Genre means the different styles of art that is
presented through different forms of art, this could be
through film, literature, music or photography.
The genre is used to determine the theme of the piece
of art, it is useful to help people pick out what kind of art

3. Audience Expectations
From Genres
The audience expects what they view to be based on
the genre, there're the genre is used to help people
identify what style it is.
Genre is helpful to make people confidently chose what
to view because they can know what is is based of.
For example people going to see a horror they expect
to be scared.
4. Thriller
I have chosen thriller to do for my video, I have chosen
this because I have an interest in the genre.
I have researched and found the key aspects and
features of this genre to help me produce the best
video of my potential.
5. Shutter island
The opening scene of the film Shutter island begins
with a very mysterious and idiosyncratic shot. The next
scene is filled with fog and this makes the audience
feel anxious. As the viewer does’t have a sense of
location they feel disorientated and want to know where
they are. The low orchestral music is used to to build
tension and make the audience feel scared.
6. Silence of the Lambs
In the opening scene you can see a girl running
through the woods, the scene id foggy. It is then made
apparent that the women is running an FBI assault
course.
The isolated woods gives a spooky feel and the women
running through the woods looks like a cliché thriller but
then you release she is an FBI Agent.
