Reflective Essay On Social Psychology
Signing up for this general psychology class I didn't expect to learn and inspect my life actions as much as I have. Before taking this course my
attention had always been pulled regarding psychology as a whole, what I later pinned as social psychology. The way people think and relate to
other in the terms of emotion and relationships pulled my attention. The different experiments and how everyday actions and decisions can be
viewed under a microscope and understood in completely unique manners, excited my neurons. Having a best friend who was interested in the same
subject as me, we spent many hours discussing different terms and theories. He took online general psychology in high school and therefore knew
much more than me. Now, we both have psychology as our majors and he has become someone who I can count on if I don't understand terms or
theories completely. Not being this connected from the beginning, our friendship has grown which lead me to analyze just how I've ended up with my
friend. Many may say that things just happen randomly and this connection is pure luck. Well, through this course I have developed a few
understandings. There are many factors that lead to strong friendship, it's not just pure luck or correct timing. There's work and unknown tests that we
do before we can count on people. I attended all four years of high school with this guy but it wasn't until senior year that we actually grew close.
Freshman through junior year we knew of each other

Project Individual Reflection Paper and Project Group Through the completion of my project group in the assessment course, I have gained an
immense amount of knowledge and a plethora of assessment practice. The project framework allows me to contribute in the WMU's strategic plan
initiatives in developing a project about the Signature designation while taking the course. In here, I was able to create a variety of project's products,
such as project proposal, poster and project's presentation and evaluation. This paper reflects my knowledge and experience in the accomplishing of
the assessment course. Project Group Challenges There are several challenges to finishing the project group. First, the project has identified as an
initiative necessary to encourage students involving in the campus activities. In here, I have an opportunity for applying a rigorous assessment. For
instance, I have roles in the project to create literature review finding, co–curricular criteria transcript in others institutions and record the student
feedbacks in the steering committee of meeting in the project. Second, I learned how to collaborate in assessing program. In here, I have an
opportunity for discussing the findings with peer group to create a treaty of the evidence. The rigor in assessment is tended to document observation
and "reports on the observation of change" (Keeling, Wall, Urderhile, & Dungy, 2008, p. 35; Gardener, 2003). I found the Signature project is aligned

Evaluation
Within this section I am going to evaluate the good experiences I have had within this semester along with the not so good experiences, I believe by
pointing out my bad experiences/ weaknesses within this topic I will be able to develop my knowledge further in the future. Below are a few of my
different experiences.
Good experiences
Through the completion of this module my ability to work within a group has been developed and through dealing with the arising group problems I
have learned more about time management. * Skills developed within this subject will certainly aid me within my future presentations and individual
work. * Presentation skills within Power–point were developed upon as members within my group had more knowledge of the presentation skills
within it and were able to help me develop my knowledge of different icons etc. * Through the use of research and development techniques used to
complete our documents I have developed more business strategic management skills.
Bad Experiences * The bad experiences with this task were few and far between however, I feel that a few members of my group were not at the same
learning level as me and found it hard to understand some of my recommendations. * As well as them not being able to understand my
recommendations it was tough when reading some of the group members inputs to different things as there work was documented at a lower

Abstract This paper is my individual relection on how to handle difficult conversations. We are faced with difficulty to transfer the message we want
the other to understand and comply or support. Because of this complexity of communication barrier we end up in a conflict or a confrontation. When
this happens we let go of the problem – forget it , avoid it, avoid being involved or ignore it. Learning two way conversation and certain strategies to
handle a difficult conversation, is a step to better yourself in the way you voice out without any personal intent....show more content...
I had to think of a more approachable way to rely my messages across to my mother without creating any misunderstanding. I realized that I needed to
deliver the message towards thinking of it as a two–way learning conversation. (Christensen, 2011). When I thought over our argument I realized I
involved too much emotions and forgot about the company's interest. In that I noticed how money, as well as emotions are factors that lead to
difficult conversations as Christensen. K (2011). Moreover I also didn't take into consideration the age difference, refinement of etiquette,
difference of seeing things and also literateness. I sat with my mother on a normal day and asked her "Mom, how did you understand when I told
you we had to upgrade the quality of services we offer in the hotel?", she said "Mariah, I am not stupid you know, I do not know how to read and
write and that is not my fault because my parents couldn't send me to school but I give you the opportunity and you benefitted to where you are
today, and when you want to say something, talk to me in a manner you don't have to be sarcastic." It took me a while to understand what she meant
by me being sarcastic. I wondered whether my being straightforward telling her the truth was unacceptable or was it the way I said it. As according to
Amy & Diana I realized I had a personal motive conflict between my

