2. Introduction
• Oliver Twist or, The Parish Boy’s Progress
written by Charles Dickens was Published in
the serial form in 1837-1839.
• Nancy was the member of Fagin’s gang, Victim
of Bill Sikes and the lover.
• Nancy consider as a most important character
in ‘Oliver Twist’.

3. Complicated Character
 Nancy is the complex, sympathetic and totally
tragic character of the novel.
 Why does she helped Oliver to escape from
the Fagin gang?
 “I thieved for you when I was a child as old as
Oliver, I have been In the same trade, and in
the same service for twelve years; don’t you
know it? Speak out don’t you know it?”
