Persuasive Essay About Science
Every kid wants to go to the moon one day, or save children and families from blazing fires They all have a dream. We were always asked the
question, "What do you want to be when you grow up?" The stereotypical jobs always came to mind. The thought of being an astronaut, floating
through space and discovering the planets. The thought of being a firefighter and saving the town from disastrous flames. These were normally
the first ones. Kids would always argue over who would be the best police officer. They would run around the playground playing "Cops and
Robbers", testing each other's heroic abilities. Then, there was me. Ever since I was young, I knew I wanted to study some sort of science. My
mom has always worked in the medical field, so as soon as she got home I would ask what she did that day. It was always different. Some days she
would be working with a patient with cancer and others she would be removing an arm or leg due to a horrific car accident. It all kept me
entertained as a child and has since. Although I knew what subject of study I wanted to go into, I never knew the specific field. There were so
many options. You could be a physician, surgeon, or a research scientist. The list goes on and will continue to grow as new fields are developed.
There is one deciding factor for everyone, though. There is always that one moment or event that caused a feeling of awe. A desire to learn more. This
feeling came to me in my sophomore year of high school. Walking

The object we use twice a day, and neglect quite a bit has proven to be one of the most successful devices to prevent gum disease if used. 7 in 10
Americans use it daily, and in a world with a population of 7.5 billion people, only 4.2 billion people own them, while 5.1 billion own a
phone.(Hopkins Jeanne) Each one of them costs around 2 dollars, while the electric ones cost up to 4,000 dollars. (Green, Dennis)This device was
voted as the number–one invention that most Americans could not live without. In fact, the average person spends 2,920 dollars a year on this.(How
much could you potentially spend on toothbrushes?) While the average American spends 38.5 days of their life using it.( Hygiene, Oral) The toothbrush
has to be one of most magnificent devices ever created, from whitening your teeth to making sure you have good hygiene, the toothbrush has made the
impossible possible. To understand and learn about this miracle. We will first brush our way through it's interesting and unique history. Second, we
will rinse through why we should only use our brushes and not anyone else's. Third, we learn about Ordontalophobia. Lastly, we will learn how to pick
the perfect brush for us and how an old invention as the brush is still thriving.
While, the first modern toothbrush, with nylon bristles, was created in 1938 by the company, Dupont de Nemours, was called Doctor West's Miracle
Toothbrush. However, toothbrushes have been mentioned as early as around 3000 BC, when Egyptians

An Act of Kindness: A Persuasive Essay
An Act of Kindness
(Order #A2071175) There is a commercial on television, I forget what for, where one person performs a small act of kindness towards another,
followed by that person helping someone else, and so on. The message here is that each act of kindness has a ripple effect throughout society and
can effect people who we do not even know exist. There is also a secondary lesson of this commercial: eventually the acts of kindness return to the
original person, indicating that kindness can be circular and if we want to live in a society where people do nice things for one another, then it begins
and ends with us. This commercial indicates that acts of kindness are a way to improve society and an individual's overall life. With this is mind, I would
like to convey an example of how I have been able to do my part in the overall circle of kindness by aiding a stranger who's car battery had died and
needed a jump. It began on my way home one day when I was forced to stop for gas. At the gas station I was minding my own business when a
stranger approached me and asked if I had a set of jumper cables and if I could give him a jump. As a teenager being approached by a grown man
asking for help, thoughts of being kidnapped, tortured and murdered filled my imagination. As he approached, my immediate reaction was to hope he
would leave me alone and continue walking, but he did not. Instead he came straight up to me and asked for my help. I wanted to say that I did not

How To Write A Persuasive Essay On Kendrick Lamar
Both Kendrick and Migos put out some bangers on the regular, but I am here to convince you about Kendrick Lamar being the better of the two.
Kendrick has a style of rapping like no other it from playing whole or in decoded speed up backward messages to rapping about his mother's harsh
punishments for seven minutes on his track FEAR. on the album DAMN. he has catchy lyrics, and he has some of modern rap's most classic and
best albums ( 'Good Kid, M.A.A.D. City' and To pimp a butterfly are some personal favorites). Migos does not have nearly as many albums as
Kendrick or experience they make good songs that get played out in a couple of weeks, but you can always catch someone bumping to some
Kendrick. Offset, one member of the Migos group did make a big accomplishment with collaborating with 21 Savage and Metro Boomin on the album
"Without Warning." Takeoff has not done anything out on his own really unlike the more successful of the group Quavo and Offset, but he is still

Like I said, and I would be surprised if less than 70% of rap listeners would disagree that Kendrick Lamar is better than Migos by a longshot. Migos
biggest albums are Culture, YRN 2, and YRN. While Kendrick has some fantastic songs on the albums: DAMN., Section.80, 'Good Kid, M.A.A.D.
City', and To Pimp a Butterfly. When it comes to influence, it is a hard topic to judge on because rap nowadays unlike back in the 80s and 90s isn't
nearly as influential, but I would say Kendrick has the most influence on the people and exploiting certain lifestyles. I feel like that Kendrick Lamar
is better than Migos and if you need any persuasion on the topic (which I doubt), I hope I helped you agree with my

