Micro – extremely small
Macro - large-scale; overall
Mega - very large; huge.
Giga – (a unit of measurement) means
1,000,000,000; a Gigabyte is a billion
bytes
5. - A trend persists and continues
because people have seen it as part
of a society's culture. A trend shows
a transitory increase or decrease of a
particular idea, event or
phenomenon. It is wider than cool
hunting and refers more generally
to the study of trends and the way
they develop and affect society.
- A significant characteristic of a trend is its
capacity to make sudden surprises and
reversals that we can see around us. It is by
exploring the emergence where we can
anticipate the challenges and future plans. It
includes the countries whose economies are
growing as the number of jobs increases. This
said trend is urgent.
- Another characteristic of a trend is that it
interlocks and overlaps with other trends. Asian
countries formed groups that address security,
economics and political stability in order to
compete with other global forces.

all the time, the tiny shifts that occur in
everything from clothes we wear and
the snacks we eat to the way, play,
love.
- These trends happen right now and are
outright observable.
- Are synonymous
with fads.
- They offer a
glimpse about
the future
through the clues
they possess.

microtrends or
more sweeping
changes that are
affecting society
- They provide
major changes that
are perceptible in
the societal level
for longer period.
- These are more stable than micro trends.

that have grown up
and moved out. They
are big and bold, and
affect the lives of
great swathes of the
human race.
- They can last for
decades and are
“so pervasive as to
be generally
known.

than one aspect of life or

- Usually identifies to define an era.

of things, thus a trend
has constituent parts
or portion that are
interrelated.

A pattern is a design, shape, form or configuration
that emerges from repetitious appearance of lines,
curves and behaviour. In the study of trends,
repetitive behaviour that gives rise to an emerging
pattern is the main interest.
