2. Narrative Writing: A narrative is a way of presenting connected
events in order to tell a good story. A good story has characters, conflicts and
their solutions.
3. A good narrative have:
• A good writer can either narrate his personal (non fiction) or he can make up
a story (fiction)
• A good piece of narrative writing should have a unified beginning, middle
and end.
4. Step1: Turn on the safe search mode
Go to the search engine images. E.g. image.google.com
5. Step1: Turn on the safe search mode
• Make sure to turn on “Safe search” from the bottom right corner
settings>search settings > safe search ( put a check)
6. Step 2: Giving instructions to learners
• Choose a collection of 5 photographs from the image search engine
Tell the learners :
• they are going to write a story inspired by the same 5 photographs that they
choose.
• the story should have clear beginning, middle and end
7. Step 3: Using the image search engine
Encourage the learners to
• Use descriptive words
• Search on specific terms
• Example: an object in a situation
• A dog in the rain
Now use a descriptive word for “a dog” and “the rain”
• A black dog in the heavy rain
10. Begin writing: Beginning
• One day, it was raining heavily.
There was water every where.
• Buck the black dog was standing
outside his house.
• He was looking at the other side of
the street.
12. • Paul sat on the isle in the heavy
rain.
• He was crying.
• Buck the black dog went to Paul.
• He told Paul that he wants to be his
friend.
• Buck and Paul become friends
13. • Buck went home and got his
raincoat.
• He told Paul they can hang out in
rain.
14. • Buck and Paul went to the
mountains in the rain
• They enjoyed together in the rain.