Rhetorical Analysis
In order to create a persuasive essay, the author must take into consideration the following points: the audience attitude, the organization of the speech
and the appropriate use of the ethical guidelines. The audience attitude towards a topic is very important, given that is the general feeling about the
issue or person; according to the book Speak, people express their attitudes when they give their opinions. However, there are different type of
audiences such as: opposed, no opinion and in favor. When the audience has an opposed posture, the speaker is seeking for an incremental change. In
other words, he/she begins with a small change in order to make the listeners to move into the orator's direction. The second category of audience is the
no opinion, that is to say they are neutral, apathetic or uninformed with the topic. If the audience is apathetic, this means they are uninterested or
indifferent; the orator's goal is to show how the topic relates with the audience. When the audience is does not know enough about the topic...show more

The next thing to consider is the preposition. A preposition is a declarative sentence that identifies the orator's position. There are three types of
prepositions such as: proposition of fact, proposition of value and proposition of policy. In the following paragraph, the three classifications will be
explained. The proposition of fact has the goal to convince the audience about three different things, the first one is that it did or did not probably
occur or exist; the second one is that probably is or not true; and the third one is that it will or will not probably occur. The proposition of value is used
to convince the audience that something has more value than something else. The proposition of policy is used to convince the audience about a
particular action; uses words such as "should/shouldn't" or "do/don't" or "mus/must

Persuasive Speech On Social Media Essay
Purpose: To persuade my audience to minimize their phone usage. Thesis: Stay in the present moment, don't let yourself believe you're going to forget
a memory because you didn't document it through social media. Claim: Policy Organizational Pattern: Problem–Solution I. Introduction A. Attention
Getter: Four Years of your life is wasted to what's sitting inside all of your pockets right now; your cellphone. The average person spends roughly
90 minutes a day playing on their phone, whether it's checking emails, Snapchatting or scrolling through your Twitter feed. According to The
Dailymail.com we unlock our phones at least 110 times per day! We've become almost dependent on these devices over time, and it needs to stop.
We rely on our phones everyday to wake us up for school and to know the time of day. B. Relevance: We live in a world of ever changing
technology. Products are always getting upgraded every year and everyone wants the biggest and newest thing on the market. It's hard to not get
caught up in all the buzz of things. We feel almost "naked" without our phones; our attachment to them is overwhelming. Without them we feel as
though we're missing out on what's happening in the world. Our heads are always down; our thumbs are always swiping up and down on our
newsfeed. We're living a life that is more involved in someone else's social media accounts than our own. C. Credibility: As a student at this university
I've realized every person on the quad has their heads

Persuasive Essay On The Art Of Art
Art declares many things. It's a way for people to articulate their views, express their emotions, and communicate to the world in a way that gives
them creative release. This ability to exhibit one's views in a imaginative and safe manner is exceptionally important to society's growth, and to border
this freedom to articulate is detrimental. Art should not be hidden and concealed permanently from the public eye because some see it as vulgar due to
the fact that many people have varying definitions as to what is crossing the line. Only certain, obvious things can be noted as truly indecent.
Censorship is not an easy subject. As an artist, there is often a lot of tolerance for the obscene, from appreciation to detail on the human figure or
the unique renditions of animalistic interaction. However, the majority of the public might find the same things that the artists see as a unique
interpretation as vulgar. It is easy to see that such a standpoint must be taken into more consideration, as the point of indecency can differ greatly
for a conservative Christian compared to a liberal atheist. The two images of what each group considers unseemly would most likely range in their
obscenity, and so it would be difficult to put a line where one should be crossed. "If an image offends very many people, sooner or later someone
will invoke the law, and along with it judges, legislators, policymakers, and the police," quotes Melinda Hinkson in Australia's Bill Henson scandal:
notes on the new cultural attitude to images. Here we have a majority rule, where an image should only have action dealt upon it if enough people
want change. Such censorship is easy to determine when there are pieces depicting derogatory themes, such as child pornography or racial notions.
But there are multiple cases where there are two sides of the story, and it is not as simple.
A statue named Truth is Beauty by Marco Cochrane has recently been constructed in the city of San Leandro, here in the bay area. This statue depicts a
nude woman dancing, her body semi–geometric, and although you can not vividly see the all of the womans body parts, it is not difficult to know that
she is supposed to be depicted as naked. A completely naked figure,

Gothic and science fiction stories and films have diverse themes that are interesting, and hook the audience. From good vs. evil to environmental
issues, writers have been able to bring new ideas to literature. A theme is defined as a life lesson or message conveyed through the story. In Godzilla,
War of the Worlds, andStar Wars: A New Hope there are important themes, some with important messages about issues going on in the world. An
author can use their story to relay an important message to the audience and outreach to large groups. The point of this is to speak about something
that will stick with the audience, or talk about popular issues that they will they speak out about, as well. The development of the theme in a story is
very important, because without proper development, the author may not get the point across to the reader. Elements that are needed for an effective
theme are characters, setting, and a plot. With these aspects, the theme should grasp the audience properly and be exciting. The film Godzilla, brings
up environmental issues from the 1970's. It was released years after World War II, which was a very controversial time, because of the use of atomic
bombs. The setting in the beginning of the film is France, and Godzilla is created because they test an atomic bomb in this area. The atomic bomb
ruins everything in the area, and the mutant lizard becomes a destructor of the world. The next setting for the film is New York City, which is

