Please have a look on this article and share your ideas in comments.
1. Rural Development: What are the possibilities?
In this creation, the human has already gained a great deal of things, made a bunch of innovations, but
still if we discussaboutthe developmentthenwe cansayinthatrespectisawaymore togoand especially
in rural fields.
The rural India is really backward in comparison to the Urban India in many aspects like education,
infrastructure, employment, standard of living and so on. It is not like the rural population don’t like to
adapt the development going on across the world. But, they have not been provided the best facilities
since the beginning.Somewhere inpastthose areaslaggedbehindbecause peoplefromrural areashave
keptmigratingtourbantoadaptthe advancementinlivelihoodinsteadof developingtheareafromwhere
they actually belongs to.
The oldseriesof governmentshave alsoendowedamodestshare of investmentindevelopingrural areas
in comparison to Urban. We can say this was also the dirty game of politics with which the rural area is
still suffering from.
The basicneedof we all humanisFood,ClothesandShelter.Yes, they are alreadyprovidedwiththesefor
decades.Isthis the onlythingUrbanpeopleare giftedwith.No,theyhaveemploymentfor aliving,quality
education, power supply, good road for easy commute, gas connection for cooking etc. Why such
discrimination? The new governmentis challenging that they have connected 90 percent of the villages
across Indiawithpowersupply. But, isitthe connectiononlytheyneed?Asperthe latestsurvey done in
villagesacrossIndia, the rural area isgetting3 hours of powersupplyon an average, and too in random
hours.The worldismovingtowardsthe advancementintechnology,those advancements helpstheurban
people to save their precious time where rural areas are not so advanced and hence they invest their
whole life toachieveaparticulargoal,so it's notmore productive. The pace of developmentinrural area
iscomparativelyslowandif nostepswill be takenagainstthis,thenthissectionwillcompletelylagandit
will become more difficult to bring them up.
Thencomestoeducation,itisthe birthrightof everychild togeteducated.Noonecomeswithfull-fledged
knowledge of all the things available on earth, child should be taught in their area of interest. In Rural
area, there are lessnumberof governmentschoolsavailable whichisprovidingeducationforfree.Parents
send their child to earn, at the age when they need to learn. Poverty is one of the factor causing child
labor in rural areas of our Country.
Above we have discussed about the challenges rural area of our country is facing. But counting on the
challenges will not help to bring them out from their suffering. We have to come up with a solution.
Our government is already running multiple schemes under which they are trying to mitigate those
challenges. Few of them are:
1. MGNREGA- Mahatma Gandhi National Rural Educational Guarantee Act
2. NRLM- National Rural Livelihood Mission
3. PMAY-G : Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojna - Grameen
4. PMGSY: Pradhan Mantri Gram Sadak Yojna
5. NSAP: National Social Assistance Programme
2. 6. IWMP: Integrated watershed Management Programme
There are many other schemes which are also currently active in rural areas.
The Rural Developmentcanbe done byimprovingthe facilitiesavailable foragriculture, openinggovt
schools and hospitals, the source of good communication for easy availability of information,

Education should be kept primarily for development of rural areas in the long term. Multiple small
scale industry should be openedfor their employment. The We all know there are limitedmoneyin
the market. The more you keep rotating the money from one to other sums more in one’s income.
This needs small business to be set up to increase the frequency of rotation.
Hopingthe newgovernmentwillcome upwithnewideastodealwiththe issue ofRural Development.
