TITLE OF THE WORK: OLIVER TWIST
The novel "Oliver Twist" is one of the great works of the English
writer Charles Dickens.
The structure of the story consists of 53 chapters, first it was
published in installments and at the end of 1838 the volume of the
whole story was printed together.
It is a narrative text written in prose form about the life of the
criminals of the English underworld whose protagonist is a child.
STRUCTURE OF THE NOVEL OLIVER
TWIST
Oliver Twist "by Charles Dickens has several themes being the
following:
The failure of charity, the recklessness of individualism, purity in a
corrupt city and the idealized countryside.
The failure of charity is depicted when Oliver challenges the church and
government over the Poor Law of 1834.
The recklessness of individualism is manifested through the thought
that society would benefit from self-caring citizens and the
consequences of those actions.
The country is shown to be idealized through the treatment of the poor.
The poor in this novel are treated unfairly and suffer the most when they
live in the city, but Oliver finds a more pleasant existence when he goes
to the country.

CHARACTERS OF THE NOVEL OLIVER TWIST
Oliver is an orphan boy who spends his early years at Mrs.
Mann's orphanage. Like the rest of the children at the orphanage,
Oliver continually suffers from hunger. Thus, Oliver becomes an
apprentice to the Undertaker Sowerberry; However, he fights with
an employee of the undertaker and decides to escape to London.
This great book, with a somewhat dark plot, takes hold in the era
of Victorian England, where mafias were very common among
the marginalized of the poor. Led by a wise narrator, we can
notice the humor and mischief of the author, in the way of
contrasting well differentiated social classes for the historical
context.
A work of social criticism, where it reflects very vividly, criminality,
child exploitation, all this coupled with the industrialism of the city
that causes an increase in migration
SUMMARY OF THE NOVEL OLIVER TWIST
The work of "Oliver Twist" is that despite the
circumstances we are the ones who choose the
course of our path, no one can force us to take
a path that we do not want, neither positive nor
negative.
Oliver Twist was a young man who lost his
mother, he lived through many difficult
circumstances, and had many friends who
wanted him to take a wrong path, but Oliver
under his principles managed to overcome all
difficulties and take the right path.
MESSAGE FROM THE NOVEL OLIVER
TWIST
The story of Oliver Twist is a sad and hard story, but with a happy ending. It
seemed to me that the plot is very well structured, the characters are very
successful and the environment, the settings where the story takes place are
perfect.
Oliver Twist, in addition to a story with an illustrious narrative, is a literary
description of a London with lights and shadows. Charles Dickens uses a little
orphan to narrate his own hero path. And it is that, throughout the work, the
protagonist is finding characters different from him.
Oliver Twist is innocent, idyllic and very passionate. That is to say, his alter ego
in the play pretends to be a good person and he succeeds, despite being
surrounded by crime. That is to say, he even more ponders the figure of himself.
Conceived as a harsh social criticism, Oliver Twist never tires of demonstrating
the injustices and bad arts proposed by the society of the time.
In the end, the work has an educational aspect that many people adapted to
their way of being. For example, the way he describes the mistreatment at the
orphanage is explicitly scary.
