3. This stage mostly
involved using
paper based and web
based
resources in order to
research and analysis
information on
Music Videos
4. During this stage
there was very little
use of new media
technologies
This is mainly
because it was
simple and faster to
write and draw
things down onto
paper.
5. During this stage
search engines
and a variety of
different sites
and paper
based resources
were used in
order to
research and
understand
Music Videos.
6. Web 2.0 sites YouTube,
Vimeo and Wikipedia
Were helpful resources
for gathering
information.
10. This stage also
involved little
use of media
technologies
as most of it
involved
writing/drawing
11. Smartphones used
to take pictures of
work.
Handheld
lightweight
allowed us to take
many pictures and
explore areas and
travel with ease.
12. Convergence
This allowed us to have
one device capable of
everything we needed.
With just a smartphone• Photos
• Filming
• Communication required for planning
• Store information such as:
• Notes
• Lyrics
• Plans
• Ideas
15. The hardware used for filming
were the DSLR’s which were
the Nikon D7000 and the
Canon EOS100D.
My laptop was also used for
editing. My mobile phone was
very useful for storing
information we needed such
as lyrics and the actually track.
16. At one point we attempted
to use two DSLR’s hoping to
improve efficiency.
However it ended up doing
the complete opposite and
just ended up becoming
confusing, so I found that
focusing on a single camera
was better because we
could concentrate on one
shot at a time.
17. However it could have been very useful in
the slow motion scene where we film a
phone smash as we had to take both POV
shot and close up of the shot in two
different takes.
18. Looking at the footage we have
taken it was a good idea to focus
on using one camera. We may
have made many more mistakes if
we had carried on using both
cameras.
19. The software which I used the most during this stage
were Photoshop, Adobe After Effects and Lightroom.
20. After Effects was the video
editing software that I used.
Using it I had access to many
effects. It is a software that I
am quite familiar with as I
have used during my free
time.
21. Its quite simple to use it allows me
to organise footage with ease and
manipulate the footage in more
ways compared to iMovie which
felt limited in its interface and did
not give enough options or
freedom to manipulate the
footage.
22. Photoshop was
used in order to
manipulate the
image changing
cropping it
changing details
and adding effects
to the image. It was
also used in order to
add text and logos.
23. So Photoshop was the
main software used for
creating the Magazine
Advert and the Digipak.
24. Lightroom was
used in order to
preview the
images and
allowed for very
precise and
effective
changes to the
images
properties such
as contrast and
colour balance.
25. Since both Photoshop and Lightroom both worked
in compatible formats mainly JPEG. I was able to
transfer the images between the two software as
well as convert it to use in other software.
26. As well as the software installed
into my Laptop I was also able to
use online based software such as
Prezi which I could access using a
web browser. I used this in order to
present my research.
28. I have used the
software
Microsoft
PowerPoint in
order to create a
slide show.
29. Using Adobe After
Effects again I was
able to present the
first evaluation
question as a video.
However I could
have probably used
a much simpler
editing software as I
did not need any
effects or features
built into after effects
