Agence France-Presse (AFP) is an international
news agency headquartered in Paris, France.
Founded in 1944 AFP is a global news agency
delivering fast, in-depth coverage of the events
shaping our world from wars and conflicts to politics,
sports, entertainment and the latest breakthroughs
in health, science and technology AFP is the third
largest news agency in the world, after the
Associated Press (AP) and Reuters. With 2,900
journalists spread across almost every country AFP
covers the world 24 hours a day in six languages, in
video, text, photos, graphics and multimedia.
The Associated Press (AP) is a U.S.-based not-for-profit news
agency based in New York City. Founded in 1846, it operates as
a cooperative, unincorporated association. The AP is owned by its
contributing newspapers and radio and television stations in the
United States, all of which contribute stories to the AP and use
material written by its staff journalists. AP's mission is to inform the
world with accurate, fair, unbiased reporting. As of 2016, news
collected by the AP was published and republished by more than
1,300 newspapers and broadcasters. The AP operates 263 news
bureaus in 106 countries. It also operates the AP Radio Network,
which provides newscasts twice hourly for broadcast and satellite
radio and television stations. Many newspapers and broadcasters
outside the United States are AP subscribers, paying a fee to use AP
material without being contributing members of the cooperative. As
part of their cooperative agreement with the AP, most member news
organizations grant automatic permission for the AP to distribute
their local news reports.
Reuters is an international news agency headquartered
in London, United Kingdom. It is a division of Thomson
Reuters. Until 2008, the Reuters news agency formed
part of an independent company, Reuters Group plc,
which was also a provider of financial market data. Since
the acquisition of Reuters Group by the Thomson
Corporation in 2008, the Reuters news agency has been a
part of Thomson Reuters, making up the media division.
Reuters transmits news
in English, French, Arabic, Spanish, German, Italian, Por
tuguese, Russian, Japanese, Korean, Urdu, and Chinese.
It was established in 1851.
Associated Press of Pakistan (APP) is a government-operated
national news agency of Pakistan.[The name APP should not
to be confused with Associated Press Service (APS) is a private
independent Pakistani news agency and other the much
larger Associated Press news agency (AP), based in New York,
though it is a subscriber to both AP and Reuters, based in
London. APP has News Exchange Agreements with 37 Foreign
News Agencies and more than 500 correspondents. Following
Pakistan's independence, the new-born country's press was
economically weak, and was thus unable to financially support
the agency. APP asked the Government of Pakistan for
financial support, which was granted in the form of loans and
subsidies. Government support enabled APP to subscribe to
the services of the world's news agencies and to open offices in
major cities of Pakistan.
 Press Trust of India (PTI) is the largest news agency in India.
It is headquartered in New Delhi and is
a nonprofit cooperative among more than 500
Indian newspapers and has more than 1,000 full-time
employees, as on January 22, 2016. It employs over 400
journalists and 500 part-time correspondents located in most
of the district headquarters in the country.A few
correspondents are based in major capitals and important
business centres around the world. It took over the operations
of the Associated Press of Indiafrom Reuters after India's
independence in 1947.It provides news coverage and
information of the region in both English and Hindi. Its
corporate office is located at Sansad Marg, New Delhi and
registered office in D N Road, Mumbai
The Xinhua News Agency is the official press agency
of the China.Its president is a member of the Central
Committee of China's Communist Party . Xinhua
operates more than 170 foreign bureaus worldwide,
and maintains 31 bureaus in China,one for each
province, plus a military bureau. Xinhua is regarded
as the most influential media outlet in China as
almost every newspaper in China relies on Xinhua
feeds for content
 The Islamic Republic News Agency, or IRNA, is the
official news agency of the Islamic Republic of Iran.
It is government-funded and controlled under the
Iranian Ministry of Culture and Islamic Guidance.
The agency also publishes the newspaper Iran. As of
2010, the Managing Director of IRNA is Mohammad
Khodaddi. IRNA has 60 offices in Iran and 30 more
in various countries around the world.
WAM is National News Agency of United Arab
Emirates.It was established in November 1976.On 18
June, 1977, WAM began its long professional journey
transmitting UAE news and covering all political,
economic and transformative activities from across
the country.
 The Malaysian National News Agency , is a news
agency of the government of Malaysia. It is an
autonomous body placed under the Ministry of
Communication and Multimedia. Bernama is an
abbreviation of Berita Nasional Malaysia. Bernama
also means named or titled in the Malay language. It
was set up by an Act of Parliament in 1967 and
started work on 20 May 1968. Being the Malaysian
government's official news agency, Bernama's
content and views are decidedly right-leaning and
pro-government of the day.
 The Syrian Arab News Agency (SANA) is the national
news agency of Syria.It was established in June 1965
.It Provides News in Arabic, English, French,
Hebrew, Spanish, Turkis h, Chinese, Russian,
Persian languages.
 Sputnik is national news Agency of Russia. It was
launched on November 10, 2014.Headquartered in
Moscow. Sputnik has regional editorial offices in
Washington, Cairo, Beijing, London and Edinbu
rgh.Sputnik currently operates news websites,
featuring reporting and commentary, in over 30
languages including English, Spanish, Polish,
Serbian, and several others. Sputnik also sells other
products including photo essays, live streaming,
infographics, and public opinion surveys.
 Anadolu Agency is an international news agency
headquartered in Ankara, Turkey and is a state-run news
agency of the Turkish government. The Anadolu Agency
was founded in 1920 during the Turkish War of
Independence. Journalist Yunus Nadi Abalıoğlu and
writer Halide Edip, fleeing the occupied capital, met
in Geyve and concluded that a new Turkish press agency
was needed. The agency was officially launched on April
6, 1920, 17 days before the Turkish Grand National
Assembly convened for the first time. It announce the
first legislation passed by the Assembly, which
established the Republic of Turkey.
 The International Islamic News Agency (IINA), a
specialized organ of the Organisation of Islamic
Cooperation (OIC), is a news agency publishing
in Arabic, English and French and focusing on news
about the Islamic world and Islamic affairs. Its
headquarters is in Jeddah, Saudi Arabia.
 The agency was established in 1972,under a resolution of
the Third Islamic Conference of Foreign Ministers. It is
financed by OIC member states, especially Saudi Arabia,
the United Arab
Emirates, Qatar, Pakistan, Kuwait, Indonesia, Egypt, Lib
ya, Morocco, and Tunisia. Abdulaziz bin Mohieddin
Khoja is chairman of the International Islamic News
Agency (IINA) Executive Council
 The Asian News International (ANI) is an Indian news
agency based in New Delhi that provides multimedia
news to 50 bureaus in India and most of South Asia.
Coverage includes general news, entertainment,
lifestyles, business, politics, science, sports and
features. As of 2015 the Chairman JKOP[was Prem
Prakash. Sanjiv Prakash was the Editor and CEO of Asian
News International
 The Fars News Agency is a news agency in Iran. While it
describes itself as "Iran's leading independent news
agency",it is widely described by news media to be a
"semi-official" news agency of the Government of
Iran.All its content is licensed as Creative Commons.
 Pakistan Press International PPIis a news agency founded in June
1956 as Pakistan Press Association (PPA). The name was changed in
1968. It was first started by Mr. Muzzam Ali, the Chief Editor
of Associated Press of Pakistan (APP). The agency objective was to
provide competition to APP's monopoly. It began its service by
hand, only in Karachi. PPA also built up a network of
correspondents in the smaller cities and towns in Pakistan. This was
in contrast to APP, which had coverage in a limited number of large
cities. For foreign news the agency signed up with the Agence
France-Presse (AFP) in 1957, and a year later became the first Asian
partner of DPA. PPA also posted a correspondent in the Middle
East, an area of special interest to Pakistani newspapers.
 In 1958, the agency installed the teleprinters in the offices of its
clients. By 1960, PPI had subscribers in all the major newspapers
centers of Pakistan, namely Karachi, Lahore, Rawalpindi and Dacca.
 NNI News or News Network International (NNI) is a private-
operated national news agency of Pakistan. It is a Pakistan's
most prominent news agency after Associated Press of
Pakistan (APP) and competitor of INP, ANN, Online, INN,
PPA and SABAH. It was established in 1992 and
headquartered in G-7 zero point, Islamabad.It have also
offices in other major cities of Pakistan
including Lahore, Karachi, Quetta and Peshawar. It have
hundreds of reporters, Bureau chief all across the Pakistan
and around the globe to cover national and international
issues. It provide services in both
languages Urdu and English. In 2013 NNI's photographer
killed in a blast.[

