1. College and university art programs can often
be difficult to get into. That means it’s critical to
have a professional looking portfolio to present
during your interview with the faculty.
Accomplished mixed-media/pastel artist and
illustrator Sheri Tenaglia is offering art classes
in her Williams Mill studio for the purpose of
portfolio building. Her program is designed for
students competing for admittance into arts high
schools and post secondary programs in fine
arts, interior design, illustration, graphic design
and more (OCADU, Sheridan, YorkU, Ryerson,
GuelphU, Humber etc.).

Sheri has been a great art teacher and the biggest help
with getting ready to apply to college. My skill and
passion for art have improved so much since I started
taking lessons it’s hard to even believe. She has helped
me put together a portfolio I’m really proud of and I look
forward to my class every week and improving more.

Sheri’s classes are popular with both
youth and adults, (many of them teachers
themselves) and for good reason! As well
as being an established artist whose art
is collected both locally and abroad, Sheri
has over 20 years teaching experience – in
her studio, in community and art centres in
Halton Hills and Brampton, and as a guest
artist in elementary schools. Students also
benefit by Sheri’s positive, encouraging
attitude and small class sizes. She has helped
many students prepare outstanding portfolios
that have helped them get into some of the
toughest university and college programs.

Many of Sheri’s students have experienced great success. They have won
awards, (over 90 student awards to date), made sales and commissions,
illustrated for books, and some have even received university art scholarships.

Sheri taught me to draw by looking at things in a different way. I’m now creating paintings
that I never thought possible. She knows how to bring the artist out in anyone with her
positive attitude, and immense artistic knowledge. I look forward to each lesson as she
helps me build a portfolio for school. Based on the artwork I created in her classes I received
an early offer of admission to OCAD U, my first choice school.
SHANNON HOPE
Sheri’s influence helped immensely during my undergrad and I am now continuing to
strengthen my skills as a Master of Architecture student at UBC. I do not think that I
would be where I am, nor be the person I am today were it not for her steady guidance.
Sheri once told me something along the lines of ‘everyone has the capability
to produce amazing artwork’, but she is the only person ever I’ve known who could
bring it out in anyone

We are so thankful to you and all you have done for Allana, she has grown leaps and bounds
over the last 3 years, and I know that you have played a huge part in her growth as an artist.
Allana received an early offer to OCAD University, based on her portfolio.
We are so proud of her. Thank you again.
