The document discusses the author learning new technology skills over the course of a school project. It describes learning to use Photoshop to edit photos by cropping, changing colors, and erasing backgrounds. The author also learned to use Blogger and Slideshare as platforms to upload and share their work online. These new skills allowed the author to improve their photos and present their work publicly, demonstrating how technology has enhanced educational opportunities.
2. I have learnt many new skills since the beginning of this project. At the beginning of the year we were
introduced to Photoshop and the basic use of how to use it. We were taught this in order to edit our photos that
we took in our preliminary task. I had never really used Photoshop before so it was something new. At the start
I had a few problems due to it not being able to get the photo looking the way I wanted it to. I was able to
change colour, crop, add, erase anything to an image by using Photoshop. This made it a lot easier for me to
finish my products as I was able to edit it to the way I wanted.
These are the photos that I took for my music
magazine. I took each of these photos on a blank
wall so that it would make it easier for me to
change the background colour if I wanted to.
These are the photos after I played around
with them on Photoshop. I changed all the
backgrounds as I am using these photos as
“wall candy” which is on my front cover. I
was able to erase the background and fill it
in with a new background of my choice.
3. Another site which we had to use was Blogger.com. I had never used this site before so again it was all new
to me. I was able to make an account from blogger in order to upload my work onto where other people were
able to see it. Making an account was very simple as all I had to do was choose a username and a
password. Putting my work onto the blog was very simple as well. This site allowed me to get the link of my
work where I could then take and upload it onto slideshare.
Slideshare was another site which we used, this was a new site to me as well as I had never been on it
before. This site is connected to Blogger.com which meant we did not have to make a new account. We
were already logged on through our blogger account. This is where our work which we had uploaded onto
our own accounts, was presented nicely and clearly for people to view.
4. Technology skills have improved throughout the years. You are now able to edit photos which you have
taken and edit them in any way you like in order for you to have them the way you like. You are able to
turn an old, dull photography, into a bright one. You are able to change the size, colour, position, layout…
of a photo with a few simple clicks. You are also able to upload work onto different sites which enables
other people to view it and make comments on it. This is allowing students to improve their education as
the internet has so much on it that will help people in every different way possible.
