MOV:- Motor operated valves can be used to completely allow or completely Stop the
flow of fluid. These valves are mostly used for on–off and inching
service. These valves are not used for throttling purposes since they
mainly serve on-off service application. But now used in throttling
purpose.

1- Pneumatic Control valve have a faster response as compared to
Motorized valves.
2- Pneumatic Control valve can be used for any types of control like
Pressure Control, Temperature control, Flow Control etc. while Motorized
valves are used for flow control.
3- Pneumatic Control Valve are used in close loop control while
Motorized valve are used in open loop control.
4- Pneumatic Control Valve have an analog control element while the
Motorized have a digital control element.

Theair set provides the required
instrument air for the control valve
and its accessories.Theusual
components are an air regulator
and afilter to ensure dry air for
the instruments. In many cases,a
combined filter regulator isused.

Control Systems(PLC,DCS,SCADA)
In most modern industrial facilities, the control system is electronic or digital,
however most of the control valves are operated by pneumatic actuators. The
transducer will convert the standard 4 to 20 mA electronic signal to the required 3-15
psi signal. Thecurrent-to pneumatic (air) transducer, commonly referred to asan I/P
transducer is arelatively simple device and literally produced by all instrument
manufacturers. Although the appearance may vary, the principle of operations is
similar for allmanufacturers.

Working Principle of Positioner
Acontrol valve positioner is a device used to increase or decrease the air load
pressure driving the actuator until the valves stem reaches a position balance
to the output signal from the process variable instrument controller.
Positioner are generally used on controlling valves where accurate and
rapid control is required without error or hysteresis.