Individual Academic Reflection
ENTREPRENUERSHIP: INDIVIDUAL ACADEMIC REFLECTION ESSAY A business plan is a written document that describes all the aspects of a
business venture in a concise manner. It is usually necessary to have a written business plan to raise money and attract high–quality business partners.
Some entrepreneurs are impatient and don't want to spend the time it takes to write a business plan (Barringer, B. and Ireland, R., 2011, pp. 25). To
generate a viable business plan, the entrepreneurs have to grab an opportunity available in the environment which needs to be exploited for creating a
new venture. An opportunity is a favourable set of circumstances that creates a need for a new product, service, or business (Barringer, B. and Ireland,
R., 2011, pp. 43). Opportunities do not suddenly appear, but rather it is through an entrepreneur's alertness to possibilities and identification of
opportunities. A business start–up requires numerous aspects to be considered and analysed and so, a written business plan makes a connection
between the business idea and the reality by establishing a detailed study and analysis of the business idea. Our group, "The Innovators", is a diverse
team of total six individuals with each member having different backgrounds and individuality. During the initial weeks, we understood the concepts of
a business plan and took the help of the lectures and materials provided to gain a better understanding of our plan of action for the business plan. The

Nursing is a caring profession that is encompasses collaborative and autonomous care to individuals of different backgrounds who is sick or well
(Olsson & Gullberg, 1991). Communication and autonomy are the core values of nursing that a professional nurse should integrate in their clinical
practices. Communication is the exchange of feelings, information and thoughts between different stakeholders with the equivalent aim of delivering a
coordinated patient care (Smith & Liehr, 2008). Effective communication is essential in the nursing field as it is the foundation of collaboration and
teamwork. Autonomy refers to the ability to act according to one's judgement and knowledge in order to provide a competent care to...show more

Although the patient's son questioned persistently about why his father's tracheostomy was being covered, the nurses never seriously addressed the
sons' concern. When announcing the verdicts during the inquest, the council chairwoman professor Lee said it is unacceptable that "the nurses were
simply following how the wound had been cared by other colleagues... it is always a nurse's responsibility to exercise his or her own independent
clinical judgement" (Tsang, 2016, para. 10). Hence, if the nurses have slightly questioned why the son was so concerned, the patients' death could be
easily avoided. Unfortunately, due to staff shortages, poor nurse–doctor interaction and heavy workload, it is arduous for nurses to utilize autonomy in
such stressful environment (Weiland, 2014). Studies have shown that autonomy over patient care and unit operation can be augmented through
continuing education and a climate of inquiry (Weston, 2008). Moreover, there should also be an emphasis on the nurses' freedom to make decisions
upon clinical patient care that is based on the art and science of nursing.
In conclusion, the core values of nursing are vital in clinical nursing practices. The mentioned medical blunder is the repercussion of overlooking the
two core values, communication and autonomy. Workplace culture and environment are the main cause of these values being neglected. It is suggested
that trainings that focuses on teamwork will amend communication issues between medical staffs. Furthermore, encouraging a common practice of
inquiry as well as giving nurses the freedom to make decisions about patient care will enhance nurses'

