2. Three aspects of agricultural
engineering
agricultural
engineering
What is it
all about?
environment
Food Production
Rural societies
Over production can
agricultural engineering help
Some country's don’t
have enough food
Damage to the
natural
ecosystem
Can a “green” type of
engineering be found ?
What is the green
house effect ?
Larger areas are
being framed =
less people
needed
Young people moving
away from the country
side
What does engineering
mean for rural societies?
3. What does agricultural engineering
mean for environment?

4. Damaging the natural
ecosystems
This is some of what
agricultural engineering is
doing to green fields of land.
Big machinery is coming to
the land that farmers have
bought and are cutting down
the trees and grass.
This
to
This
This can be very bad for the soil ripping up all the grass
and trees. And the result of that is each time you use that
land it becomes less fertile to plant in. They also use
Pesticides to kill insects in the land and fungus witch
would also weaken the land. The only good thing is that it
stops soil sealing (covering the ground with tarmac.)
5. The green house effect
CH4
H2O
SO2
The green house effect is natural or we would not be able to
live on earth. But due to global warming the blanket around
the earth thickens meaning less sun rays are leaving the
earths atmosphere. Making the earth hotter. The blanket
around the earth is made up of carbon dioxide, methane,
nitrous dioxide and sulphur dioxide. These are all gases given
of by tractors and other framing machines.

6. “green” agricultural engineering?
We all know that new farming
means new gases into the air
around us. But what if there
was a way to make less gases
in the air ?
What if we can change
this to this
I think that “green”
agricultural engineering can
be found. As if you changed
the oilfuel you are putting
into the tractors different
substances would come out.
Biofuel should be used more
often as it is made out of recycled
oil from restaurants. The only
gases that is giving off is water
vapour and a little carbon dioxide.
This is sustainable agriculture as it
a way of farming, hurting the
environment a little bit but is
much better for environment,
public health, human
communities, and animal welfare.

7. What does agricultural engineering
mean for food production?
food production
Food production to slow Over producing
Under producing
8. Food Production
Food production in the world is increasing but
not at the rate that we need it to be as the
world grows in numbers we need more food
to fill their mouths but food production is not
quick enough. This is because organic farming
methods are too slow.
cultural engineering
I’m hear to help
Organic farming means food production is to
slow but agricultural engineering could change
all that as tractors can take in food a lot quicker
than people meaning the fields are being
harvest a lot quicker.
9. Over Producing
Britain has the highest level of food
wastage in Europe, with each household
binning around 13lb of food a week. The
EU wastes an estimated 22m tonnes of
food each year this just shows with more
food comes more waste.
With more food comes more
problems like obesity. Over producing
food means more food is on the
shelves for people to buy. With that
comes more people becoming obese.
=
Some parts of the world do
need food but in some
country's there is way too
much, because of
agricultural engineering
food production is faster
than it has ever been in the
past. This means too much
food for some and too little
for others. We cant find a
balance. But due to Biofuel
that food waste could be
made into useful source of
fuel.
10. Under Producing
These are just some of the
shocking images of malnutrition
in children, but that could all
change if we make it change.
Due to new technology and
agricultural engineering
more food could be made in
places like this.
This
Maybe
This
Could help
Just think if tractors were sent out
to places with not enough food
people could learn how to use it.
This means that children could have
food.
We have the tec, lets use it!
11. What does agricultural engineering
mean for rural societies?
rural societies
How is agricultural
engineering affecting
rural societies?
How could agricultural
engineering keep young
people in farming?
Are larger farms needing less people?
Off my
land
12. How is agricultural engineering
affecting rural societies?
Agricultural engineering gives power to the farmers over the rural
societies. New engineering gives the farmers higher status. If one
farmer in the rural society has all the new engineering, has a big
business and promotes the regional products, he has lots of
power in the farming community.
I have the
power!
Get off my
land
13. How could Agricultural engineering
help young people stay in farming?
Young people are into social media and new
technology. That is want agricultural
engineering has to offer.
Young people like to earn money. With a food
shortage in the world and with agricultural
engineering to help there could be lots of
money to come in the farming business.
These facts could be very appealing to
younger people and could help grow
the numbers in young people in
farming.
+ = +
14. Are larger farms needing less
people?
As farms get more money and get bigger
in size less people need to work on the
land
WHAT?
Yes because farms are
getting more money that
means they can buy the
new engineering. Only one
person had to run the
tractors and machines so
you don’t need as many
people to work on the land.

15. Over all
Pros cons
• Agricultural engineering could stop soil
sealing
• Biofuel could help oil waste
• Stop world hunger
• Help with world food production and
waste
• Help big farms get bigger
• Could keep young people in farming
• Owners of the farm will not have to pay
for people to work on the farm
• Release gases into the air helping global
warming
• Damaging the natural ecosystem
• Making people obese
• Smaller farmers could be put out of
business
• More people could be put out of a job
