  • 3. EDUCATIONAL ACTIVITIES BUILDING • Occupies 51,000 square feet of land on campus • Houses civil, mechanical, and electrical labs • $20 million in construction costs
  • 4. STUDENT ENRICHMENT CENTER • Occupies 70,000 square feet of land on campus • Houses an auditorium, spiritual center, bookstore, and dinning • Roughly $30 million in construction costs
  • 5. BUILDING INFORMATION MODELING (BIM) • Process involving the generation and management of models. • BIM was incorporated into the virtual model of the buildings. • Features – Clash Detection – Schedule and Quantity Connection – Estimates
  • 6. BENEFITS OF UTILIZING BIM • Architecture: Ability to create 3D model of design concept. • Structural: Help streamline products, enhance collaborative work, and reduce risk. • MEP: Improve collaboration and communication, and streamline project delivery of design, fabrication, and installation. • Owner: delivers demonstrable value from design, through construction, and into operations.

  • 11. OUR PROPOSED ENHANCEMENT • Materials – Precast concrete – Brick – Large curtainwall • Usability – Adds over 368 parking spaces • Size – 240,000 square feet 3 story parking facility
  • 12. PARKING ANALYSIS • Total current parking spaces: over 2000 • Parking spaces throughout construction: 1643 (15.3% decrease) • Parking spaces after the completion: 2199 (18.4% increase)

TRAFFIC DENSITY • Applicable to foot and vehicle traffic density • Peak high density hours - Class transition period - Morning arrivals - Afternoon departures • Peak average to low density hours - Late evening and early morning class times - During class times - Any other off peak time periods
  • 15. VEHICLE TRAFFIC • Two access points - O Street - Wharton Avenue • 100 ft. minimum site distance • Suspended and wall mounted directions