Reflective Report: An analysis of Everest Simulations| Evaluating experiences| Joey Lai z3332966|
Executive Summary:
This report is a reflection of the experiences of the two Everest Simulations, examining and analysing the individual's actions and their role and the
impact it has on the group. The discussion then incorporates theories of communication, leadership and organisational structure to compare and
critically analyse the results of the simulations and determine the overall success of the team. The report will also analyse the changes and evaluate the
impact past experience had on the decisions and results on the second simulation. Further the processes of interaction will be evaluated to determine its
effectiveness,...show more content...
This report will also explore the changes, instigated from the experiences of simulation one and how, if any of such changes impacted and influenced
the actions of the second simulation.
Further the processes of interaction will be examined to evaluate its effectiveness. Effectiveness in this report will be examined according to the
degree of positive group experience; one's learning process as well as the group and individual goals. Conversely, negative team experiences will be
used to analyse team dynamics that results from differing expectations, backgrounds and goals.
Finally, the team results will also be used as an indication of the team's success, although success is not limited to the numerical value but in particular
the learning process. It will also examine the validity of the team contract and its impact on the team's interaction. Therefore the report will analyse the
results in conjunction with the actual experiences as a reflection of the overall success of the group's task.
1. Preparation for Simulation One
The group experience began from the instant the group was formed, our first interaction was one of excitement and uncertainty with little knowledge
and limited expectations of the actual simulation. Being an ad hoc team (Alge, Klein, Wiethoff 2003) with no prior experience and no future
interaction it became a hindrance to my

Thus, the Managing Board is responsible for conducting top management activities across different divisions worldwide (Siemens, 2009). A
decentralized structure can be obviously seen in Siemens, because each division is independent from other divisions in terms of managerial and
operational role although sharing a similar reporting structure towards headquarters (Davenport & Probst, 2002). At this point, the decentralized
company structure and the independent division made me believe that Siemens is more likely to be in a stage of host country orientation. However,
taking a careful look at its subsidiary company like Siemens (China) Ltd., it shows no clues that the executive structure in China are constituted based
on nationalities. To be more specific, eight people in the executive managerial team, two of them came from Germany, one is a Taiwanese, and the rest
are Chinese. To me, this executive structure is more like in the stage of geocentrism attitude. From the executive lists on the website of Siemens (China)

executives. Besides, the region objectives of Siemens (China) and Siemens global objectives are almost identical. Objectives of Siemens global are to

Personal Self Reflection Assignment
Self–Reflection Assignment INTRODUCTION: The purpose of this assignment is to self–reflect on what has been learnt in the topic this semester and
how it is going to influence as a health professional in our chosen field. This assessment is made to encourage us to be able to identify the values and
beliefs we have as individuals and how these impact on our ability to interact without others in a diverse society. This self–reflection will include the
results from an Implicit Association Test to help gain a greater awareness of my own unconscious thoughts as well as evidence from reliable sources
to help back up statements and give evidence to support this assessment. BACKGROUND AND CURRENT SITUATION: After doing a
self–assessment on my background I believe in time I have changed my views on certain aspects of the diverse society in which we all live in. I
strongly believe my background, the way I was brought up and my experiences influence majorly on my values and beliefs as well as my
interaction in a diverse society. I have many different attitudes towards races, ethnicity, gender, social class, religion, sexual orientation and
abilities and these are explored below. I have a very strong belief and attitude in valuing all races and nationalities as I believe we are all equal and we
all deserve a chance and equal opportunity. I believe we do not necessarily need to be identified as different races, but instead I feel we should all be
identified as individuals with our own

