1. 1160 Technical Support Consultant
P3 £45,000 to £50,000 plus 10% bonus and out of hours
This position is a hands-on, customer facing, senior support level technical services position. The
ideal candidate is a customer oriented, technology savvy self-starter, with an interest in Enterprise
Storage Solutions and possessing strong troubleshooting skills. The position may be filled in
Sefton Park, UK or other European locations will be considered.
As a consultant, you will be a critical member of a small and highly skilled global team working
closely with HDS Hitachi engineering to help OEMs, resellers and end users implement
successful solutions using HDS' growing Enterprise product line.
Job Functions:
1) Advising HDS customers and partners regarding best practices for integration and use of
HDS products;
2) Assisting HDS customers with troubleshooting integration and deployment problems;
3) Defining issues and driving resolution with HDS engineering and OEMs;
4) Replicating customer solution environments in our labs and execute diagnostic,
performance, and other tests;
Additionally, Support Consultants will have the opportunity to:
1) Perform short professional services engagements in support of GSS;
2) Deliver partner and customer training;
3) Help select and qualify server, storage, and network technologies for HDS products
Required:
1) 10+ years experience with post sales support of enterprise class solutions including
servers, Enterprise storage, and network integration including installation, diagnostics,
performance, and troubleshooting;
2) Strong experience with OS skills, Mainframe and Open Systems
3) Strong Enterprise Storage troubleshooting experience
4) Good knowledge of connectivity technologies so excellent level 3 Brocade and CISCO
experience is important
5) Excellent customer skills, ability to work with senior level customer, vendor and internal
technical personnel
6) Excellent written and oral communications skills.
Desirable:
1) Willingness to travel (approximately 10%)
