Qatar Airways is a large 5 star rated commercial Airline of the World, operating a large fleet of over 150
aircrafts comprising of Airbus and Boeing , flying to over 150 destinations across the Globe.
Duties and responsibilities:
Since Feb 2012 to 17 th Aug 2013 : Handling independently Repairs of the Qatar AMIRI – 14 Aircrafts &
Qatar Executive 6 aircrafts- Fleet.
Feb 2012 to Nov 2012: Headed the Group of Local Components / maintenance Tools / Qatar AMIRI &

May 2007 to Feb 2012: Headed the WIDE BODIED FLEET Components Repairs section (A330/A340 Aircrafts) REPAIRS
FUNCTION - IN THE CAPACITY OF GROUP SUPERVISOR.
• Analysing U/S labels & allocating parts to suitable repair shops, Globally / OEM’s . Assign buyer
wise Repair components for issue of Repair orders. Issue Repair orders, and Turn around in the
designated time frame for timely availability for aircraft maintenance & repairs.
• Analysing Shop Reports, repair quotations and approve ALL repair quotations received from the
vendors / group buyers up to the value of USD 5000.00 – Recommend approvals for repair
quotations for values above USD 5000.00 upwards to the higher Management.
• Follow-up on spares and units under repairs with FAA 145 Repair stations and OEM's to ensure
timely receipt of items within the specified TAT.
• Co- ordination the group activity of approximately 2000 items covering all aircraft requirements
• Follow-up on AOG shortages for EDD's, MDD's, C- Checks, Retrofits and MOD's.
• Maintaining daily update Status on EXCEL/ TRAX – for units under my responsibility.
• Supervise and manage all Group activities for smooth functioning.
• Prepare all group related performance Monthly MIS Reports for perusal of the management.
• Arrange Exchanges & core returns.

Materials Purchase
• Modification and Retrofits of aircraft spares ( AIRBUS FLEET) . Process RSPL / Exchanges and
initial provisioning. Procurement of aircraft spares as per Indents.
• Process purchase indents, call for quotes / tenders, analyse quotes / tenders, decision making on
prices, quotes & vendor selection.
• Placing orders, follow up to procure the right material, in the right time & right quality for stock
replenishment, refurbishment, retrofits.
• Meet urgent, critical requirements as and when occasion arise.

• Ensuring all quality, certification requirements relating to incoming materials and spares control are
strictly adhered to in concurrence with FAA /JAA /EASA / TCCA Regulations.
• Establishing correspondence with vendors for goods held under quarantine due to discrepancies in
the nature of goods, certifications and all types of shortfalls / trouble shooting in meeting quality
requirements to establish acceptance of supply.
• Co-ordinating between Stores / Inspection / Engineering / Users and vendors to sort out
discrepancies to ensure acceptance of goods held under quarantine.
• Referring to Suppliers web sites / AIRBUS IPC to check links to alternate Part Numbers,
specifications and update to accept such items.
• Maintaining an updated EXCEL file on a daily basis listing all the Stores Discrepancy Reports
raised with latest status on their resolution.
• Operating Trax Software for day to day activities of maintaining records of spares movement
• Maintaining Loan Statement duly updated on a regular basis to ensure timely return of loan items.
Maintaining correspondence with the Airlines/operators and other establishments regarding items
taken on loan, to return loans and confirm closure. Work out approximate Loan charges and update
statement on a weekly basis for the perusal of the Management.
• Special projects and other duties as and when allocated by the Supervisor.
• Bringing to the attention of the Supervisor any matters of discrepancies and matters which require
further investigative / corrective action.

• Follow up of Purchase orders issued by the AOG desk Buyers
• Preparing Loan statements and follow up on loan items.

Worked as Deputy Manager – Purchase, for Bajaj Tempo Ltd, Pune, India, (Now FORCE MOTORS Ltd)
one of the largest Automobile Engineering concerns in India, manufacturing the most popular LCVs,
UTVs, Diesel Engines and Tractors in collaboration with Mercedes Benz AG Germany, having Annual
Turnover of $ 600 million. At Bajaj, I headed the procurement cell of the Proprietary Components /
Hardwares, Castings and Forging items for the company’s Tractor Division for the period 1997-2001.
Since joining in 1982 to Nov 2001, headed the Spare Parts procurement cell, for after Market Sales &
Dealer provisioning of the Company.
Duties and responsibilities:
• Included sourcing of components, negotiations, costing of parts, development and finalisation of
dedicated sources of supply. Price fixation, placement of orders and scheduling of material to be
procured on a monthly basis for the planned manufacture of the Tractors. The entire gamut of
procurement consisted of approximately 400 items, covering an annual procurement value of
approximately 150 million Indian Rupees (approximately 3 million USD).
• Other responsibilities included: Inventory Management of the Division, Monthly Business Process
Presentation to the Management, Vendor Rationalisation SQIP and Vendor self-certification,
Establish JIT/KIT.
• For 15 years (1982-1997), I was heading the Bought-out components and Spare Parts Procurement
Cell of the company. In general, the activity included Planning and Procurement of automobile
spare parts for the Replacement Trade distributed through the company’s dealer network. Co-
relating parts, identifying sources and ordering parts as per catalogues and drawings. Analysing and
setting annual Spare parts sales targets of Dealers.