Personal And Social Identity Reflection Paper
Reflection My family shaped my personal and social identity at a micro level by being the first set of influencers the moment I was born. My
personal identity is significantly influenced by my family through the approach that my parents have taken to raise and nurture me. The results of
my parents raising me is shown through the behaviour and beliefs that I embody. For example, because of my family I have always been aware
that there is a God. In consequence, my compliant behaviour towards religion has already been constructed at a young age. Moreover, my social
identity's structure was shaped by my family through they way they have socially interacted with me. My micro level interactions with my family
throughout time has created a deeply rooted influence within me. The influence that my family has had on my social identity is demonstrated in the
way that I respond in certain social situations. For example, through behavioural observation as a child I have learned not to speak back to my
parents when they are lecturing me. Similar to my family's critical role in my personal and social identity's development, my ethnicity also
contributes some of the most noticeable modifications of a social agents affect on an individual's personal and social identity. Ethnicity provides a
sense of belonging to a group and or a place in a globalised society. As for myself, ethnicity on a micro, meso and macro scale has become a major
element in my personal and social identity's

Reflection Paper On Marketing
At the beginning of this class, my main objective was to learn more about finance and learn about marketing. When I first review the class's syllabus,
I thought this class would be mainly about marketing and investments, but I was glad to find out that the class was about more than just marketing. I
would definitely say that I met my objectives and even more because I learned more than I was expecting. This class helped developed a security
about a business idea that was on my mind for years which is having my own private investigations company. Before this class, the idea of owning a
company about something that I am very passionate about was only just an idea and I never thought I could have been developed a possible marketing
plan. Thanks to this class, I was able to work on a marketing plan for my dream company. Even though some assignments were difficult, I felt that no
one could have taken the excitement I felt every single time I sat down to work on my own business marketing plan.
It is important to mention that my feelings about this great experience are truthful. I understand that some people might say that most students are not
truthful when given feedback about the class or the professor because they fear retaliation, but I am very happy to say this is not the case for me. I
am a very truthful person and I say it how it is, I am not the type of student that would write something nice to make the professor feel better or to
avoid a low grade, I just

Reflective Individual Reflection : Level 4
Reflective Individual Reflection: Level 4
Starting my journey through college again was a big decision for me. Being a single parent of two children, a homeowner, and holding a stressful,
full–time job left me with little free time. However, I longed to reinvent myself and find a way to advance my career. Meeting personal goals to
further my education outweighed the guilt I felt, as my children were not young any longer. I decided to make advancing my education a top priority.
Discovering that when I have a goal my follow through is definite, but it is not always easy. What I overlooked as I headed down the path to fulfill my
educational goal, was that stress has real health consequences.
Stress is a natural way for a person to quickly react to an alarming situation. When the brain perceives a threat, it tells the body to react by releasing
hormones, pushing it into overdrive until the threat has gone (Mayo Clinic Staff, 2014). Everyday stress in life, or acute stress, is the most common
and has no long–term damaging side effects (Miller & Smith, 1994). Episodic acute stress is found in those who suffer from acute stress frequently
(Miller & Smith, 1994). This type of stress is linked to personality types, ceaseless worriers or people who are very controlling are easily pushed into
episodic acute stress cycles. The symptoms of episodic acute stress are persistent tension headaches, migraines, hypertension, chest pain and heart
disease. Chronic stress comes

Another Step of a Long Process: Studying English Academic writing is an art of expressing and transforming thoughts and ideas into physical form to
deliver information logically and scientifically. This skill needs to be refined and practiced constantly regularly. After three months of taking ESL 273,
I have accumulated various experiences in writing advanced sentences and organizing academic essays which are really necessary for me to perform
well in the next English course, ESL 5, as well as other classes. As a result, I think I am well–prepared and ready for the next coming course ESL 5.

Consequently, I did not have enough time to check and edit some minor errors existing in my essay "Society Built our Perception and Ability" like
verb tense, punctuation, and word form. This also explains why I usually perform successfully in the grammar tests given by my teacher, but I still
repeat those grammar mistakes again in my essays. Even though those errors do not affect readers' comprehensions but they might be distracted and
thus the quality of my essay would be diminished. To help students combat this mistake, my teacher has applied an interesting teaching strategy
which is collaborative learning. To do this, I work in pair with another friend and exchange our writing assignments in order to check other partner's
errors. I feel that this method works really well in my case because checking my partner's mistakes has helped me to reinforce my proofreading skill.
Besides, I find out a strategy to deal with the shortage of time of an in–class writing. To do this, I try to recheck and go over a sentence as I write to
make sure it is free of grammar and punctuation mistakes. This new approach is very compatible and essential for me in order to be successful when I
get into higher English classes like ESL 5 and EWRT 1A because I actually check my essay three or four times before I finish it. In ESL 273, I have

