Review Board,
Please allow me to preface this email by saying a big thank you to you for considering me for the Position
of Adjunct Faculty. I consider myself fortunate because I have the ability to do so many things both self-taught
and learned, however, one of the things in my life that I am most passionate about is Higher Learning,
Communications, Business and the utilization of unconventional methods to empower others with the
knowledge and skills to create the life that they have always desired. Attached, you will find a copy of my
resume for your review and consideration. Although, I have not had formal experience as a college level
educator, I would, however, like to use this cover letter as a means to formally introduce myself to you and
outline some of the things I have participated in that are very relevant but may not appear on the actual
resume.
I began my work as a teacher/tutor with the Boys & Girls Clubs of Broward County. There I served in
various capacities but more importantly as a mentor to more than 50 teenagers, tutoring, counseling through
the final years of high school and prepping for their transition into college. I left for college and earned my
Bachelor’s degree in Mass Media Communications and in the summer months, piloted a performing arts /
literary program for inner city youth. I designed the program to not only challenge the youth in the arts, but
to also keep them educationally grounded. My work with youth and within the community has carried
me from troubled youth to flourishing adult. I know that service and reaching out to make a difference is a
powerful thing and I believe that my personal life experiences coupled with my work experience makes me
a prime candidate for this type of position.
I’ve experienced life as a middle school educator in the brick and mortar school establishment. I’ve earned
a Masters Level Degree in Business Administration with an Emphasis in Entrepreneurship at the H. Wayne
Huizenga School of Business & Entrepreneurship at Nova Southeastern University, a second Masters in
Higher Education / Online College Teaching, and am four classes from completing a second Masters in
Leadership. Aside from my experience and education, I am also employed with Kaplan University as an
Education Advisor in the Department of Public Safety. My job functions there are vast and I have gained a
wealth of transferrable knowledge that I believe has launched me to new levels professionally,
intellectually, and personally.
I truly believe that I am an asset and I can assure you that I would contribute 100% of my heart and wisdom
to seeing every endeavor through to successful completion. My passion for Education is second only to
my passion for helping others to realize their dreams. I believe that I am more than qualified for the Adjunct
position with your fine Institution and I am confident that If given the challenge I will rise to the occasion. I
would truly love the opportunity to speak with you regarding the position and would appreciate it if together
we can determine if I am, in fact, a great fit for the role. Please feel free to call me in the meantime so that
we can further explore the possibilities together, my contact number is listed above for your convenience.
Thank you for your time!
