In 1983 Infosys got their first client, MICO, inBangalore.After ten years of struggling INFOSYS was still not upand running and Narayan Murthy offers( wittily ) to buyback six others for a hand some amount of a milliondollar, then in next ten years INFOSYS become firstbillion dollar company and rest is History.He served as the president of the National Associationof Software and Service Companies, India from 1992 to1994.
CONTD…Murthy started a new venture capital fund calledCatamaran Venture Fund with the money he got byselling 800,000 Infosys shares worth 174 Crores. SudhaMurthy does it again by helping him in setting up his VCFund by giving him Rs.430 crores which she got byselling quarter of her stake 1.6% in Infosys.Murthy retired from his executive position at Infosyson 20 August 2006. However, he continues as the Non-Executive Chairman of the board.