Over the past two years, my persuasive writing skills have remained stagnant and have not grown much since I graduated from high school. The
coursework of my chemical engineering classes has focused more on technical writing to convey data and facts to evaluate a hypothesis rather than to
persuade a reader to think differently. However, I recognize that persuasivewriting has a place in my education, and I am eager to grow my abilities
over the course of the semester. In this self–assessment, I will talk about the skills I want to develop and the strategies I will use along the way.
Taking the self–assessment quiz made me realize how out of practice I have become in writing non–technical papers. The first and most important
thing that I...show more content...
My first drafts are often very cluttered and require a lot of work to shift the pieces around into an order that makes sense and has a natural flow to
it. Additionally, if I do not have any direct quotes or sources that I really want to use, I will often write around those sections in my paragraphs
requiring me to come back and insert these sources in a later stage of the writing process. Sometimes I cannot find anything good to fit in so the quote
can feel forced at times. Also, this addition requires a possible rework of the paragraph to make sure that I am not being redundant or
self–contradicting elsewhere in my writing. Identifying these areas of weakness allows for the development of a more focused and effective
strategy to improve them. In order to address my weakness in writing persuasive appeals is to put the practice and time into crafting them. I am not
going to get better overnight at this skill, so therefore I will need to be meticulous as I hone this skill. I will not allow myself to settle for good
enough with my appeals but will instead keep writing into I develop something that is actually worthwhile. I plan to use the methods mentioned on a
website I found to improve my persuasive writing and help get my points across. Regarding my body paragraph structure, I plan to make creating an
outline a bona fide part of my writing

George Orwell wrote in his novel, 1984, that 'Big Brother is Watching You' to warn the generations of the future of what their world could become.
Orwell warned people of the threat that a totalitarian government with mass surveillance could place on people and their rights. Even 67 years later, the
message still rings true as the American public is constantly watched through surveillance, either by internet companies or by the government
themselves. The "Big Brother" of modern times is our government, watching over the public and taking away our privacy rights under the guise of
safety. The surveillance of the status quo should be decreased to limit the rights violations that are becoming increasingly common. While the
government argues in defense of mass surveillance for the security of its citizens, it has become clear that surveillance has the opposite effect. In light
of recent world events, foreign threats have become more and more prevalent. In fact, famed whistleblower Edward Snowden finds that countries like
China, Germany, France, Andorra, and Russia can access our online activity through unencrypted websites (Edward Snowden: Here's How We Take
Back The Internet). Recent hacks done by North Korea specifically has shown that the NSA has a weak hold on the information that it collects about
its citizens. Foreign groups can take advantage of this information to carry out life threatening attacks on American soil or to undermine the capabilities
of the U.S.

Writing A Persuasive Essay
It's a simple enough idea, write an essay about a topic for credit. I'll admit I've written good essays in the past, I just have one issue with this topic;
I am not a persuasive person. I don't have a passion to write about, or an idea in my head. Even if I was passionate about something, I doubt I have
the skill to convince you. My arguments would consist of why I like the topic (or hate it) with an extreme bias, and I doubt that you would be moved. I
couldn't convince you that the long hours of school take a toll on the students. Even if others agree with me, the way I word things, the lack of
passion and my lack of being able to be assertive is the reason why I can't write this essay. First things first, the way I word my thoughts. Regardless

reader. In a persuasive essay, it's the writer's job to convince the reader to accept a particular point of view or take a specific action." Along with a
bunch of How Tos. I've have taken a stand that is very passive–aggressive, on why I can't write this essay. I know what you're thinking, this is
ridiculous. Just think of it like this, as you sit there reading me ramble on and give excuses. You're starting to listen. Yes, you have been in my spot
before, lack of passion words don't form right and you're just not clear enough. I see the irony here, this very essay, it contradicts itself. A persuasive
essay on why I can't write a persuasive essay. In the end it's genius, I'm not faking an opinion or sing someone's thoughts. You might have considered
this option before but it seemed too stupid. You looked up prompt after prompt. Nothing. When you finally settle you know it's not your best work and
the grade shows. Or you did it last minute, reworded someone else's essay. You've even considered turning in nothing, I mean what's the point

Persuasive Speech : Effective Communication
In writing it's important to have an understanding of what you're trying to convey for your audience in addition to how you you will present your ideas.
Effective communication extends beyond having well organized writing expressed in complete and coherent sentences. The style, tone and clarity of
writing must also be considered, as they are constantly changing relative to the audience. Again, analyzing one's audience and purpose is essential to
successful writing. Appropriately, when choosing the most effective language, it is important to consider the document objective as well as the reader.
In essence, this idea of effective use of language has been the overarching theme of this online English course. Each writing assignment...show more

