RESOLUTION XX – XXX
A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF HERMOSA BEACH,
CALIFORNIA, ESTABLISHING FINES FOR VIOLATION OF THE SOCIAL HOST
ORDINANCE; ESTABLISHING A PERMIT FEE FOR REGISTERING A DRONE,
UNMANNED AIRCRAFT OR MODEL AIRCRAFT; ESTABLISHING A FEE FOR
VIOLATIONS RELATING TO RENTAL OF RESIDENTIAL PROPERTIES FOR
FEWER THAN THIRTY DAYS; AND TO ADD EACH OF THESE FEES TO THE
MASTER FEE RESOLUTION
SECTION 1. Recitals – Social Host Ordinance.
1. Pursuant to the Hermosa Beach Municipal Code Section 1.10.050 the City
Council through resolution may resolve that an administrative penalty shall be
assessed by means of an administrative citation issued by an enforcement officer,
which shall be payable directly to the City Treasurer. A portion of each penalty
shall constitute reimbursement for the City’s administrative expenses in issuing
and processing the citation.
2. Recitals – Drone, Unmanned Aircraft or Model Aircraft
A new Ordinance No. 16-1363 was adopted by the City Council regulating
drones, unmanned aircraft and model aircraft and requiring a City permit to
operate within the City. The permit is renewable annually. The initial permit fee
and renewal fee shall constitute reimbursement for the City’s administrative
expenses in issuing and processing the permits.
3. Recitals – Rental of Residential Properties for Fewer than Thirty Days

A new Ordinance No. 16-1365 was adopted by the City Council regarding rental
of residential properties for fewer than thirty days in order to prohibit said activity
within residential zoning districts.
NOW, THEREFORE THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF HERMOSA
BEACH, CALIFORNIA, DOES HEREBY RESOLVE AS FOLLOWS:
SECTION 2. That the following fines be added to the City's Master Fee Schedule
for violations of Municipal Code Section 9.28.030 as follows:
Social Host Ordinance Fee

violation in a 12 month period $2,500.00
2nd
violation in a 12 month period $3,500.00
3rd
and subsequent violation in a 12 month period $5,000.00
That the following annual permit and annual renewal fees be added to the City’s Master
Fee Schedule for registering a drone, unmanned aircraft or model aircraft:
