2. Shot Lists
Shot Lists are very basic but clear outlines of what the trailer, as well as the
film, will entail. Whilst planning and configuring the bases of our story, I made a
rough shot list of the different shots that we would like our trailer to have. The
shot list made it clear, because it sets out the basic shots and the principles that
come with it.
For example, we have a low angle shot of the killer, and the principle of this
was to show that he is the most powerful character out of them all. Although this
is not the finished shot list, it gave me a clearer angle of what the storyline of the
film would be.
The shot list links to the storyboard, as after I created the shot list, I used it to
draw up the many different shot lists of the trailer. We haven’t figured out the
ending of our film, and it’s a working progress, but the shot list gave me the initial
ending of the trailer.
