 Subrato Roy Sahara is an Indian businessman who
was born on 10 June 1948 at Araria (40 km. north to
Poornia, Bihar).
 He is the chairman and Managing Worker of the
Sahara Group of companies based in India fondly
known as the “Sahara India Pariwar”.
The beginning
In the year 1978, he opened a small office in Gorakhpur
(Uttar Pradesh). He started with savings of Rs. 2000 and
a Lambretta scooter.
In a span of just 29 years, the Sahara India Pariwar has
grown from just 42 depositors in all and a single
establishment in the beginning to over 6.1 crore
depositors through 1707 establishments, across the
nation.
Sahara
 Company Profile Today, Sahara group is worth over
$10 billion and is the largest first generation
conglomerate of India. Them Sahara Group was
termed by the Time magazine as ‘the second largest
employer in India after the Indian Railways’.
Type theory
 According to type theory, people are grouped into
identifiable categories as per the body structure.
 Subrata Roy is always well dressed, he knows how to
express his opinion in public and hah a neat gift of being
humorous
 People having Type A personality are always moving,
walking and eating rapidly. They feel impatient with the
speed the events take place. They always strive to do
two or three thing at any one time and cannot cope with
leisure. They are generally obsessed with work
involved with numbers.

Trait theorists are primarily interested in the measurement
of traits, which can be defined as habitual patterns of
behavior, thought, and emotion.

He started with savings of Rs. 2000 and a Lambretta
scooter to over 6.1 crore depositors through 1707
establishments, across the nation. He has created an
empire of over Rs.50,000 crore which is now recognized
as one of the fastest growing business groups in the
country.
 INNOVATIVE
All Promoters, Shareholders, Directors and Partners are
from the workers' rank and have taken an oath through a
notary affidavit in the court of law that neither they nor
their family members can ever share the profit or assets
of the company.
FLEXIBILE
The group is successfully diversified into Infrastructure
and Housing (real state), Media (news channels and
news-paper), Entertainment (TV channels and film
production), Aviation. It intends to move into Finance,
Information Technology, Tourism and Hospitality, Life
Insurance and Consumer Products, with many projects
already in the pipeline.
 CONSISTENT
subrata Roy has been at the helm of Sahara affairs for
about more than 20 years.

This trait includes characteristics such as excitability,
sociability, talkativeness, assertiveness, and high
amounts of emotional expressiveness. Sociable,
gregarious, and assertive He readily expresses his views
on the issues. Like while selling his IPL team he
openly in media admitted that he is not happy with the
BCCI.
 AGREEABLENESS
This personality dimension includes attributes such as
trust, altruism, kindness, affection, and other pro social
behaviors. Good-natured, cooperative, and trusting. His
attitude towards his employees shows this.
 CONSCIENTIOUSNESS
Common features of this dimension include high levels of
thoughtfulness, with good impulse control and goal-
directed behaviors Responsible, dependable, persistent,
and organized. He is never said to be loosing control even
he is arrested. This thing shows that.
Emotional Stability
 Individuals high in this trait tend to experience emotional
instability, anxiety, moodiness, irritability, and sadness.
 calm, self-confident, secure (positive) versus nervous,
depressed, and insecure (negative).

 OPENNESS TO EXPERIENCE
• These trait features characteristics such as imagination
and insight, and those high in this trait also tend to
have a broad range of interests.
• His expansion in business shows his openness to
experience.
Psychoanalytic theory
 Sigmund Freud determined that Personality consists of three
different elements, the id , the ego and the superego .
 The id is the aspect of personality that s driven by internal
and basic drives an needs. Id is in accordance with Pleasure
Principle.
 The ego is driven by reality principle.
 The Super ego is driven by morality principle.
 I believe he posses super ego.
Motivational theory
“We are a family, not just a business organization” . “We
don’t work for a company, we work for ourselves, for the
growth of our Pariwar” . by Sahara chairmans reiterate the
above facts.” Said by subrata roy. from founding and
scaling up his company to astonishing levels, he has
instilled the feelings of oneness among the workers (so
comes the'' SAHARA PARIWAR”) to inculcate the feelings
of unity and vibrancy in the company. He always kept
emotions above economics, principles above profit,
values above wealth and conscience above corporation.