Thus, the style of language used within the text was often industry specific and possessed a more academic feeling. For example, in the text I often
used abbreviations and slang acceptable within the discourse such as, SCM Supply chain management, KPI Key performance indicator, and RDT
Resource dependence. The word choice in this assignment is indicative of that fact that language is chosen in a manner that is appropriate for both the
audience and the purpose of the writing.
Furthermore, perhaps the greatest contrast and the most evident of how language works differently in various types of writing is the discussion blog
post. The blog post allowed the class to engage in different types of formality of language. The formality of the language one uses should match
the formality of the situation and the relationship between the writer and reader. Therefore, as the public audience was a class of online students
taking a required writing course in the summer, the formality of my writing has often been very informal. For example, in my blog post addressing
my concern over the unworthy power of BeyoncГ© I wrote, "It was the year 2008 when the world was blessed with the images of BeyoncГ©
(unapologetically) dancing around in a leotard. Not only is BeyoncГ©'s single lady video one of her most notable hits it begins her what is now a
decade long relationship ending spree" (Marquis, 2016 ). The formality

Persuasive Essay On Coffee
Coffee is one of the most popular beverages worldwide. Eighty–three percent of Americans drink coffee daily, and some more than one cup. Coffee is
made by the grinding of roasted coffee seeds, also known as coffee beans, adding hot water allowing it to flow through the coffee grinds. Coffee was
traditionally introduced as an energy booster to get people through the day. Today, coffee is also a social mechanism where people feel required to drink
it every day. The aspect that makes coffee so addictive is the caffeine. Caffeine is not addictive the way meth or cocaine is but regular use of caffeine
as a stimulate, can cause mild physical dependence. However, coffee is addicting it does allow many health benefits. Coffee can reduce the risk
of type two diabetes and increase the possibility of preventing oral cancers. But like all good things, drinking coffee should not be abused, like
coach Phil from Kicking & Screaming, who throughout the main part of the movie, chugged cups after cups of cappuccinos. Drinking a large
amount of coffee does pose several cons. A con of coffee is an increase in anxiety, and have a negative effect on prescribed medicine. Although many
only use coffees to boost energy early in the morning, this drink can be used to help with problems. Coffee can reduce the risk of type two diabetes,
which is important when living in the world today. Type two diabetes is a very serious and complicated condition, coffee helps control one's blood and

Persuasive Essay About The Future
What are you going to be when you grow up? The go–to inquiry of almost every adult in a child's life. It is asked almost in a whimsical way in the
first few years; often met with innocently ambitious responses such as an astronaut or a deep sea diver. With most kids, myself included, the answer
changed several times throughout grade school. My starry eyed dreams of becoming an archeologist soon shifted to architect, and then to wilderness
firefighter, then soldier, policeman, engineer, and so on. I could be anything i could dream up in this world and i had forever to decide. However,
there comes a point in every teenager's life where the question of the future starts to scare you. This distant future is now becoming a very real thing
that needs to be figured out and planned, because it's almost time to make that next step. I've always heard it said that high school will be the quickest
four years of your life. I had no idea just how fast until it was time for me to start preparing for the real world. Over the past two years, i've really
done some "soul searching" so to speak, and I believe that i've found out what i'm going to do for the rest of my life. Now i know that whatever
teacher got selected to read through the stacks of senior essays that contained my piece is probably laughing at that last bit. If only i knew right? But
just hear me out. My goal is to become a pilot for the United States Marine Corps. From a very young age, the idea of flight has fascinated me.

What Makes A Successful Argument?
What makes a successful argument? An argumentative essay is similar to any other essay. The writing process may vary, but only slightly to meet the
demands of an argument. When writing a convincing argumentative essay, one must first choose a topic and then think about that chosen topic, draft a
thesis statement, understand the intended audience, gather evidence, refute opposing arguments, revise the thesis statement, establish credibility, draft
the essay, revise the essay, and finally polish the essay. By implementing these steps one is sure to write a convincing argument. Whenwriting an
argumentative essay, one must first choose a topic of significance, a topic that the writer has an emotional tie with. The topic is to be tapered down
from the unspecific idea. ClichГ© topics are to be avoided such as the death penalty and abortion rights. Before beginning the writing process, thinking
about the chosen topic is essential. Invention strategies such as freewriting, brainstorming, clustering, and informal outlines are also used to gather
further ideas. At this point, a topic is already chosen and a thesis statement is ready to be made. The thesis statement tells the reader what your position
on the topic will be. An argumentative thesis is unlike other thesis statements. Instead of stating the topic, an argumentative essays thesis should
convey the writers point. The thesis statement should be precise and to the point. It should also show the readers what position will

Persuasive Essays : Persuasive Essay
When I began this class, I loved to write persuasive essays. I loved to write about my own opinions and I was quite good at convincing people to agree
with my stand points. To convince others to agree on my point of view was an extraordinary feeling. I am very good at getting my point across and
giving my reasons on why I feel the way I do about a certain situation. I loved writing persuasive essays because I love to read them as well. I love how
persuasive essays have a call–to–action; giving the readers a chance to do something about the situation. I am all for protest and rights for others, if I
believe someone is wrong I will stand my ground and prove that it is wrong. I loved to write persuasive essays because, I am a persuasive person in
life. My opinions matter just as much as everyone else. Writing persuasive essays, is like writing from the soul. To be able to put my all into a piece
and show why it means so much to me. By taking this class, I have come to enjoy the research paper. I feel now as I writer I still love persuasive
writing; just know I include research to help strengthen my opinions. I am an organized writer as well as a descriptive writer, being able to write
things in logical order and having things well explained for a reader. I now understand the meaning and how to write about things I may not always
agree with. Being able to describe my writing, giving more detail is something taking this class has taught me. Giving my readers a better visual is

