1. The above screen shots for our film show the build up of suspense.
Throughout the film the character has not
been able to contact anyone that he knows,
in the final shot he finally makes contact with
someone, but he doesn’t know who it is.
The opening shot shows the protagonist
waking up from what the viewer would assume was the night before (the
previous scene). Once he regains his composure he stands up and begins to
call people who he remembers were there from the night before, asking them
if they know how he got where he is. Because he cannot remember the night
before there are many questions that the viewer would have. This is Dan’s
weakness as he can’t remember what has happened or where he is.
In the first scene, during the party sequence, the viewer is watching the
protagonist from a third person perspective which is typical of a thriller as it
gives a voyeuristic feel.

2. where he is. In this shot themes of identity are used. As Dan can’t remember
what has happened it shows the viewer some signs of amnesia.
Throughout the opening sequence, it becomes more
obvious that Dan is completely alone on finding out
how he got where he is. The viewer can assume
that the antagonist is something to do with this.