Reflection Paper On Ethical Leadership
The purpose of this paper is to reflect on my thoughts on how I can utilize certain methods that will help shape the vision of the organization. I will
explain how ethics play a role in leadership and decision making. This week I encountered multiple dilemmas which affected my actions at work,
home, and school; in this paper I will exploit those dilemmas and how they are considered weakness that I incorporated in my IDP. Using last week 's
assignment to start an IDP, I came up with certain actions (part 3) to take to further advance myself as a leader. The reasoning behind these actions will
show how proper ethical actions define a leader, and the influence it holds with the organization's culture.

It is rare that a person can easily find their own faults, because they think that everything they do is right or justified. For the longest time this was
me. As expressed by Urbany, Joel, Reynolds, and Phillips (2008), "Chief among these traps, especially regarding decisions that people later come to
regret, is their failure to evaluate decisions in a comprehensive way that focuses on values trade–offs." I thought I was a great leader, and there was
nothing else that I could learn as a person. It was through the assessments and this week's work reflection, I realized through regret there is so much
work needs to be done. I have to acknowledge my downfalls willingly in order to correct them. I realized that my ambitions strive me to continually
take on tasks. I felt overwhelmed this week because of these ambitions. I understand that my attitude at times can alter a situation because I have people
looking at everything that I do. Even though I tried to hide my true feelings for the best of the organization, my thoughts reflected in my actions. Two
other weaknesses are time–management and organization. These two goes hand in hand and I realized that I suffer tremendously from lack thereof
and have found multiple solutions to help enhance these weaknesses as I expressed in the IDP. I feel these two will be challenging as well because I
realize that organization at work is limited. It is much more of filling in the gaps and

Personal Reflection On Group Work
Personal Reflection
"Group work is a form of voluntary association of members benefiting from cooperative learning that enhances the total output of the activity than when
done individually".
Working in a group can be very difficult at times. Different people with different views may not always agree which one another. Throughout the
various task I played the communicator. I made sure everyone was on track on what we wanted to do. I also made sure people was okay and
happy in the role they was playing in the group. My group worked together in collecting ideas from one another and making it into one. My
feelings about the group process was a little mix at first but, at the end I felt like we actually brought it together. Beginning of the group member
were all over the place and had no direction, when we were able to take a breather in just think ideas started to flow. I felt like that took the
communicator to make it happen. By reinsuring the other group members that everything will go smoothly if we just don't overthink everything. The
things I will have done differently in the group was to use my time wisely. I believe because we were on a time frame, I tended to rush things just to
say okay where done. Also, more support and trust at a point of time I was kind of second guessing another idea. I feel that you have to have trust in
your group member to make it effective.

Reflective Essay On Group Work
It's universally known that group assignments can be a headache to deal with. Working in a group can be very complicated whether they are at
school or at work. However, group assignments do not have to be difficult. There are many ways one can make this situation more desirable. Through
test and trials, many people have learned ways to deal with groups in ways that can lead to new and exciting relationships with your group members.
The point of group work is to help you as an individual understand that in life you never go in alone. There will always be someone besides you
whether you like them or not you should be able to work together to reach your goal. I was paired with a group for one of my courses and I learned
through our interactions how to deal with my group and found that it becomes easier with these simple steps.
First interaction: In my group's first interaction I immediately felt as though this was going to be difficult. I couldn't help but think of all the negative
things about my group due to my past complications with groups. My frame of reference which consists of my perspective and view on things such
as belief, value, gender, and attitude. I thought that since there were 5 boys in the group and I was the only girl it was going to be hard to
communicate with them. Men and women tend to have a different way of communication to others. Women are more likely to try and maintain
harmony in groups while men are more likely talk over others and conversate in a more competitive manner pg101. I felt as though because my group
was mainly male–oriented my group members would unintentionally ignore my comments in our soon to come meetings. But the mere thought that
this would be difficult simply because I was a girl is the issue, the gender expectations that women and men hold are what causes issues. Also, I was
analyzing their body language, I assumed that this group was going to be a burden because half of the boys were either unprepared for the course or
simply didn't care enough to try. So, to counteract that thought a good way to get a decent feel for each member's characteristics is through
introductions. Introducing yourself Is a good start for getting to know your members, things you're