 SABAH is south Asian broadcasting news agency
their mission is to provide accurate and reliable news
head office is in Islamabad. It provides news
coverage from Pakistan Kashmir and south Asia
 Independent News Pakistan (inp) is among the
Pakistan leaders in online news and information
delivery. Staffed 24 hours, seven days a week by a
dedicated staff in INP Capital headquarters in
Islamabad, and in bureaus Lahore, Peshawar,
Karachi,Queatta & Azad Kashmir, with more than
1000 correspondent all our the Pakistan and world,
INP.net.pk relies heavily on INP's team of almost
100 news professionals
 The Asia News Network (ANN) is a network of 22
media groups in Asian cities, organized to provide
avenues for cooperation and to optimize coverage of
major news events in the region. With the goal of
improving coverage of Asian affairs by Asian media,
ANN was born. ANN’s main activities are daily
exchanges of news, photos and a host of other
collaborations.
 Online pioneered-and continues to be the only news
agency to operate-photo service in Pakistan.It is the
only Pakistani media organization that processes
information in a substantially none- paper
environment.After attaining the status of a credible
and most subscribed news/photo service provider in
Pakistan, They later launched English/Arabic news
and pictures service for daily, weekly and monthly
publications across the globe.
 ITAR-TASS (Russia) It is a federal, state-owned
news agency, working throughout the Soviet time as
TASs. It was founded in 1904.It has over 500
correspondents. It Broadcasts in 6 languages, with
350-650 items daily. In 2010 it was among the four
biggest world news agencies with Reuters, the
Associated Press (AP) and Agency France-Press
(AFP).It has the biggest photo archive in Russia.
Headquartered in Moscow, Russia. It has 70 offices
in Russia and in the Commonwealth of Independent
States (CIS), as well as 68 bureaus around the world.

Government support enabled APP to subscribe to the services of the world's news agencies and to open offices in major cities of Pakistan.

  • 16.  Pakistan Press International PPIis a news agency founded in June 1956 as Pakistan Press Association (PPA). The name was changed in 1968. It was first started by Mr. Muzzam Ali, the Chief Editor of Associated Press of Pakistan (APP). The agency objective was to provide competition to APP's monopoly. It began its service by hand, only in Karachi. PPA also built up a network of correspondents in the smaller cities and towns in Pakistan. This was in contrast to APP, which had coverage in a limited number of large cities. For foreign news the agency signed up with the Agence France-Presse (AFP) in 1957, and a year later became the first Asian partner of DPA. PPA also posted a correspondent in the Middle East, an area of special interest to Pakistani newspapers.  In 1958, the agency installed the teleprinters in the offices of its clients. By 1960, PPI had subscribers in all the major newspapers centers of Pakistan, namely Karachi, Lahore, Rawalpindi and Dacca.
