Member of a team testing and installing a large number of systems in a major conversion project,
converting primarily manual and batch processes to a nation-wide on-line, real-time environment
Accomplishments
 Created test plans for the Purchasing and Vendor Invoice Processing systems
 Devised a means of using SuperKey to automate the execution and re-execution of test cases
Result: Data entry time was substantially reduced; data entry errors were eliminated; velocity of test
case execution greatly enhanced
 Selected as a member of the Systems Integration Team
 Chosen to lead the System Integration Mode Execution Plan team, responsible for the development
and scheduling of all test cases
 Designed a test plan methodology and the associated documentation forms
 Organized and wrote the System Integration Documentation manual
 Collaborated in the development, scheduling, and coordination of test cases to insure proper
communication between 22 subsystems
 Created new documentation forms to track the data through each of the test cases
Result: Test plan included Gantt Charts of the execution plan, test case notes and instructions, system and
screen cross-reference matrices, daily output reports, and multiple cross-reference lists. All test cases
were documented with expected results, allowing test cases to be tracked and restarted from any point

National Record Storage St. Louis, MO
Consultant, Systems Analyst
Inventory Control / Billing (Accounts Receivable)
Investigated the cause of why client’s master file was being destroyed during nightly processing
Accomplishments
 Documented system logic and data flow
 Identified malicious code (“Time Bomb”) installed by the Independent Consultant who originally
developed the Billing system
 Informed the client of the discovery
 Removed the malicious code and returned the clients system to a production status
 Identified and documented areas of possible improvements for the client’s consideration
10/1988 – 01/1989
Donohue, Rajkowski Law Firm St. Cloud, MN
Consultant, Systems Analyst
Project Lead
Legal
Designed, developed, and installed a scanned-input text data base system to be used in preparation for
litigation scheduled to begin April 1989. Client required system to be “up and running” no later than the
end of February to allow Attorneys sufficient time to become familiar with the system prior to courtroom
use
Accomplishments
 Located and recommended the purchase of a text data base manager (TextWare) which provided fast
search and retrieval capabilities, offered expandability from microcomputers to mainframes, and was
similar in format to a package with which the Attorneys were already familiar
 Result: Client “learning curve” was minimized due to similarity in User Interface between new system
and Lexis system
 Located and recommended the purchase of scanning hardware & software (Calaris) with substantial
improvement of character recognition over what Client was previously using
 Result: The Calaris board and associated software resulted in 95-98% character recognition vs. 50-
60%, greatly reducing proofreading and manual error correction efforts
 Organized material to be scanned, scheduled and prioritized work, and assigned tasks to 14 temporary
employees
 Designed and implemented file-naming conventions and an indexing system for the resulting scanned
text files
 Monitored document flow through the project phases (scanning, typing, proofing, data base
uploading)
 Constructed a program to read in text files prepared by an outside source and convert the data to a
format compatible with the new system
 Partnered with local hardware / network experts to design a 3-monitor system for courtroom use
2
where the Judge and Jury monitors could “echo” Council’s monitor at the Attorney’s discretion,
allowing the Attorney to display documents as they were presented as evidence
 Trained Users in the operation of the system and in the use of various utility packages (WordPerfect,
scanning software, and file recovery utilities)
 Created Users manuals and trained client management in project management principles for future
projects
Overall Result: Plaintiff dropped charges against firm’s client, thus avoiding inclusion in a $500 million
lawsuit (Plaintiff did continue litigation against other Defendants)
01/1989 – 03/1989
Monsanto Chemical Company / Agricultural Law Creve Coeur,
MO
Consultant, Systems Analyst / Programmer
Team Lead
Invoice Processing / Billing (Accounts Receivable)
Assisted in the design, development, and implementation of a multi-user dBASE electronic Invoice
Processing system
Accomplishments
 Initially assigned as a team member (Programmer), later promoted to the Team Lead position,
managing a team of 4 Programmers
 Scheduled, assigned work, tracked progress and reported project status to the Client
 Provided on-going support during the various phases of migration to the new system
 Co-authored the User’s Manual
04/1989 – 02/1990
Monsanto Chemical Company / Medical Records Creve Coeur,
MO
Consultant, Systems Analyst / Programmer
Medical Records
Designed, developed and implemented a PC network data entry system to replace the existing CICS data
entry system
Accomplishments
 Analyzed available PC based data entry packages including the development of a custom system in
dBASE or Paradox
 Recommended a software (RodePC) and hardware platform for the PC data entry system
 Designed, developed and implemented 30 PC based customized on-line programs
 Created training manuals and trained the data entry Operators in the use of the new system
 Produced thorough Systems documentation for turnover to client support personnel
3
 Designed, developed and implemented a secondary multi-user PC network system in Paradox to
capture and track deficient forms
 Automated identification of deficient forms at the time of data entry, directing the necessary
information to the Forms Tracking system
 Constructed programs allowing the client to correct the data and pass the completed form back to the
data entry system
 Developed reports to indicate which forms were identified as deficient, their point of origin, and the
length of time in a deficient status
Overall Result: The client was able to avoid all CICS “connect charges” (1 charge each time data entry
personnel pressed the “Enter” key), savings allowed the new system to pay for itself in under 12 months
02/1990 – 04/1990
Consolidated Aluminum Creve Coeur, MO
Consultant, Systems Analyst / Programmer
Purchasing
Designed, developed and implemented a Clipper-based Purchase Order Tracking system for futures buying
of multiple items with varying Delivery dates.
Accomplishments
 Analyzed Client needs and designed the system to work within the limits of the Clients existing
hardware
 Developed 42 Clipper programs allowing the Client to specify one total weight for a futures purchase
and "spread" the weight across multiple Items and/or delivery months. Programs also allowed the
client to modify the results of the "auto spread"
 Developed import / export capabilities between the system and the clients existing spreadsheet
software (SuperCalc 3)
 Created numerous reports using R&R Relational Report Writer allowing the client to add additional
reports as required in the future

Boatmen’s Trust St. Louis, MO
Consultant, Programmer Analyst
Accounting
Developed 54 COBOL programs in a CICS VSAM environment for four major on-line and batch systems:
Free Receipts, Vault Reconciliation, Puts & Calls, and Real Estate/EPA.
Accomplishments
 Devised a method where the user could assign or restrict system access and authority without needing
to involve MIS
 Created user and system documentation and trained users in the operation of the new systems
4
 Developed 15 interface batch and CICS programs for a major software conversion while maintaining
the existing Trust system
 Supported the applications staff as CICS expert