  • 3. background  Subrato Roy Sahara is an Indian businessman who was born on 10 June 1948 at Araria (40 km. north to Poornia, Bihar).  He is the chairman and Managing Worker of the Sahara Group of companies based in India fondly known as the “Sahara India Pariwar”.
  • 4. The beginning In the year 1978, he opened a small office in Gorakhpur (Uttar Pradesh). He started with savings of Rs. 2000 and a Lambretta scooter. In a span of just 29 years, the Sahara India Pariwar has grown from just 42 depositors in all and a single establishment in the beginning to over 6.1 crore depositors through 1707 establishments, across the nation.
  • 5. Sahara  Company Profile Today, Sahara group is worth over $10 billion and is the largest first generation conglomerate of India. Them Sahara Group was termed by the Time magazine as ‘the second largest employer in India after the Indian Railways’.
  • 6. Type theory  According to type theory, people are grouped into identifiable categories as per the body structure.  Subrata Roy is always well dressed, he knows how to express his opinion in public and hah a neat gift of being humorous

  • 9.  CAPABLE He started with savings of Rs. 2000 and a Lambretta scooter to over 6.1 crore depositors through 1707 establishments, across the nation. He has created an empire of over Rs.50,000 crore which is now recognized as one of the fastest growing business groups in the country.
  • 10.  INNOVATIVE All Promoters, Shareholders, Directors and Partners are from the workers' rank and have taken an oath through a notary affidavit in the court of law that neither they nor their family members can ever share the profit or assets of the company.
  • 11. FLEXIBILE The group is successfully diversified into Infrastructure and Housing (real state), Media (news channels and news-paper), Entertainment (TV channels and film production), Aviation. It intends to move into Finance, Information Technology, Tourism and Hospitality, Life Insurance and Consumer Products, with many projects already in the pipeline.

  • 13. Big 5 model of personality  EXTROVERSION This trait includes characteristics such as excitability, sociability, talkativeness, assertiveness, and high amounts of emotional expressiveness. Sociable, gregarious, and assertive He readily expresses his views on the issues. Like while selling his IPL team he openly in media admitted that he is not happy with the BCCI.
  • 14.  AGREEABLENESS This personality dimension includes attributes such as trust, altruism, kindness, affection, and other pro social behaviors. Good-natured, cooperative, and trusting. His attitude towards his employees shows this.
  • 15.  CONSCIENTIOUSNESS Common features of this dimension include high levels of thoughtfulness, with good impulse control and goal- directed behaviors Responsible, dependable, persistent, and organized. He is never said to be loosing control even he is arrested. This thing shows that.
  • 16. Emotional Stability  Individuals high in this trait tend to experience emotional instability, anxiety, moodiness, irritability, and sadness.  calm, self-confident, secure (positive) versus nervous, depressed, and insecure (negative). • Subrata Roy was self confident and calm.
  • 17.  OPENNESS TO EXPERIENCE • These trait features characteristics such as imagination and insight, and those high in this trait also tend to have a broad range of interests. • His expansion in business shows his openness to experience.
  • 18. Psychoanalytic theory  Sigmund Freud determined that Personality consists of three different elements, the id , the ego and the superego .  The id is the aspect of personality that s driven by internal and basic drives an needs. Id is in accordance with Pleasure Principle.  The ego is driven by reality principle.  The Super ego is driven by morality principle.  I believe he posses super ego.

Motivational theory “We are a family, not just a business organization” . “We don’t work for a company, we work for ourselves, for the growth of our Pariwar” . by Sahara chairmans reiterate the above facts.” Said by subrata roy. from founding and scaling up his company to astonishing levels, he has instilled the feelings of oneness among the workers (so comes the'' SAHARA PARIWAR”) to inculcate the feelings of unity and vibrancy in the company. He always kept emotions above economics, principles above profit, values above wealth and conscience above corporation. 