How To Write A Persuasive Paper
The importance of writing, I found, was in what you wrote about and its purpose, writing helps you get your ideas on paper and improve simply
things like sentences, punctuation, spelling, and grammar. There are many types of writing for different purposes, for this semester we focused on
persuasive and research papers, but there is also poetry, fiction, creative, narratives, and even more.. I feel I have grown as a writer in the organization,
wording and lead–ins of papers. I also feel I have improved in my vocabulary and using different words to give the same meaning.
The greatest writing accomplishments, I noticed in my persuasive and research papers were in connecting to the topic and lead–ins. In the research paper
I improved in leading into the topic. My research paper was about cloning and in it I stated, "Ian WIlmut, a embryologist, and Keith Campbell, a cell
biologist and embryologist, state in their book, The...show more content...
I liked how I used word phrasing in the persuasive paper. In the persuasive paper you had to discredit the opposing side, I did this by stating, "
Some parents and students argue that these books should be banned, but they are mistaken and misrepresenting the view of the book". For this I
used different words and sometimes different orders to describe similar things and make it sound more educated and believable. In addition,
something I found good in my paper was my discussions of the topics. In the persuasive paper about banning books I made a topic about why they
shouldn't be banned, saying, " ...taking these books off the shelves and out of schools they are taking away students' First Amendment rights to choose
what books they want to read". I used good discussions to make my point about the topic and persuade people to see the way I wanted them to.
Conclusively, the persuasive paper was my favorite out of all the papers completed this

