Education Highlights
Password Generator
• Wrote an application in Visual C# which generates random passwords, with a
history function so old passwords cannot be reused. Application would be installed
on individual computers and was password protected as well.
Mass File Rename’r
• Wrote an application in Visual Basic which grabs every non-directory file in a
directory and renames every file accordingly to the wishes of the user. This includes
2. files marked as ‘Read Only’ and ‘Hidden’. It keeps the file-type intact and it has
two options: ‘Random’, where the names are randomly generated strings, and
‘Order’, where the names are in order from 1 to infinity. Application would be
installed on individual computers.
Word Tutorial
• Recorded a short 5-minute video for my college showing how to use some of the
less commonly known features of Microsoft Word. Included subtitles.
Creation of PHP/mySQL Server
• Created a mySQL server on a local school machine and wrote php pages to work
with it.
Bit-Torrent Detector
• Used Snort to configure a wire-sniffer program that would detect the handshake
packets of a bit-torrent program, across a multide of programs, across the local
intranet, and send an email alert with information once one is detected. Provided
documentation on how to easily manipulate the program further to meet the
consumer's needs.
Super Computer
• Joined together eight computers into a cluster machine, where one was the host
node, one was the dhcp node, and six were the zombie nodes. Then using a program
to sync them together, they could take python commands sepeartely and return to
the host machine their work. Once it was over, we (it was a long-term group
project) wrote documentation showing step-by-step how to do it more easily than
the guides we found.
