2. Contemporary Music--The compositions that have adopted ideas
and elements from 20th Century Art Music in the West, as well as the
latest trends and musical style in the entertainment industry.
Francisco Santiago Santiago, PhD--. He is known as the “Father of
the Kundiman” and belongs to the “Triumvirate of Filipino
Composers”
Nicanor S. Abelardo---he building housing the College of Music in
UP Diliman was named in his honor for composing the melody for
the university’s official anthem, U.P. Naming Mahal
Antonio J. Molina----In 1973 a very well-known composer received
the first National Artist for Music, he is best known for his poignantly
romantic serenade for violin and piano Hatinggabi.
Francisco B. Buencamino SrHe wrote several zarzuelas and
kundimans which honored him a posthumous award with the
title “Outstanding Composer”.

3. Philippine Constabulary Band--- Col. Antonino R. Buenaventura was declared
National Artist for Music, in 1945 he restored a band which was reputedly likened
to a symphony orchestra and was considered “one of the best military bands in
the world” and later be renamed the Philippine Army Band.
Felipe P. De Leon Sr.---He received the award as National Artist for Music in
1997, his two operas Noli Me Tangere and El Filibusterismo are considered his
masterpieces and have been staged in the Philippines and abroad..
Lucio D. San Pedro He is known as a “ Romantic Nationalist, his chord have a
rich expressive tonality as represented in his well-loved “Sa Ugoy ng Duyan”, a
lullaby melody sung by his mother.
Raymundo “Ryan” P. Cayabyab --One of his composition is the award-winning
Kay Ganda ng Ating Musika on 1978, he is a popular contemporary composer
who also has classical compositions to his credit such as Misa, Four Poems
for Soprano and Piano and Te Deum.

Lucresia R.Kasilag ---She was the president of the Cultural Center of the
Philippines, as well as the President and Music Director of the Bayanihan
Dance Company. She also served as Chairman of the Asian Composers’
League and the League of Filipino Composers.
Manuel Maramba --- One of the most accomplished musician and liturgist
in the Philippines during the second half of the 20th Century. When he was
11years old, he gave his first public performance at the Bamboo Organ in
Las Piñas.

5. Levi Celerio---A prolific lyricist and composer, he was named National
Artist for Music and Literature in 1997, his achievements include a
citation in the Guinness Book of World Records for being the only
person to make music with a mouth-blown leaf.
Ang Bayan Ko ---A nationalistic song composed by Constancio C. De
Guzman and later adopted as the symbolic song of the People Power
Movement of 1986.

John K. Chua He has applied his photo artistry in showcasing the beauty of the
Philippines, he is best known as an advertising and commercial photographer.
Art/Indie Films--- A special genre of film that caters to a small group of viewers and
critics, consciously concerned with the artistic merits of a motion picture.
. Photography --During the late 19th century it was viewed as a purely technical process
that of recording visible images by light action on light-sensitive materials and was not
immediately considered an art.
Cinematographe-- A peepshow cabinet where the motor inside moved the film strip
along in a loop, with an electric bulb providing illumination from beneath to view the
moving images.

8. Animation--- It is the process of creating the illusion of motion and shape change by
means of the rapid display of sequence of static images that minimally differ from each
other.
Tony Velasquez--- He created the comic strips Mga Kabalbalan ni Kenkoy, he also
went on to be recognized as the “Father of Filipino Comics”.
Animation Council of the Philippines Inc. A nonstock, nonprofit organization that aims to
create an identity for the Philippines within the animation industry, making it one of the
preferred sources for animation services worldwide.
Cinematographe A hand-cranked camera, printer, and projector all in one that was
lightweight enough to bring outside the studio.

animahenasyon---An annual festival and competition featuring the works of Filipino
animators.
Marilou Diaz Abaya ---Directed the film Jose Rizal on 1998 which perfectly timed for the
centennial celebration of Philippine independence, she also captured the attention and
respect of the viewing public with her powerful films such as Muro-ami and Bagong
Buwan.
Maryo J. Delos Reyes-- A veteran film director who directed the heartwarming drama film
Magnifico won for him the Best Director distinction at the 2003 FAMAS Award and
garnered other local and international film awards as well.

World Health Organization The primary international body responsible for
developing leadership in health, setting norms and standards and providing
health support among nations around the world
