social behavior of employees for doing a
particular job.

Skills training
• Skills training is done for basic skills.
• Proficiencies needed to actually perform the job.
Needs for skills training
 Reading
 Writing
 Computing
 Speaking & Listening
 Problem solving
 Managing oneself etc
Technical skills training
• Depending on the type of job, technical training will
be required. Technical training is a type of training
meant to teach the new employee the technological
aspects of the job.
Refresher training
The Refresher training is based on the assumption that
the skills with the existing employees become obsolete
or outdated because of the advancement in the
technology and due to the human tendency of forgetting
things.
Eg:- computerization in an organization.
• Short term courses are conducted for refresher training
• Training is done at regular intervals
Cross-functional training
• Training employees to perform operations in areas other
than their assigned job.
• Job rotation can be used for cross functional training.
Team training
• The goal of team training is to develop cohesiveness among
team members, allowing them to get to know each other and
facilitate relationship building.
Team training covers two areas:
I. Content tasks
II. Group processes
Content tasks - specify the team’s goals such as cost
control and problem solving
Group processes - reflect the way members function as a
team
Diversity training
• Diversity training considers all of the diverse dimensions in
the workplace- race, gender, age, disabilities, lifestyles,
culture, education, ideas and backgrounds- while designing a
training programme.
• It aims to create better cross cultural sensitivity.
Literacy training
• Literacy training focus on the basic skills required to
perform a job adequately and capitalize on most
worker’s motivation to get help in particular area.
Safety training
• Training that occurs to ensure employees are protected
from injuries caused by work-related accidents.
Safety training can also include the following:
• Eye safety
• First aid
• Hearing protection
• Construction safety etc
Legal Training
• organizations have to give properly training their
employees on the laws relating to their industry. Other
types of legal training might include sexual
harassment law training and discrimination law
training.
Ethics Training
• Ethics training helps managers and employees to adhere
to the ethical norms of the organization and help improve
corporate image.
• Ethical business is good business.
Human Relation Training
• HR training facilitates people to get along with in the
work place.
Quality Training
• Initiatives such as TQM,QC,bench marking,etc require
basic training about quality concepts ,guidelines and
standard for quality.
Benefits of training
• Increased job satisfaction and morale among employees.
• Increased employee motivation.
• Increased efficiencies in processes, resulting in financial
gain.
• Increased capacity to adopt new technologies and
methods.
• Increased innovation in strategies and products.
• Reduced employee turnover.

  • 5. Technical skills training • Depending on the type of job, technical training will be required. Technical training is a type of training meant to teach the new employee the technological aspects of the job.

Refresher training The Refresher training is based on the assumption that the skills with the existing employees become obsolete or outdated because of the advancement in the technology and due to the human tendency of forgetting things.
