PROFESSIONAL EXPERIENCE
Senior Research Fellow (I): Evolutionary biology unit (EOBU), JNCASR (2013-2016)
Handled studies involving effects of temperature and light intensity as variables in natural and semi natural
conditions, on Drosophila activity using Drosophila activity monitors.
Comparison of photoperiod assays of five strains of D.ananassae species, using L:D cycle of 12 hrs.
Maintenance and rearing of five species of Drosophila, including discrete generation maintenance in lab
conditions.
Studying temperature mutants and their brain activity patterns and protein expression in the brain, cross set
ups between genetically mutant lines and analysis of Neurochemistry in adult flies.
Larval and adult drosophila brain dissections, further antibody staining and observation under phase contrast
microscope, Data Analysis using MATLAB.
Junior Research Associate(I): Department of Biotechnology, U.A.S GKVK (2013)
Worked on DST funded project titled, “Molecular analyses of linkage drag and genome retention in
gametophytic selection for Fusarium wilt resistance in Chickpea”.
Project Assistant for UGC funded project titled, “Identification of Fusarium wilt resistance pattern in chickpea
Pollen”.
Independently performed SSR and RAPD primer standardizations using PCR.
Agarose gel electrophoresis and documentation of the gel using GEL DOC unit.
Scoring of bands of the PCR products and compilation of the data.
DNA extraction and protein extraction and storage of proteins using Lyophilizer.
Protein Quantification using mass spectrometer.
SDS PAGE and Protein Staining.
