As Deputy General Manager- Electrical, Central Electrical & Instrumentation
Dept.(CEID), Heading all Electrical activity of Central Dept. (from 2006 to till date)
 Central Electrical maintenance (CMD) services to all plants/depts. of Essar steel i.e.
SMP,HBI, HSM, CSP, CRM, Utility, Blast Furnace & Sinter, ASU, power plants etc.
 Supports to depts. for measure/calculate the energy efficiency of various electrical
system like transformers/motors etc. & Energy saving projects.
 Electrical equipments “Reliability Condition Monitoring” and health assessment - Plan

 Transformer Health Diagnostic testing & Condition Monitoring - facility developed &
established for transformers, CT/CVT up to 220KV of Essar complex.
 As Transformer Club leader – Provided solutions and Co-ordination for reliability of
transformers through best maintenance practices to various Dept. and sharing MIS on
transformers through monthly club meeting.
 Responsible for Reliability of 450 HT motors of Essar complex, Hazira
 HT Motors & Generators Health Diagnostic & Condition Monitoring- facility developed &
established for Essar complex by setup various specialize testing facility.
 Established & handling “Centralized Motor Workshop” for AC/DC & HT Motors.
 Main achievement – Highest capacity 2.9MW HT motor & 600KW LT slip ring shear motor
overhauled, motor leads brazing, motor Insulation quality improvement testing after
overhauling confirming through various testing like tan delta & capacitance test etc.
 Support for Shutdown maintenance of AC/DC motor for different Dept/plants.
 As Motor Club leader – Identify route cause of motor failure and degradation motors,
provided solution for reliability of motors and sharing the problem in various motors across
complex through Motor club. Co-ordinate with store and depts. for standardization &

 Responsible For Reliability of HT/LT equipments –
Electrical Condition Monitoring activity and power lab - Develop & established for testing of
Relays and circuit breakers, CT/CVT, scheduled Thermogrphic inspection of Electrical
feeders, motors & transformers electrical object, and follow up for compliance for reduction
in breakdown.
 Initiated for revenue generation from external companies by providing services like
advance testing 220KV transformers, CT/CVT/LA, pre-commissioning and commissioning
testing of HT,LT motors, transformer oil testing.
 Co-ordinate and follow up for compliance with all departments/plants for electrical
equipments on the basis condition monitoring reports(RCM) for reliability of equipments.
 Auditing various electrical installations and participated in various investigation committees
on breakdown and accidents in plant.
