Narayana Murthy, is an Indian IT industrialist and the co-founder of Infosys, a multinational corporation providing business consulting, technology, engineering, and outsourcing services.
2. INTRODUCTION
Nagavara Ramarao Narayana Murthy commonly
referred to as Narayana Murthy was born on 20th
august,
1946 in sidlaghatta Kolar District of Karnataka, India.
Graduated from National Institute of Engineering in 1967
with a degree in Electrical Engineering.
He received his master's degree in 1969 from the Indian
Institute of Technology in Kanpur.
Murthy has been listed among the 12 greatest
entrepreneurs of our time by Fortune magazine.
He has been described as Father of Indian IT sector by
Time magazine due to his contribution to outsourcing in
India.
3. PERSONAL LIFE
Married with Sudha Murthy in bangalore on10 feb1978 with only
their two families present.
She is B.E. Gold Medalist in Electrical Engineering from Hubballi
And M.E. Gold Medalist in Computer Science from the Indian
Institute of Science.
They have two childern, Rohan and Akshata Murthy.
Rohan was educated at Harvard and On 1 June 2013, he joined
Infosys as an executive assistant to his father.
Akshata completed her MBA from Stanford Business School, and
married to Rishi Sunak a British Conservative MP .
Before starting Infosys, Murthy worked with Indian
Institute of Management Ahmedabad as chief systems
programmer.

5. COMPANY INFOSYS
1981 - On July 2nd the company infosys was incorporated
by software professionals – Mr. N.R. Narayana Murthy

From 1981 to 2002, he served as CEO of the company.
He served as chairman from 2002 to 2011.
In 2013 he was appointed as Executive Chairman and
additional Director for a period of 5 years.
Today Infosys has 9.5 billion dollars in revenue and
194,383 employees.
The current market capitalisation stands at Rs 236,826.48
crore.
It is listed on BSE with 5002090 and NSE with INFY.
8. CONTRIBUTION
In 1996 established the not-for-profit infosys foundation
aimed at providing a dedicated approach to community
development.
In January 1999, we donated 2,567 computers to various
institutions across India
In August 2001, Narayana Murthy set up a Leadership
Institute in Mysore, India.
In 2002, Infosys was ranked No. 1 in the "Best Employers
in India".
The first Indian company to be listed on an American stock
exchange.
In 2004 It also became the first listed Indian company with
revenue of $1 billion a year.
Infosys is the 15th
largest IT service provider in the world.
He proved that India could compete with the world by
taking on the software development.
