A professional profile, CV or resume summarizes the facts about you, your
education, and your experience that are relevant to the job in question. It
positions you in the mind of the potential employer or client. Using a standardized
approach demonstrates Halliburton’s commitment to teamwork—something the
client values in us.
The following template makes it easy for a reader to decide if you would be a
good candidate for a project. Remember: the purpose to this document is to
position you and Halliburton well for a project or work in the mind of the client.
We want to demonstrate that Halliburton has the right team with the right skills
and experience to get the job done right.
Here at Halliburton, we employ time-tested CV and resume-writing best
practices. We have formatted a document on the following pages so all you have
to do is plug in the right information and follow the guidance in the italics.
Additionally, we have branded each page with the Halliburton logo to reinforce
the fact that this resume is coming from a company that’s famous for having what
it takes to do the job right.
A few suggestions:
Stick to this standardized form: Clients are confronted with piles of
applications and CVs every day. Unusual layouts make it difficult to determine
your qualifications at a glance; they put you and us at a disadvantage.
Keep it simple, keep it straight: A CV should be straightforward, logical and
truthful.
Keep it short: Get your information on the fewest pages possible. One to two
pages is optimal; more than four is too many. Delete all information irrelevant to
your prospect.
Edit and make it perfect: No typos, no misspellings and no extraneous
information. The smallest mistake will detract from an otherwise stellar CV.
Note: When filling in the template remember to delete the guidance
information and replace the sample information with your own material.
