Shatter loss is not the responsibility of the machine
Cutter bar loss may be reduced by
By adjusting the cutter bar height controller
Bay adjusting the horizontal distance between the reel and
the cutter bar
By sharpening the knife of the cutter bar
Cylinder losses may be reduced by
By adjusting the concave clearance
By adjusting the cylinder speed
By adjusting the forward speed of the combine
Separating loss: Rake and Shoe losses may be reduced by
I. Rake loss
By adjusting the forward speed of the combine
By raising the cutter bar
I. Shoe loss
By reducing the forward speed of the combine
Cleaning losses may be reduced by
By closing down the shoe sieve and/or the chaffer sieve

It saves time and labor.
It can perform harvesting on a large scale.
It can simultaneously separate the grains from the straws.
The most basic disadvantage lies in its cost. Due to this
very reason, it has become problematic for the farmers as
for them it appears to be too much for one farm to buy
and keep solely to themselves for their own use.
The second disadvantage lies in its size. Due to this reason,
they are difficult to transport on a low loader to distant
farms.
They are impotent of using in small areas and unfit for any
indoor use. They are best used in large and open fields.