The Importance Of Reflection
The aim of this essay is to highlight the importance of reflection. Initially by breaking down individual skills including curriculum vitae (CV) writing,
book and journal evaluation and self–evaluation through sources such as the initial skills identification tasks and evaluation workbook (InSITE).
Reflective practice is imperative in order to bridge a gap between theory and practice ensuring that one lends itself to the other and an
understanding is creating rather than simply a motor pattern, (Jasper 2013). Through reflection it has become clear that a CV should follow a set
foundation however be tailored to a specific job specification (Bright and Earl 2010). Monster (2017) describes a CV as a summary of one's career
history, personal skills, hobbies and interests. A view supported by (Innes 2012) who also highlights the importance of presentation as well as
content. Presentation is a key aspect of CV writing due to the limited time employers will spend deliberating over it, an argument confirmed by
(Bright and Earl 2010). Whilst presentation is an important part of a CV it is vital that content is as meaningful as it is well presented. A CV is
much an advertisement as it is an application, the sole purpose although to inform is to convince the reader of their suitability for the role (Bright and
Earl 2010). Persuasive language therefore is as important as informative language. Schmidt and Kess (1986) describes the recipient of the persuasion
as an important part of his own involvement in the persuasive process. With this in mind it can be concluded that whilst presentation is key within the
first thirty seconds of receiving the CV (Innes 2012) and persuasive language is also useful it ultimately comes down to content. Collecting
information from various sources during the CV evaluation eluded to the need to ensure that the sources were credible and reliable. The book which
will be evaluated in this essay is Acute Cardiac Care: A Practical Guide for Nurses Kucia and Quinn (2010) (Appendix, A) alongside the journal
Ventilator associated pneumonia (VAP) Hunter (2012) (Appendix, B). Phillipe and Dellavelade (2014) indicate the importance of information
evaluation by stating that information which may be

Reflective Essay On Self Esteem
Self–acceptance is an extremely prevalent issue that numerous people struggle with. It is one of the hardest to surmount, for it is something I still
struggle with to this day. Overall, my journey is a working progress as it will perpetuate to have its downfalls to test me. Like many of my generation,
social media has played an excessively paramount role in our lives, both negatively and positively. Sources of harmless entertainment have also
unintentionally encouraged self–judgment. Be that as it may, my perspective has been widely opened unexpectedly through a speaker's presentation as
she showed us how to recognize our self–worth. Confidence and self–esteem are hard to acquire for some, but it should not be a quantity you divest
yourself of. Self–acceptance of all insecurities and doubts is paramount since every individual has a unique beauty that should be cherished in order to
pursue a life full of love and jubilance.
During my sophomore year in high school, we had a Career Day with several guest speakers. They had split us up by gender, the girls stayed on
the right side of the school while the boys stayed on the left. We could not enter the opposite sides considering we had presentations concretely for
each group. As the boys had speakers to discuss the development of a gentleman, we had speakers addressing topics relating to makeup and on how
to be a lady. Towards the end of the day, my friends and I decided to choose our last presentation randomly. As we entered the room, there was this
resplendent woman with a surprisingly cordial atmosphere. She addressed us as if we were her own children; you could sense the love she had for
positivity before she even commenced to speak. She gave us a background story of her childhood during our age, for she too had struggled with
accepting herself with all her insecurities. She described her several encounters with bullying and how it had impacted her self–esteem even though she
appeared so vigorous and confident. I admired that about her the most, not once did she ever show the slightest bit of weakness, yet she too had
relatable problems. Then she mandated us to indite down the worst thing someone had ever verbally expressed about us, even if it were of our own

