manage one’s own & other people’s feelings
& emotions, & to act upon them in a reflective

8. Spiritual intelligence opens the heart,

connecting the individual human psyche to
the underlying ground of being.
SI can be developed with practice and can
help a person distinguish reality from illusion.
It can be expressed in and culture as love,
wisdom and service.
9. SI assist in finding the deepest & most inner
resources from an individual from which the
capacity to care, the power to tolerate &
adapt is obtained.
Development of a clear & stable sense of
identity among individuals especially in the
context of workplace relationship.
Helps in identifying and aligning personal
values of the employee with a clear sense of
purpose. By this work would be more
meaningful to employees.
10. Employee’s feelings are represented in terms
of the level of motivation, commitment and
engagement.
In a study conducted by Schumancher (2005)
on 34 supply managers & 102suppliers, it
was found that EI & SI does impact the
performance of supply managers. Successful
store managers who were good in managing
people’s feelings, handling stress & other
emotional intelligence competences achieved
higher net profits.

EI & SI when applied to the workplace,
involves the capacity to effectively perceive,
express, understand & manage emotions in a
professional & effective manner at work.
Helps to display better level of teamwork,
cooperation & interactive skills.
