IPhoto Technology Study Guide
IPhoto is an Apple software used
to do basic editing, uploading,
and storing images. IPhoto
allows all users who have Apple
computers to upload images from
a camera, smartphone, zip drive,
etc… and store them into an
electronic photo library. This
technology is used for basic level
photo storage as well as basic
level editing and picture
modification.
Each Upload sections is uploaded
into files called “events” which
can be merged together, added to or withdrawn from, time stamped, tagged by location, and a multitude of other
categorization methods. IPhoto also allows each user to make Albums where you can create slideshows and
printable albums.
My favorite aspects of IPhoto is the photo editing feature. Each image has the ability to be edited within IPhoto
on a basic level of photo shopping standards (when compared to photo editing software such as Photoshop).
2. One of the easiest ways to make a quick fix to a picture is to Enhance the lighting by pressing the “Enhance”
button. This automatically tells the software to fix the lighting of the photograph to what the software thinks
will look best.
Another great way to fix a photograph is to “Crop” the picture. Choose from the preset measurements or click
the custom size option.
3. IPhoto also offers the “Effects” Category where you can change the style of a picture ranging from Sepia to
Black & White.
The picture below displays the “Antique” effect.
4. Lastly, one of my favorite aspects of IPhoto is the Retouch option. Although it does not offer the wide array of
options Photoshop offers, the retouch option can fix blemishes, unwanted bra showings, etc…
In the pictures below you will see the before and after of the same picture. As you can see, the image now has
more of a “Summer time” vibe as well as blends in the bra that was visible from under my tank top.
5. Apple’s Website offers a wide assortment of help and support for IPhoto which is easy to refer to and simple to
follow along!
