Career Objectives:
To ensure the on time delivery of projects according to the scope and budget by being a
passionate hands-on project manager following project methodology and processes fit for the
specific project.
Experience:
Since February 2003, I have been employed by UTi where I currently hold the position of
Regional Project Manager.
As Project Manager, my responsibilities included the development of the project methodology
and process used for all projects (business as well as IT specific), as well as the project
management templates and maintaining all project management templates as per the UTi
project methodology. I am also leading project teams in during all phases of the project,
facilitating meetings such as progress meetings, issue and risk reviews, kick-off meetings as well
as coordinating of all project activities. As project manager, I am responsible for creating and
maintaining all project as per the UTi project methodology, such as project charters, project
management plans, schedules (using MS Project), risk management, budget proposals and
change request documentation.
I gained extensive experience on management of software development as well as IT
infrastructure on multiple global projects. I also had extensive exposure in managing project
activities performed by virtual teams across the globe, including contractors of a vendor
based in India (HCL).
In my previous position at UTi I gained 2 years experience as a Software Test Engineer during
which I was also the Quality Services Manager, leading a team of 11 employees, of which 5
people were in South Africa, and 6 people were located in Chennai, India. As a team we
were responsible for overall quality of the global applications of UTi and were also responsible
for performance testing, using HP Load Runner. I was task to establish a new testing team in
Portland, Oregon, US, and to roll out our test strategy to the new development team in
Portland. However, this ultimately implies relocating to the US, which I was unable to do,
therefore I applied internally for a project management position.
I am well organised and hardworking; have an active and inquiring mind and is looking for an
opportunity that is both challenging and stimulating. I am a loyal and dedicated person. I give
extensive attention to detail and therefore my work is accurate and on time.
I have a B.PRIM.ED degree from the University of Pretoria with Mathematics as major. I have

To implement a new WMS application for UTi that is lightweight and cost effective.
Project Objectives:
• Implement Pilot Site for UTi WMS Lite
• Replace existing operational processes with UTI WMS Lite standard processes.
• Standardize reporting & visibility offering defined and implemented for both business
lines.
Team Size:
• 10 Core team members from UTi (Global)
• 3 Team members from Cquential
• 5 Pilot branch team members (Johannesburg)
Project Outcome: Successfully completed.
2. Project Manager: CIC Mounties Implementation (Sep 2011 – Mar 2014)
Project Purpose:
To roll out the CIC Contact Centre application out to Mounties Head Office in Gordon Road,
as well as 15 regional branches.
Project Objectives:
• Implement the application in the MTN Data Centre
• Lead all aspects of the project, with regards to branch readiness, training and GO LIVE
support at each branch.
Team Size:
• 12 Core team members from UTi in South Africa (Johannesburg)
• 4 Team members from Elingo
• 15 Branch Managers with their branch teams (Regional)
Project Outcome: Successfully completed.
3. Project Manager: Evolution Rollout Project (Jan 2011 – Sep 2011)
Project Purpose:
To roll out the mobile handheld devices for all branched is South Africa in UTI Sun Couriers.
Project Objectives:
• Roll Out Devices to all branches
• Lead all aspects of the project, with regards to branch readiness, training and GO LIVE
support at each branch.
Team Size:
• 20 UTi employees in South Africa (Regional)
Project Outcome: Successfully completed, handheld device solution still in use.
4. Program Manager : Global Applications Transitioning (15Dec08 – 6Apr09)
Project Purpose :
To transition all the application knowledge to the new outsourced development and support
teams located in India. A total of 26 applications were included in the program.
Project Objectives:
• To equip the new development team with adequate knowledge to fully support the
global UTi applications, as well as implementing any new enhancements.
• To design new processes for change, release and incident management to
accommodate the new Enterprise IT structure that includes offshore development and
support teams.
Team Size: 30 people