• Analysing Design Modification Notes, establishing stocking data for deleted / modified not
Interchangeable Parts, establishing further requirements and their stocking policy. Analysing
Vehicle Off-Road Requirement (VORs), suggesting alternate parts / assemblies. Attend VOR /
Service Warranty meetings and Sales & Spares Improvement meetings. Analysing Dealer Parts
Back order statements. Channelizing supplies of critical and short supply parts. Development of
Service Special Tools, preparation of Monthly spare parts Performance Compliance MIS Report,
Value wise & number of parts-wise for perusal of the Management.
November 1989 - June 1990 (7 months)
Worked as Purchase Officer - Ispat Profiles India Ltd, Pune, India. A state-of-the-art Steel Rolling Mill,
promoted by the world famous Mittal Group. The company manufactured Mild Steel, Alloy Steel and
Rails.
Duties and responsibilities:
• Procurement of Raw Materials, Catalysts, Rolling Mill Refractories, Spares and Gases.
August 1979-July 1982 (2 years – 11 months)
Worked as Sr. Purchase Assistant - TATA Engineering & Locomotive Company, Pune, India ( now
TATA MOTORS LTD) having annual turnover of approximately $ 1600 million. This is the largest
manufacturer of Light & Heavy Commercial Vehicles& Cars in India. Lately collaborated with Range
Rover to manufacture the Land Rover range of cars & SUV’s in India.
Duties and responsibilities:
• Independent handling, Planning & Procurement of Consumables Spares like Welding Electrodes &
Accessories, Safety Items, Paints, Chemical Adhesives and Packing Items. Annual Planning,
Tender and Enquiry Floating, Quotation Analysis, Negotiations, finalisation of prices, discount
strategy, share of business and quantity. Placing Purchase Orders, following-up and maintaining
uninterrupted flow of supplies for continuous production.
July 1977 - July 1979 (2 years)
Worked as Stores In charge - Sudarshan Chemical Industries Ltd, Pune, India.
Duties and responsibilities:
• Overall control of the Engineering Maintenance Stores. Complete responsibility of Receipt, Storage,
Issue of Spares, Transportation, Collection of Goods and Despatch, Maintaining Kardex and Stores
Ledger, Replenishment of Stocks and Placement of Indents, Inventory Maintenance and VED & ABC
Analysis.

ACCOMPLISHMENTS / ACHIEVEMENTS

1) ACCOMPLISHMENTS AT QATAR AIRWAYS – Handled successfully as Group Head the
complete maintainance requirements of the Wide Bodied Commercial aircraft fleet and the VVVIP
fleet for 6 years without a break, heading a group of 6 officers.
2) At BAJAJ TEMPO ( Presently FORCE MOTORS LTD )
• The company in 1982 was manufacturing only 2 models and servicing bought out spares
numbering around 800 with an annual spare parts turnover approximately 1.5 million USD. Since
then till the time I left, the company had introduced in all 7 models and were servicing around 7000
bought out components with an annual spare parts turnover of approximately approximately 8
million USD.
• All throughout, I headed the Procurement team of Spare Parts and was largely instrumental in this
growth. Single handed developed all the special service tools of all the Vehicles and Tractors.
3) At TATA ENGINEERING
• Independently applied and represented the company’s case with the Commissioner of Excise &
Prohibition Mumbai, to get enhanced licensed quota of the denatured spirit for the heat treatment
furnaces from 3000 litres to 9000 litres per month.
4) At SUDARSHAN CHEMICALS
• Recruited as a Management Trainee for one year. Was put in charge of a job in receiving stores
within 3 months and was put in charge of the company’s engineering maintenance stores within the
next 7 months comprising of 4 clerks and 6 workers, which I handled successfully.
• ANALYSED THE COMPLETE STOCKS FOR CLASSIFICATION – A/ B/ C ANALYSIS.

Maintaining correspondence with the Airlines/operators and other establishments regarding items taken on loan, to return loans and confirm closure. At Bajaj, I headed the procurement cell of the Proprietary Components / Hardwares, Castings and Forging items for the company’s Tractor Division for the period 1997-2001. Since joining in 1982 to Nov 2001, headed the Spare Parts procurement cell, for after Market Sales & Dealer provisioning of the Company. Duties and responsibilities: • Included sourcing of components, negotiations, costing of parts, development and finalisation of dedicated sources of supply. Price fixation, placement of orders and scheduling of material to be procured on a monthly basis for the planned manufacture of the Tractors. The entire gamut of procurement consisted of approximately 400 items, covering an annual procurement value of approximately 150 million Indian Rupees (approximately 3 million USD). • Other responsibilities included: Inventory Management of the Division, Monthly Business Process Presentation to the Management, Vendor Rationalisation SQIP and Vendor self-certification, Establish JIT/KIT. • For 15 years (1982-1997), I was heading the Bought-out components and Spare Parts Procurement Cell of the company.   • 5. 1) ACCOMPLISHMENTS AT QATAR AIRWAYS – Handled successfully as Group Head the complete maintainance requirements of the Wide Bodied Commercial aircraft fleet and the VVVIP fleet for 6 years without a break, heading a group of 6 officers. 2) At BAJAJ TEMPO ( Presently FORCE MOTORS LTD ) • The company in 1982 was manufacturing only 2 models and servicing bought out spares numbering around 800 with an annual spare parts turnover approximately 1.5 million USD. Since then till the time I left, the company had introduced in all 7 models and were servicing around 7000 bought out components with an annual spare parts turnover of approximately approximately 8 million USD. • All throughout, I headed the Procurement team of Spare Parts and was largely instrumental in this growth. Single handed developed all the special service tools of all the Vehicles and Tractors. 3) At TATA ENGINEERING • Independently applied and represented the company’s case with the Commissioner of Excise & Prohibition Mumbai, to get enhanced licensed quota of the denatured spirit for the heat treatment furnaces from 3000 litres to 9000 litres per month. 4) At SUDARSHAN CHEMICALS • Recruited as a Management Trainee for one year.