Persuasive Essay About Science

  • 1. Persuasive Essay About Science Every kid wants to go to the moon one day, or save children and families from blazing fires They all have a dream. We were always asked the question, "What do you want to be when you grow up?" The stereotypical jobs always came to mind. The thought of being an astronaut, floating through space and discovering the planets. The thought of being a firefighter and saving the town from disastrous flames. These were normally the first ones. Kids would always argue over who would be the best police officer. They would run around the playground playing "Cops and Robbers", testing each other's heroic abilities. Then, there was me. Ever since I was young, I knew I wanted to study some sort of science. My mom has always worked in the medical field, so as soon as she got home I would ask what she did that day. It was always different. Some days she would be working with a patient with cancer and others she would be removing an arm or leg due to a horrific car accident. It all kept me entertained as a child and has since. Although I knew what subject of study I wanted to go into, I never knew the specific field. There were so many options. You could be a physician, surgeon, or a research scientist. The list goes on and will continue to grow as new fields are developed. There is one deciding factor for everyone, though. There is always that one moment or event that caused a feeling of awe. A desire to learn more. This feeling came to me in my sophomore year of high school. Walking Get more content on HelpWriting.net
  • 2. Persuasive Essay The object we use twice a day, and neglect quite a bit has proven to be one of the most successful devices to prevent gum disease if used. 7 in 10 Americans use it daily, and in a world with a population of 7.5 billion people, only 4.2 billion people own them, while 5.1 billion own a phone.(Hopkins Jeanne) Each one of them costs around 2 dollars, while the electric ones cost up to 4,000 dollars. (Green, Dennis)This device was voted as the number–one invention that most Americans could not live without. In fact, the average person spends 2,920 dollars a year on this.(How much could you potentially spend on toothbrushes?) While the average American spends 38.5 days of their life using it.( Hygiene, Oral) The toothbrush has to be one of most magnificent devices ever created, from whitening your teeth to making sure you have good hygiene, the toothbrush has made the impossible possible. To understand and learn about this miracle. We will first brush our way through it's interesting and unique history. Second, we will rinse through why we should only use our brushes and not anyone else's. Third, we learn about Ordontalophobia. Lastly, we will learn how to pick the perfect brush for us and how an old invention as the brush is still thriving. While, the first modern toothbrush, with nylon bristles, was created in 1938 by the company, Dupont de Nemours, was called Doctor West's Miracle Toothbrush. However, toothbrushes have been mentioned as early as around 3000 BC, when Egyptians Get more content on HelpWriting.net
  • 3. An Act of Kindness: A Persuasive Essay An Act of Kindness (Order #A2071175) There is a commercial on television, I forget what for, where one person performs a small act of kindness towards another, followed by that person helping someone else, and so on. The message here is that each act of kindness has a ripple effect throughout society and can effect people who we do not even know exist. There is also a secondary lesson of this commercial: eventually the acts of kindness return to the original person, indicating that kindness can be circular and if we want to live in a society where people do nice things for one another, then it begins and ends with us. This commercial indicates that acts of kindness are a way to improve society and an individual's overall life. With this is mind, I would like to convey an example of how I have been able to do my part in the overall circle of kindness by aiding a stranger who's car battery had died and needed a jump. It began on my way home one day when I was forced to stop for gas. At the gas station I was minding my own business when a stranger approached me and asked if I had a set of jumper cables and if I could give him a jump. As a teenager being approached by a grown man asking for help, thoughts of being kidnapped, tortured and murdered filled my imagination. As he approached, my immediate reaction was to hope he would leave me alone and continue walking, but he did not. Instead he came straight up to me and asked for my help. I wanted to say that I did not have a Get more content on HelpWriting.net
  • 4. How To Write A Persuasive Essay On Kendrick Lamar Both Kendrick and Migos put out some bangers on the regular, but I am here to convince you about Kendrick Lamar being the better of the two. Kendrick has a style of rapping like no other it from playing whole or in decoded speed up backward messages to rapping about his mother's harsh punishments for seven minutes on his track FEAR. on the album DAMN. he has catchy lyrics, and he has some of modern rap's most classic and best albums ( 'Good Kid, M.A.A.D. City' and To pimp a butterfly are some personal favorites). Migos does not have nearly as many albums as Kendrick or experience they make good songs that get played out in a couple of weeks, but you can always catch someone bumping to some Kendrick. Offset, one member of the Migos group did make a big accomplishment with collaborating with 21 Savage and Metro Boomin on the album "Without Warning." Takeoff has not done anything out on his own really unlike the more successful of the group Quavo and Offset, but he is still ...show more content... Like I said, and I would be surprised if less than 70% of rap listeners would disagree that Kendrick Lamar is better than Migos by a longshot. Migos biggest albums are Culture, YRN 2, and YRN. While Kendrick has some fantastic songs on the albums: DAMN., Section.80, 'Good Kid, M.A.A.D. City', and To Pimp a Butterfly. When it comes to influence, it is a hard topic to judge on because rap nowadays unlike back in the 80s and 90s isn't nearly as influential, but I would say Kendrick has the most influence on the people and exploiting certain lifestyles. I feel like that Kendrick Lamar is better than Migos and if you need any persuasion on the topic (which I doubt), I hope I helped you agree with my Get more content on HelpWriting.net
  • 5. Rhetorical Analysis In order to create a persuasive essay, the author must take into consideration the following points: the audience attitude, the organization of the speech and the appropriate use of the ethical guidelines. The audience attitude towards a topic is very important, given that is the general feeling about the issue or person; according to the book Speak, people express their attitudes when they give their opinions. However, there are different type of audiences such as: opposed, no opinion and in favor. When the audience has an opposed posture, the speaker is seeking for an incremental change. In other words, he/she begins with a small change in order to make the listeners to move into the orator's direction. The second category of audience is the no opinion, that is to say they are neutral, apathetic or uninformed with the topic. If the audience is apathetic, this means they are uninterested or indifferent; the orator's goal is to show how the topic relates with the audience. When the audience is does not know enough about the topic...show more content... The next thing to consider is the preposition. A preposition is a declarative sentence that identifies the orator's position. There are three types of prepositions such as: proposition of fact, proposition of value and proposition of policy. In the following paragraph, the three classifications will be explained. The proposition of fact has the goal to convince the audience about three different things, the first one is that it did or did not probably occur or exist; the second one is that probably is or not true; and the third one is that it will or will not probably occur. The proposition of value is used to convince the audience that something has more value than something else. The proposition of policy is used to convince the audience about a particular action; uses words such as "should/shouldn't" or "do/don't" or "mus/must Get more content on HelpWriting.net
  • 6. Persuasive Speech On Social Media Essay Purpose: To persuade my audience to minimize their phone usage. Thesis: Stay in the present moment, don't let yourself believe you're going to forget a memory because you didn't document it through social media. Claim: Policy Organizational Pattern: Problem–Solution I. Introduction A. Attention Getter: Four Years of your life is wasted to what's sitting inside all of your pockets right now; your cellphone. The average person spends roughly 90 minutes a day playing on their phone, whether it's checking emails, Snapchatting or scrolling through your Twitter feed. According to The Dailymail.com we unlock our phones at least 110 times per day! We've become almost dependent on these devices over time, and it needs to stop. We rely on our phones everyday to wake us up for school and to know the time of day. B. Relevance: We live in a world of ever changing technology. Products are always getting upgraded every year and everyone wants the biggest and newest thing on the market. It's hard to not get caught up in all the buzz of things. We feel almost "naked" without our phones; our attachment to them is overwhelming. Without them we feel as though we're missing out on what's happening in the world. Our heads are always down; our thumbs are always swiping up and down on our newsfeed. We're living a life that is more involved in someone else's social media accounts than our own. C. Credibility: As a student at this university I've realized every person on the quad has their heads Get more content on HelpWriting.net
  • 7. Persuasive Essay On The Art Of Art Art declares many things. It's a way for people to articulate their views, express their emotions, and communicate to the world in a way that gives them creative release. This ability to exhibit one's views in a imaginative and safe manner is exceptionally important to society's growth, and to border this freedom to articulate is detrimental. Art should not be hidden and concealed permanently from the public eye because some see it as vulgar due to the fact that many people have varying definitions as to what is crossing the line. Only certain, obvious things can be noted as truly indecent. Censorship is not an easy subject. As an artist, there is often a lot of tolerance for the obscene, from appreciation to detail on the human figure or the unique renditions of animalistic interaction. However, the majority of the public might find the same things that the artists see as a unique interpretation as vulgar. It is easy to see that such a standpoint must be taken into more consideration, as the point of indecency can differ greatly for a conservative Christian compared to a liberal atheist. The two images of what each group considers unseemly would most likely range in their obscenity, and so it would be difficult to put a line where one should be crossed. "If an image offends very many people, sooner or later someone will invoke the law, and along with it judges, legislators, policymakers, and the police," quotes Melinda Hinkson in Australia's Bill Henson scandal: notes on the new cultural attitude to images. Here we have a majority rule, where an image should only have action dealt upon it if enough people want change. This statue depicts a nude woman dancing, her body semi–geometric, and although you can not vividly see the all of the womans body parts, it is not difficult to know that she is supposed to be depicted as naked. A completely naked figure, Get more content on HelpWriting.net
  • 8. Persuasive Essay Gothic and science fiction stories and films have diverse themes that are interesting, and hook the audience. From good vs. evil to environmental issues, writers have been able to bring new ideas to literature. A theme is defined as a life lesson or message conveyed through the story. In Godzilla, War of the Worlds, andStar Wars: A New Hope there are important themes, some with important messages about issues going on in the world. An author can use their story to relay an important message to the audience and outreach to large groups. The point of this is to speak about something that will stick with the audience, or talk about popular issues that they will they speak out about, as well. The development of the theme in a story is very important, because without proper development, the author may not get the point across to the reader. Elements that are needed for an effective theme are characters, setting, and a plot. With these aspects, the theme should grasp the audience properly and be exciting. The film Godzilla, brings up environmental issues from the 1970's. It was released years after World War II, which was a very controversial time, because of the use of atomic bombs. The setting in the beginning of the film is France, and Godzilla is created because they test an atomic bomb in this area. The atomic bomb ruins everything in the area, and the mutant lizard becomes a destructor of the world. The next setting for the film is New York City, which is Get more content on HelpWriting.net
  • 9. Over the past two years, my persuasive writing skills have remained stagnant and have not grown much since I graduated from high school. The coursework of my chemical engineering classes has focused more on technical writing to convey data and facts to evaluate a hypothesis rather than to persuade a reader to think differently. However, I recognize that persuasivewriting has a place in my education, and I am eager to grow my abilities over the course of the semester. In this self–assessment, I will talk about the skills I want to develop and the strategies I will use along the way. Taking the self–assessment quiz made me realize how out of practice I have become in writing non–technical papers. The first and most important thing that I...show more content... My first drafts are often very cluttered and require a lot of work to shift the pieces around into an order that makes sense and has a natural flow to it. Additionally, if I do not have any direct quotes or sources that I really want to use, I will often write around those sections in my paragraphs requiring me to come back and insert these sources in a later stage of the writing process. Sometimes I cannot find anything good to fit in so the quote can feel forced at times. Also, this addition requires a possible rework of the paragraph to make sure that I am not being redundant or self–contradicting elsewhere in my writing. Identifying these areas of weakness allows for the development of a more focused and effective strategy to improve them. In order to address my weakness in writing persuasive appeals is to put the practice and time into crafting them. I am not going to get better overnight at this skill, so therefore I will need to be meticulous as I hone this skill. I will not allow myself to settle for good enough with my appeals but will instead keep writing into I develop something that is actually worthwhile. I plan to use the methods mentioned on a website I found to improve my persuasive writing and help get my points across. Regarding my body paragraph structure, I plan to make creating an outline a bona fide part of my writing Get more content on HelpWriting.net

