Adding
Non Diegetic
Music
Diego Okereke
Non Diegetic Sounds (sounds that have been added in) are used in
practically every movie being made today, so I have chosen to include a
few sound effects to make Deadly in Love as dramatic as possible.
I went on YouTube looking for suspenseful music instrumentals and there
I found “The Threat” which I’ve then downloaded and made our main
soundtrack.
The Threat contains creepy horror sound effects that make the music as
dark as possible with deep drums, creepy choir and scary sounds in
general.
The green light represents the
non-diegetic sound added on to
our Premiere
What I have also added was the scream for our actress
Rashida at the moment of the attack. In order for the
scream to sound nice we had to first of all mute the diegetic
sound (the actual scream) then record a new scream using
GarageBand. The process of adding the scream was easy,
except we had to record it a few times due to few technical
mistakes.
We then saved the non diegetic sound and then
dragged it on to our film where relevant. In order for
us to fit it nicely, we took extreme care to make the
sound and the actual scene match each other.
