Sonali Sarkar completed a project at Navkshitij, an organization that helps rehabilitate mentally challenged people. During her time there, she engaged in various activities with the clients like making sky lamps, candles, chocolate and jewelry. She also helped teach skills to children in the day school. Sonali learned how to better work in a team and manage special needs clients. She was thankful for the experience and memories made with clients like Swara and Abhishak.

PREFACE
In my WIP I received Navkshitij NGO which is mainly for those people who are mentally
retarded . So they mainly help them to survive their life in easy way and try to engage them with
so many activity which is not only interesting and created .
So Therefore , our main job over there is that to engage them and
make so many thing with them not alone. We learn a lot because this people are better more
better than us that’s what I fell over there . I really like Shudha ji she is also same problem when
I spend some time with her than I realized that which combination she use to make necklace that
was amazing and apart form that I felt these people are only need care which Navkshitij give
them and we our also try to give little bit help in their work. Some I never forget some my
special friend those are really important for me I remember those people in my whole life.
The most important thing is that they never expect any think form any one they are happy as
they are they never harm anyone they never make difference between people like us they never
see poor or rich.

ACKNOWLEDGEMENTS
I am grateful to work with Navkshitij they are doing such a great job for our society . Mr. Santosh
Keshvero Munde sir our guide who enlighten all those thing which is necessary for us that point of
time .
He always with us when we did our job or guide us how to do
it . In first day to last day he always help us to done our work with easier way which is really help
us to done our work or coordinate with them . I really thank to Prof. Arathi Purohit mam and
whole management of our college give me such a good NGO which help me to enhance my skill
and help out to understand the things which is happen around us and we are not aware about that .

EXCUTIVE SUMERY
To give a happy , dignified and enjoyable life to mentally challenged friends through achievement -
oriented and fun-filled activities at Navkshitij, a home where the MCF will proud and happy to
belong.
To set up a replicable model of an ideal rehabilitation home for mentally challenged adults, which
is MCF-friendly, eco-friendly, and not demanding on the budget. And we have done so many task
over there with help of our special friend like:-
(I). Sky lamp
(II). Beautiful candle
(III). Handmade chocolate
(IV). Beautiful handmade artificial jewelry
(V). I also help in day school to handle kids and try to teach them to do daily routine work.
(VI). Decorative pots (The main things is that do our task or job along with them which is
really difficult job but Navkshitij teach us how to do these job).
Without all these thing we learn that how to manage these special friend and how to manage
work with team because we are there to work , in a team some time it’s difficult to maintain

coordination but we did well over there and now we know very well how do work in effectively
with your team .
I specially remember my some special friend because of their work , behavior fun
loving nature those are:-
Swara she is only 8 year old and see never understand any language or see don’t know how to
speak but see is so much cheerful girl and such a sweet girl and some boy over there name of
that boys is Abhishak , Purit they are only 9 or 10 old and they try to do their work by
themselves

INTRODUCTION
Navkshitij was established to improve the well-being of mentally challenged friends – we take
them under our wing, organize activities, teach them life skills and vocational skills, encourage
them to become as independent as possible, and nurture them in a compassionate environment.
I got that opportunity to work with NAVKSHITIJ and these are
given by our IIEBM INDUS BUSINESS SCHOOL PUNE. Before that I never work with NGO so
I really excited about my first or a new experience which I got here and this is the such a good
experience for me I learn a lot about social or moral ethic which I learn their. And this help me
to survive in corporate world or my SIP so it’s really help us to grow up in this field.

HISTORY ABOUT NAVKSHITIJ
The idea of Navkshitij took shape while planning and organizing a walkathon from Pune to
Lonavla, for mentally challenged friends. Dr. Neelima Desai and the organisers discussed the need
to set up a center for mentally challenged friend.
Navkshitij was established on November 27, 2003, the day of the
walkathon. Initially, we set up a day care Centre. In June 2007, Navkshitij became a residential
facility . Currently we have a total of 50 mentally challenged friends living with us for life in
Marunji campus along with 44 Staff members. We acquired a dilapidated dwelling from the Irrigation
department on lease and made it habitable within ten weeks.

VISION
We visualize Navkshitij as a movement that has started a home for MCF, where MCF live with
happiness, love, dignity , and security , a life which is enjoyable , full of achievement oriented
activity , productivity and fulfillment , with specialized training for caregivers to help them
handle mentally challenged adults , and motivate , assist and guide groups of parents to start units
on the guidelines laid down by Navkshitij ensuring rehabilitation back to society .
MISSION
Mission of Navkshitij is to create a home for mentally challenged adult , where their ageing
parent can see them relocated , assured that their child will live a life which is happy , warm and
full of life .

MORE ABOUT NAVKSHITIJ
Navkshitij also runs an Early Intervention Program for Mentally Challenged friends in the 2-8
year age group, Day school in 6-18 age group and workshop for those above 18 years. They have
also started separate Day School Workshop unit for autistic friends. They have open Day School
and Workshop for autistic Friend . They also provide pick and drop facility up to Bhosari. So
this are the some activity which is done them or which is really help our society grow up.

LAST DAY OF OUR IN NAVKSHTIJ
This is the our last day in Navkshitij or the celebrated with farewell and that day they make
special for us at the end they told us what they actually felt about us . So, therefore we know
that what they think about us and the main thing is that Mr. Munde sir told us they fell that our
batch doing really incredible job there and they actually really happy with our job which we our
done over there.

CONCLUSION
Firstly I thank Mrs. Neelima mam she give us such a good opportunity to work with them and we
enjoy and with this we learn a lot form them .After doing such a great job with them they all give
us respectively some handmade gift which show their kindness , humbleness or honesty about us
. in these 15 or 20 days they so much attached with us

SUGGESTION/ RECOMENDATION
As we are know that Navkshitij doing extremely fantastic job but in my suggestion is that if they
doing some innovation in their method or technic which help them to gain benefit for their
organization which is really help them to grow or do some think more for our country some
suggestion form my side those are as following those are:-
(I). As we know that are special friend make handmade thing which are really show their creativity
or their fascinate about their work so in that they sell their product in those are where like students are
more prefer these type of thing to them.
(II). They used some good technic to improve their business or use technical thing which help
them to improve their business as well as their profit.
(III). As we are know that the some political election happing in Maharashtra so they get a
permission to them and made some stall near to some market where student are more come for
wondering so in that case their product will be more sell because as we are seeing these king of
thing student more like to purchase it which is more profitable for their business .
So these are some my suggestion about how they increase or create more profit
in their organization with help of or using some simple step to gain profit for their organization.