  • 11. Persuasive Essay George Orwell wrote in his novel, 1984, that 'Big Brother is Watching You' to warn the generations of the future of what their world could become. Orwell warned people of the threat that a totalitarian government with mass surveillance could place on people and their rights. Even 67 years later, the message still rings true as the American public is constantly watched through surveillance, either by internet companies or by the government themselves. The "Big Brother" of modern times is our government, watching over the public and taking away our privacy rights under the guise of safety. The surveillance of the status quo should be decreased to limit the rights violations that are becoming increasingly common. While the government argues in defense of mass surveillance for the security of its citizens, it has become clear that surveillance has the opposite effect. In light of recent world events, foreign threats have become more and more prevalent. In fact, famed whistleblower Edward Snowden finds that countries like China, Germany, France, Andorra, and Russia can access our online activity through unencrypted websites (Edward Snowden: Here's How We Take Back The Internet). Recent hacks done by North Korea specifically has shown that the NSA has a weak hold on the information that it collects about its citizens. Foreign groups can take advantage of this information to carry out life threatening attacks on American soil or to undermine the capabilities of the U.S. Get more content on HelpWriting.net
  • 12. Writing A Persuasive Essay It's a simple enough idea, write an essay about a topic for credit. I'll admit I've written good essays in the past, I just have one issue with this topic; I am not a persuasive person. I don't have a passion to write about, or an idea in my head. Even if I was passionate about something, I doubt I have the skill to convince you. My arguments would consist of why I like the topic (or hate it) with an extreme bias, and I doubt that you would be moved. I couldn't convince you that the long hours of school take a toll on the students. Even if others agree with me, the way I word things, the lack of passion and my lack of being able to be assertive is the reason why I can't write this essay. First things first, the way I word my thoughts. Regardless ...show more content... You'll get this definition: "The writer takes a stand on an issue–either "for" or "against"–and builds the strongest possible argument to win over the reader. In a persuasive essay, it's the writer's job to convince the reader to accept a particular point of view or take a specific action." Along with a bunch of How Tos. I've have taken a stand that is very passive–aggressive, on why I can't write this essay. I know what you're thinking, this is ridiculous. Just think of it like this, as you sit there reading me ramble on and give excuses. You're starting to listen. Yes, you have been in my spot before, lack of passion words don't form right and you're just not clear enough. I see the irony here, this very essay, it contradicts itself. A persuasive essay on why I can't write a persuasive essay. In the end it's genius, I'm not faking an opinion or sing someone's thoughts. You might have considered this option before but it seemed too stupid. You looked up prompt after prompt. Nothing. When you finally settle you know it's not your best work and the grade shows. Or you did it last minute, reworded someone else's essay. You've even considered turning in nothing, I mean what's the point Get more content on HelpWriting.net

