2. What is it that you’re going to be doing once you complete this training?
3. You’re going to be recovering the health and functioning
of the social environments in which you live, work, learn, and play
so that suffering may be alleviated and flourishing promoted.
4. If you see yourself as an agent of positive change
or as someone who helps others to experience life success,
then you’ll be doing this for them.
5. Why is that important?
What’s the value of being good at doing that?
What’s in it for me?
6. It’s important because our real experiences are having a real effect
on our ability to experience real happiness in life
(while we are at home, at school, at work, at church, etc)
By ‘real happiness’ I mean
basic human mental health need-satisfaction and personal goal-attainment.
7. You can contrast real happiness with
a pretend pleasantness,
with dissociation from reality,
with an artificial high
(associated with substance abuse, promiscuity, religiosity, etc.)
8. The kind of happiness I’m talking about is embedded
in the in the social ecosystem
- in the habitual way that people and places interact.
But here’s the thing...
9. Most of us grew up in places where oppression was the norm
And so, even though we think we’ve been helping all this time,
In actuality, we’ve been flying on autopilot
and what we’ve actually been doing
is responding to the behavior of others
in the same way that we would have responded
back when we were children
10. And so, in reality, our real habits
(at home, at school, at work, at church, etc.)
are re-creating the same kind of messed up social environments
that we grew up in – and that is definitely not helping!
…it’s not helping our kids,…
…it’s not helping our clients,…
…it’s not helping our students…
11. So, if you want to help your kids, your clients, and / or your students to
learn a new way of living – one that will stand a chance of actually earning
them real happiness, then you’ll want to challenge your own assumptions
and figure out whether or not what you are doing is really helping…
…and if it’s not,
then take this opportunity to upgrade your own programming!
12. So, to wrap up…
…the benefit to you…
…is the same as the benefit to those whom you are trying to help
- a sustainable sense of psychological well-being and a flourishing life
13. Does that sound good?
If it does, then increase your odds of succeeding –at helping others
by taking the hero training today!
“A hero is someone who builds better circumstances today
for better experiences tomorrow – and protects them once built!”
