Saudi Students Association at
Indiana State University
The SSA is responsible for promoting positive cultural communication and enhancing cultural
exchange between the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia and the United States of America by supporting
and promoting Saudi publications, exhibits, and cultural outreach programs. Also, it helps Saudi
students to make a quick adjustment and movement to the new culture.
This current administration started with clear goals:
1- building bridges between the US and the new community at ISU.
2- Support to new Community.
3- Improve us and others to be valuable members of this community, university, and the world.
Spring 2015:
1- Welcoming event (4 hours )
2- Planning for the first annual dinner for sponsored students. (15 hours working including the 3
hours of the event and after the event)
3- New students Orientation 2 Hours.
4- Coffe Hour ( 5 hours including the 3 hours event from 11 am up to 2 pm) we cooked Arabic
food, and we dedicate this day to the homeless by donating the food after the event to them
together.
5- The first voluntary training session with Hand by Hand organization for Arab students who
came from different states in the USA. 50 Hours of preparation and attending.

A) this training was for a full four days.
B) 6 hours daily
C) we were organizing this event and getting the training as well.
D) we create peaceful gestures like spreading flowers to the ISU community every day after the
sessions.
6- The "Share the talk" at the uterine church, to speak with different people from different faith
about the sharing points between them. (2 hours)
7- Soccer Tournament: with the SSA and other organizations in the University. (15 hours)
8- Poet night: is one of the artistic night were we invited everyone to share with them our
culture and we help even the Arab to understand the new things for them and us dedicate this
night to the elderly by asking them to visit us and enjoy the free night with us.
9- planning academic courses ( 3 courses/ 22 hours) help the student gain knowledge in their
field of study and developing their skills.
10- Graduation ceremony: (8hours)
A) give out 800 flowers to all the graduates and their family during the ceremony in both
sessions.
B) planning a general graduation party for the Saudis and Arab graduates.
C) Planning the girls night to celebrate as female together with other females in the city.

Summer 2015:
It was our fasting Month, so we were donating money to the fasting food and invited everyone
to eat with us even the non muslims and poor people.
Fall 2015:
1- Coffee Hour ( 5 hours including the 3 hours event from 11 am up to 2 pm) we cooked Arabic
food, and we dedicate this day to help to teach the Arabic language to non Arabic speakers. and
then donate the extra food.
2- Breast cancer support (Susan G. Komen for the Cure Cause) we Celebrate our Holiday by
inviting the survivors to share the ladies night and get crowned as princesses. Also, we schedule
a regular visit to them, and we donate a dollar instead of each person attended the event.
3- Children Must be Happy day ( 6 hours ) we rented the bouncing Burn for all the kids in Terre
Haute to get free entry to the burn, and us playing with them and bringing games and gift to all
of them.
4- Hosting a big event at the University as part of the Holiday celebrations as well. We teach the
people about our culture. (7 Hours)
5- Soccer Tournament: with the SSA and other organizations in the University. (15 hours) We
win the Tournament.
