2. Introduction
The green corridor is a project on smart cities, green cities and
renewable resources.
In this proposed work ,we will work with the principles of piezoelectric
effect
We use piezoelectric sensors (basically transducers) as the heart of this
project.
The main motto of our project is to generate green energy.
We believe in small innovators , Big innovations.
3. Background of Innovation
Today’s megacities need to develop themselves on
following parameters :
1. Pollution
2. Green Energy
3. Scarcity of land
• 9 out of every 10 people in the world breathe polluted air
• 9 out of top 10 polluted cities of the world are in India itself.
• Around 3.8 million people died in 2016 due to pollution.
• Non-renewable sources makes up 85% of worldwide energy usage.
• In the last 50 years, the global energy demand has tripled.
• It is projected to triple again over the next 30 years.
The above data shows that there is a need of an alternative and the best
approach is to make our livelihood smarter thus making our cities smart cities
and green cities.
4. Problem statement
There is a variety of fuels used to generate energy and all impact the
environment.
• Fossil fuel power plants release a huge amount of air pollution.
• Nuclear power plants generate and accumulate a large quantity of radioactive
waste.
• Hydal power plants affects aquatic habitat.
• Windmills affects birds
Assume if we can build cities with smart infrastructure having smart
transportation system that helps in generating energy with a negligible amount
of pollution.
5. Solution
The main motto of our proposed work is to generate electricity using the
principle of piezoelectric effect.
In the complete project we will develop a corridor where all the energy
generated from that corridor is green energy.
There are different modules of implementation phase
MODULE 1: In this module, we will develop new kind of roads and footpaths. This
road and footpath will differ from traditional roads because it will include lots of
piezoelectric transducers
MODULE 2: In this module, we will develop and place piezoelectric transducers
on or inside the tires of the vehicles.
MODULE 3: This is the last module in which the energy will be generated from
our running shoes. We will place a piezoelectric transducer inside the sole of the
shoes and attach a small power storage device to the circuitry.
