2. Math for students with math
problems
You need:
Two dices
One blackboard (smartboard)
3. Math for students with math
problems
You have to decide some number like 100, 200, 300 or what ever
You write this number on the blackboard
The first student gets the dices and throws
The two numbers he/she will get can be used in different ways
4. Math for students with math
problems
Let say the student gets 3 and 6.
Then it is up to the student to decied if he:
Uses the number like it is. 36 or 63
Multiplies 3 x 6 = 18
Divides 6 / 3 = 2
Adds 6 + 3 = 9
or minus 6 – 3 = 3
5. Math for students with math
problems
When the student has decided what number he wants to use he
have to subtract from the number on the blackboard.
If there are 4 students, A, B, C and D then it can be like this.
●A ●A ●B ●B ●C ●C ●D ●D
●200 ●200 ●200 ●200
●4 and 1 ●41
●159
●3 and 2 ●32
●168
●6 and 6 ●66
●134
●1 and 5 ●51
●149
●5 and 4 ●54
●105
●2 and 6 ●62
●106
●6 and 6 ●66
●68
●1 and 3 ●31
●118
●3 and 2 ●32
●73
●4 and 4 ●44
●62
●6 and 3 ●63
●5
●5 and 6 ●65
●53
●5 and 4 ●54
●19
●6 and 6
●6 x 6
●36
●26
●4 and 1
●4 + 1
●5
●0
●5 and 4 ●45
●8
6. Math for students with math
problems
It will help the student to calculate without calculator and he has to
try different ways with the numbers to find out which number is
the best one. (it is not possible to get 2,5 when divided, it has to
be 2 or 3).
So the first student to get zero wins.
It is easy in the beginning but because they are not allowed to go
below zero they have to figure out the best outcome each time.
