An optoelectronic sensor produces an electrical signal proportional to incident light. Color sensors determine color by emitting light and analyzing reflected light. Integrated color sensors in blood glucose meters use the light-reflectance method, where a test strip undergoes a color change or light properties change based on blood glucose content. A proposed colorimeter would use color measurement instead of absorbance to eliminate nonlinearity issues above 400mg/dl glucose concentration. An RGB color sensor converts light to proportional voltage outputs for each color channel, connected to a microcontroller and computer for color measurement analysis and display.

7. The Future of Sensor in Colorimeter
• Improve the software so that many of the processes can be
done automatically.
• Interfacing provided in the Modified colorimeter has not been
fully utilized in the present software.
• New software developed to work with the RGB data coming
straight from the modified colorimeter to the computer.
• Further work can be carried out in the Clinical laboratories
with real blood samples collected from the Diabetic patients.
• Colorimeter can be compared with that of the result obtained
from the existing colorimeter and Glucometer.