You spot a spike trap, you turn sharply, but it's too late! Bang! The sun–faded hula girl on the dashboard dances to the sound of rubber slapping against highway. You climb out of your battle barge, open the cargo hatch and see the rig's last spare tire, sitting on top of it is a red cooler; sweaty from the desert sun. It's the perfect size for a bag of ice and the fresh kidney your war chief awaits. • 14. Persuasive Speech : Effective Communication In writing it's important to have an understanding of what you're trying to convey for your audience in addition to how you you will present your ideas. Effective communication extends beyond having well organized writing expressed in complete and coherent sentences. The style, tone and clarity of writing must also be considered, as they are constantly changing relative to the audience. Again, analyzing one's audience and purpose is essential to successful writing. Appropriately, when choosing the most effective language, it is important to consider the document objective as well as the reader. In essence, this idea of effective use of language has been the overarching theme of this online English course. Each writing assignment...show more content... Thus, the style of language used within the text was often industry specific and possessed a more academic feeling. For example, in the text I often used abbreviations and slang acceptable within the discourse such as, SCM Supply chain management, KPI Key performance indicator, and RDT Resource dependence. The word choice in this assignment is indicative of that fact that language is chosen in a manner that is appropriate for both the audience and the purpose of the writing. Furthermore, perhaps the greatest contrast and the most evident of how language works differently in various types of writing is the discussion blog post. The blog post allowed the class to engage in different types of formality of language. The formality of the language one uses should match the formality of the situation and the relationship between the writer and reader. Therefore, as the public audience was a class of online students taking a required writing course in the summer, the formality of my writing has often been very informal. For example, in my blog post addressing my concern over the unworthy power of BeyoncГ© I wrote, "It was the year 2008 when the world was blessed with the images of BeyoncГ© (unapologetically) dancing around in a leotard. Not only is BeyoncГ©'s single lady video one of her most notable hits it begins her what is now a decade long relationship ending spree" (Marquis, 2016 ). • 16. Persuasive Essay About The Future What are you going to be when you grow up? The go–to inquiry of almost every adult in a child's life. It is asked almost in a whimsical way in the first few years; often met with innocently ambitious responses such as an astronaut or a deep sea diver. With most kids, myself included, the answer changed several times throughout grade school. My starry eyed dreams of becoming an archeologist soon shifted to architect, and then to wilderness firefighter, then soldier, policeman, engineer, and so on. I could be anything i could dream up in this world and i had forever to decide. However, there comes a point in every teenager's life where the question of the future starts to scare you. This distant future is now becoming a very real thing that needs to be figured out and planned, because it's almost time to make that next step. I've always heard it said that high school will be the quickest four years of your life. I had no idea just how fast until it was time for me to start preparing for the real world. Over the past two years, i've really done some "soul searching" so to speak, and I believe that i've found out what i'm going to do for the rest of my life. Now i know that whatever teacher got selected to read through the stacks of senior essays that contained my piece is probably laughing at that last bit. If only i knew right? But just hear me out. My goal is to become a pilot for the United States Marine Corps. From a very young age, the idea of flight has fascinated me. Get more content on HelpWriting.net

  • 19. How To Write A Persuasive Paper The importance of writing, I found, was in what you wrote about and its purpose, writing helps you get your ideas on paper and improve simply things like sentences, punctuation, spelling, and grammar. There are many types of writing for different purposes, for this semester we focused on persuasive and research papers, but there is also poetry, fiction, creative, narratives, and even more.. I feel I have grown as a writer in the organization, wording and lead–ins of papers. I also feel I have improved in my vocabulary and using different words to give the same meaning. The greatest writing accomplishments, I noticed in my persuasive and research papers were in connecting to the topic and lead–ins. In the research paper I improved in leading into the topic. My research paper was about cloning and in it I stated, "Ian WIlmut, a embryologist, and Keith Campbell, a cell biologist and embryologist, state in their book, The...show more content... I liked how I used word phrasing in the persuasive paper. In the persuasive paper you had to discredit the opposing side, I did this by stating, " Some parents and students argue that these books should be banned, but they are mistaken and misrepresenting the view of the book". For this I used different words and sometimes different orders to describe similar things and make it sound more educated and believable. In addition, something I found good in my paper was my discussions of the topics. In the persuasive paper about banning books I made a topic about why they shouldn't be banned, saying, " ...taking these books off the shelves and out of schools they are taking away students' First Amendment rights to choose what books they want to read". I used good discussions to make my point about the topic and persuade people to see the way I wanted them to. Conclusively, the persuasive paper was my favorite out of all the papers completed this Get more content on HelpWriting.net