• 20 HCL employees in India (Chennai / Bangalore)
Project Outcome: Successfully completed, new EIT structure with offshore development and
support teams is implemented.
5. Oracle 10G Upgrade – Node Consolidation (7Aug07 – 10Nov08)
Project Purpose:
To successfully consolidate all three uTrac nodes in to one Node located in the NOC, and to
upgrade to oracle 10G release 2.
Project Objectives:
• Eliminate replication and associated problems.
• Consolidate all uBase nodes into a single global node located in the NOC.
• Provide redundancy and failover that will support the need for 24x7 availability
• Upgrade the underlying operating platforms to the most recent versions
• Separate functions of various DB's - i.e. transactional (uBase) separate from reporting
(for performance reasons)
• To ensure at least the same application performance in comparison with the current
performance baseline on Oracle 8.1.7.

leveraging the Integration Framework.

• Define standard message formats for exchanging data between UniTi and integration
framework, trading partners, customs and internal/external systems.
• Implement standard message formats between UniTi and Integration Framework.
• Implement UniTi interface to uBase through USI.
• Implement agreed set of messages to Trading Partners.
• Implement agreed interfaces to Internal and External Applications.
• Implement Common Services for Monitoring & Logging

7. Oracle 10G Upgrade – NOC applications (27Nov06 – 29Aug07)
Project Purpose
To successfully upgrade the NOC databases to oracle 10G RAC.
Project Objectives
• To convert the NOC Oracle databases on the servers Oracle (with the following
applications running on it: Tibco Portal applications, Cognos and Data Warehouse ETL)
and NEO (eMpower5 JAVA based web application) to Oracle10G
• To ensure at least the same application performance in comparison with the current
performance baseline on Oracle 9i.
• To address the GCC gaps during the 10G upgrade

Warehouse – Storer – Client relationship.
• To include the ability to update the email address attribute on Warehouse level.

TO WHOM IT MAY CONCERN Career Objectives: To ensure the on time delivery of projects according to the scope and budget by being a passionate hands-on project manager following project methodology and processes fit for the specific project. Experience: Since February 2003, I have been employed by UTi where I currently hold the position of Regional Project Manager. As Project Manager, my responsibilities included the development of the project methodology and process used for all projects (business as well as IT specific), as well as the project management templates and maintaining all project management templates as per the UTi project methodology. I am also leading project teams in during all phases of the project, facilitating meetings such as progress meetings, issue and risk reviews, kick-off meetings as well as coordinating of all project activities. As project manager, I am responsible for creating and maintaining all project as per the UTi project methodology, such as project charters, project management plans, schedules (using MS Project), risk management, budget proposals and change request documentation. I gained extensive experience on management of software development as well as IT infrastructure on multiple global projects. I also had extensive exposure in managing project activities performed by virtual teams across the globe, including contractors of a vendor based in India (HCL). In my previous position at UTi I gained 2 years experience as a Software Test Engineer during which I was also the Quality Services Manager, leading a team of 11 employees, of which 5 people were in South Africa, and 6 people were located in Chennai, India. As a team we were responsible for overall quality of the global applications of UTi and were also responsible for performance testing, using HP Load Runner. I was task to establish a new testing team in Portland, Oregon, US, and to roll out our test strategy to the new development team in Portland. However, this ultimately implies relocating to the US, which I was unable to do, therefore I applied internally for a project management position. I am well organised and hardworking; have an active and inquiring mind and is looking for an opportunity that is both challenging and stimulating. I am a loyal and dedicated person. Program Manager : Global Applications Transitioning (15Dec08 – 6Apr09) Project Purpose : To transition all the application knowledge to the new outsourced development and support teams located in India. Project Objectives: • To equip the new development team with adequate knowledge to fully support the global UTi applications, as well as implementing any new enhancements. • To design new processes for change, release and incident management to accommodate the new Enterprise IT structure that includes offshore development and support teams. Project Objectives: • Eliminate replication and associated problems. • Consolidate all uBase nodes into a single global node located in the NOC. • Provide redundancy and failover that will support the need for 24x7 availability • Upgrade the underlying operating platforms to the most recent versions • Separate functions of various DB's - i.e. transactional (uBase) separate from reporting (for performance reasons) • To ensure at least the same application performance in comparison with the current performance baseline on Oracle 8.1.7.