Personal Reflection Paper On Working
Throughout this essay, I reflect on the semester that I had whilst undertaking 2031HSV Working in Organisations. Topics are discussed such as, new
areas I encountered, skills and knowledge I have that I was previously unaware of, as well as the challenges that I faced throughout the semester.
Firstly within this essay, I would like to discuss areas that were new to me throughout this course. I believe that working in groups will be extremely
beneficial throughout my future social work career. However, working within such a largegroup (group of 11 people) was an extremely different
concept than what I was accustomed to. I found throughout my reflection upon the semester that working in large groups (in contrast to working
individually) posed many positive and negative qualities. Beginning with the strengths I recognised and rejoiced in the fact that there was a variety of
different people that I had the perfect opportunity to get to know better. As the semester advanced, I become familiarised to eachindividual's strengths
and weaknesses within the group, as well as my own. As a group we were able to thrive of the different experiences and expertise that other member
could bring to the group, as well as compensate for other group members skill limitations with an empathetic and non–judgmental attitude. Thus overall
making the group that I was assigned to, a very enjoyable group of people. As stated previously large group work, is a new concept to me, therefore the

Reflective Essay On Social Psychology

  • 1. Reflective Essay On Social Psychology Signing up for this general psychology class I didn't expect to learn and inspect my life actions as much as I have. Before taking this course my attention had always been pulled regarding psychology as a whole, what I later pinned as social psychology. The way people think and relate to other in the terms of emotion and relationships pulled my attention. The different experiments and how everyday actions and decisions can be viewed under a microscope and understood in completely unique manners, excited my neurons. Having a best friend who was interested in the same subject as me, we spent many hours discussing different terms and theories. He took online general psychology in high school and therefore knew much more than me. Now, we both have psychology as our majors and he has become someone who I can count on if I don't understand terms or theories completely. Not being this connected from the beginning, our friendship has grown which lead me to analyze just how I've ended up with my friend. Many may say that things just happen randomly and this connection is pure luck. Well, through this course I have developed a few understandings. There are many factors that lead to strong friendship, it's not just pure luck or correct timing. There's work and unknown tests that we do before we can count on people. I attended all four years of high school with this guy but it wasn't until senior year that we actually grew close. Freshman through junior year we knew of each other Get more content on HelpWriting.net
  • 2. Project Individual Reflection Paper and Project Group Through the completion of my project group in the assessment course, I have gained an immense amount of knowledge and a plethora of assessment practice. The project framework allows me to contribute in the WMU's strategic plan initiatives in developing a project about the Signature designation while taking the course. In here, I was able to create a variety of project's products, such as project proposal, poster and project's presentation and evaluation. This paper reflects my knowledge and experience in the accomplishing of the assessment course. Project Group Challenges There are several challenges to finishing the project group. First, the project has identified as an initiative necessary to encourage students involving in the campus activities. In here, I have an opportunity for applying a rigorous assessment. For instance, I have roles in the project to create literature review finding, co–curricular criteria transcript in others institutions and record the student feedbacks in the steering committee of meeting in the project. Second, I learned how to collaborate in assessing program. In here, I have an opportunity for discussing the findings with peer group to create a treaty of the evidence. The rigor in assessment is tended to document observation and "reports on the observation of change" (Keeling, Wall, Urderhile, & Dungy, 2008, p. 35; Gardener, 2003). I found the Signature project is aligned to the Get more content on HelpWriting.net

