2. PROBLEM STATEMENT
What is the situation of edible oil production in our country?
Does this machine satisfy the problems faced currently in the oil production industry?
JUSTIFICATION
This project purpose is to make a small efficient cold press oil extraction machine which can be used
in Indian households
3. ABSTRACT
India is spending about 70000cr annually for importing of edible oil , so to reduce the gap between
import and production rate we have designed a multi seed cold press oil extraction machine. Cold
press is a process where oil is extracted naturally so, there will be no loss nutrients in the oil. so
high quality can be produced using this method.
4. MATERIAL SPECIFICATION
Hopper : Galvanized iron (it is tough , light weight , corrosion resistance)
Cylinder barrel : Stainless steel(corrosion resistance, good performance at high temperature)
Screw shaft : Stainless steel(resistance to oxidization and corrosion)
Body : Mild Steel(hardness , elongation)
Pulley : Aluminum (ductile and corrosion resistance)
V – Belt : Neoprene Rubber(oil heat resistance , elasticity)
Pre –heater : Ceramic coil
5. DESIGN CALUCLATONS

Screw conveyor parameters:
Length of the screw conveyor = 850 mm
Length of the threaded screw = 700 mm
Major diameter = 50mm
Minor diameter =44mm

6. Power consumed by the conveyor:
P = 2πNT/60000
N = 288rpm
T = 36.4 N-m
P = 1.098 KW
Pulley and rpm of the screw conveyor:
N1D1 = N2D2
N1= Speed of the driver shaft = 1440rpm
D1= Pulley diameter of the driver shaft = 50mm
N2 = Speed of the driven shaft = 288 rpm
D2= Pulley diameter of the driven shaft = 250mm

10. FABRICATION
• For screw facing planning and threading operation are done
• The base is made by welding mild steel rods
• Bottom we place the motor and at the top part we place the preheater
• Screw shaft is placed inside cylinder and seeds are poured to cylinder through hopper resent at
one end
11. We have applied a pressure of 8.7Pa uniformly throughout the section resulting in the
shear stress rotations of 12 turn screw is
