To Whom It May Concern,
I am writing to enthusiastically affirm Naomi’s ability to teaching Visual Arts
and integrate herself into a school community. Naomi has proven to be an
innovated and hard working teacher at ICEF Vista Elementary School and
team member in the Visual and Performing Arts (VAPA) Department. Along
side managing her weekly K-6th grade curriculum, she habitually designs
engaging supplemental school site art activities. Not only is it a pleasure to
coach Naomi, it is also rewarding to work with her on projects, as she is
dependable, resourceful and a creative thinker.
As the Arts Instructional Specialist for ICEF Public Schools, I am responsible
for providing each teacher in the Visual and Performing Arts Department with
coaching sessions, resources and professional development opportunities.
Naomi engages in feedback and seeks to collaborate with colleagues. She also
enthusiastically attends professional development offerings, and quickly
implements learned material into the context of her classroom.
Naomi has embraced a curriculum, which allows her to teach visual art from a
multitude of perspectives. Her instruction includes an overview of historical
context, technique and inquiry-based learning. The strength of her classroom
activities are also exemplified in her lesson plans, where she outlines units
covering the art elements and principles as well as reflective art projects in
personal expression. Naomi regularly motivates her students to create
exceptional pieces of art and her students often win internal and external
contests in the Visual Arts. As a teacher, I have also learned new practices
from the lessons where I have observed Naomi. Recently, she impressed me
with her habit of surveying students for feedback at the end of the lesson.
Throughout her years at ICEF Vista, Naomi has collaborated with different
teachers to create two murals for the school site and she leads an annual
fundraiser, which consists of selling coffee mugs covered with images of
student work. Ultimately, Naomi consistently exceeds her school-site job
requirements and is a valuable member of the school community.
Naomi is a dependable, thoughtful Visual Arts Teacher and collaborative
department member. I can confidently recommend her to an arts education
department, as she would we be a great asset in strengthening your team and
organization.
