Clinical Director SafeSpace ​Youth Mental Health Services 
SafeSpace is a non­profit organization dedicated to helping young people get early access to mental 
health care.​ ​Based on a proven model in Australia, SafeSpace is a friendly place for young adults to go, 
either online or in person, to get confidential help from someone who will listen and not judge them.   
 
Position:​ Clinical Director (youth mental health services) 
Reports to:​ Executive Director 
Location: ​Menlo Park, California 
 
Description:​ Must have a passion for youth mental health care. 
Responsible for overseeing and developing the youth clinical care model 
including hiring, supervising, evaluating and scheduling. Develop, plan and 
implement strategies for youth program continuation and growth. Provide 
clinical training to clinical staff and interns. This position provides both 
clinical and personnel supervision of the clinical staff. Must have the ability 
to think globally, solve problems and have good decision­making skills, 
including critical thinking skills. Entrepreneurial spirit is a must. 
  
Job Qualifications: 
●  Masters or PhD Psychologist 
● Three to five years of progressively responsible program 
management experience and staff supervision, including expertise 
transforming clinical staff into a highly functional team 
●  Proven experience understanding and demonstrated ability to 
generate revenues for clinical services 
●  Experience with Medi­Cal and CA insurance 
●  Experience and confidence implementing evidence based practices 
●  Experience working in setting with youth and families 
●  Ability to work flexible hours 
●  Program development, evaluation, solid organizational skills, and 
public speaking 
●  Strong written and oral communication skills 
●  Commitment to maintain confidentiality 
  
Essential Functions: 
● Work with other members of the management team to assure 
successful communication and coordination between all SafeSpace 
programs, and participate in strategic planning. 
●  Regularly provide clinical training to clinical services staff and 
interns.  
● Recruitment of clinical interns, conduct outreach and maintain 
working relationships with graduate schools. 
●  Must have an attitude of friendliness and be able to communicate 
with all levels within the SafeSpace. 
● Maintain good working relationships with all SafeSpace Staff and 
Volunteers. 
● Develop and maintain strong relationships with local high schools, 
middle schools, churches and pediatricians.
