The design team presented their land use and neighborhood plan for Lincoln Heights at a community event. They introduced themselves and provided an overview of the project which included analyzing existing land uses, street connectivity, entry points, walkability, and parking in Lincoln Heights. Attendees then participated in table talks to discuss strengths, weaknesses, opportunities, and threats for the neighborhood before the design team took additional questions. The goal was to get community input to help guide their planning process over the next few months.

Lincoln Heights
• Does not imply a single, integrated neighborhood
• Collection of typically incompatible uses
• Some exclusively industrial, others residential
Lincoln Park
• Concentration of retail, surrounded by residential
• Spatial organization around green spaces

The challenge will be to find ways to optimize the development of each
sub-area in the Lincoln Heights district and to make them as compatible
and complementary as possible.

The plan must also respond to the district’s topography, with higher ground along West 25th Street and
significantly lower ground to the east.
