2. Description and information
Kawasaki disease is a disease in which the medium-sized
blood vessels throughout the body become inflamed.
It is an autoimmune disease, which means that the failure
of an organism in recognizing its own constituent parts
as self, thus leading to an immune response against its own
cells and tissues.

the musculoskeletal system and connective tissue) in tenth
edition.
4. Symptoms
Bilateral, non-exudative conjunctivitis .
Strawberry tongue and bright red, swollen lips with
vertical cracking and bleeding.
painful, brawny swelling of the back of the hands.
Redness of the palms.
5. Tests
There are a few test we can take to know if we have the
desease , are this:
Chest x-ray
Blood test
Ultrasound
Electrocardiogram
PCR ( reactive C protein)
6. Genetic explication
The cause of Kawasaki disease is unknown, but is
suspected of having an infectious origin.
Kawasaki disease is not inherited, although it is
suspected that there may be a genetic
predisposition.
7. Treatments
Patients with Kawasaki disease should be hospitalized.
Patient must be analized by cardiology, rheumatology,
and infectious disease specialists.
the standard treatment for Kawasaki is intravenous
immunoglobulin is administered in high doses.
Intravenous immunoglobulin is a blood
product administered intravenously.