Evaluation Within this section I am going to evaluate the good experiences I have had within this semester along with the not so good experiences, I believe by pointing out my bad experiences/ weaknesses within this topic I will be able to develop my knowledge further in the future. Below are a few of my different experiences. Good experiences Through the completion of this module my ability to work within a group has been developed and through dealing with the arising group problems I have learned more about time management. * Skills developed within this subject will certainly aid me within my future presentations and individual work. * Presentation skills within Power–point were developed upon as members within my group had more knowledge of the presentation skills within it and were able to help me develop my knowledge of different icons etc. * Through the use of research and development techniques used to complete our documents I have developed more business strategic management skills. Bad Experiences * The bad experiences with this task were few and far between however, I feel that a few members of my group were not at the same learning level as me and found it hard to understand some of my recommendations. * As well as them not being able to understand my recommendations it was tough when reading some of the group members inputs to different things as there work was documented at a lower

  • 5. Individual Reflection : Handling Difficult Conversations Mariah Kamal A00452085 Walden University Due: November 1, 2013 Submitted: November 18, 2013 Abstract This paper is my individual relection on how to handle difficult conversations. We are faced with difficulty to transfer the message we want the other to understand and comply or support. Because of this complexity of communication barrier we end up in a conflict or a confrontation. When this happens we let go of the problem – forget it , avoid it, avoid being involved or ignore it. Learning two way conversation and certain strategies to handle a difficult conversation, is a step to better yourself in the way you voice out without any personal intent....show more content... I had to think of a more approachable way to rely my messages across to my mother without creating any misunderstanding. I realized that I needed to deliver the message towards thinking of it as a two–way learning conversation. (Christensen, 2011). When I thought over our argument I realized I involved too much emotions and forgot about the company's interest. In that I noticed how money, as well as emotions are factors that lead to difficult conversations as Christensen. K (2011). Moreover I also didn't take into consideration the age difference, refinement of etiquette, difference of seeing things and also literateness. I sat with my mother on a normal day and asked her "Mom, how did you understand when I told you we had to upgrade the quality of services we offer in the hotel?", she said "Mariah, I am not stupid you know, I do not know how to read and write and that is not my fault because my parents couldn't send me to school but I give you the opportunity and you benefitted to where you are today, and when you want to say something, talk to me in a manner you don't have to be sarcastic." It took me a while to understand what she meant by me being sarcastic. I wondered whether my being straightforward telling her the truth was unacceptable or was it the way I said it. As according to Amy & Diana I realized I had a personal motive conflict between my Get more content on HelpWriting.net
  • 6. Individual Academic Reflection ENTREPRENUERSHIP: INDIVIDUAL ACADEMIC REFLECTION ESSAY A business plan is a written document that describes all the aspects of a business venture in a concise manner. It is usually necessary to have a written business plan to raise money and attract high–quality business partners. Some entrepreneurs are impatient and don't want to spend the time it takes to write a business plan (Barringer, B. and Ireland, R., 2011, pp. 25). To generate a viable business plan, the entrepreneurs have to grab an opportunity available in the environment which needs to be exploited for creating a new venture. An opportunity is a favourable set of circumstances that creates a need for a new product, service, or business (Barringer, B. and Ireland, R., 2011, pp. 43). Opportunities do not suddenly appear, but rather it is through an entrepreneur's alertness to possibilities and identification of opportunities. A business start–up requires numerous aspects to be considered and analysed and so, a written business plan makes a connection between the business idea and the reality by establishing a detailed study and analysis of the business idea. Our group, "The Innovators", is a diverse team of total six individuals with each member having different backgrounds and individuality. During the initial weeks, we understood the concepts of a business plan and took the help of the lectures and materials provided to gain a better understanding of our plan of action for the business plan. • 7. Individual Reflective Essay Nursing is a caring profession that is encompasses collaborative and autonomous care to individuals of different backgrounds who is sick or well (Olsson & Gullberg, 1991). Communication and autonomy are the core values of nursing that a professional nurse should integrate in their clinical practices. Communication is the exchange of feelings, information and thoughts between different stakeholders with the equivalent aim of delivering a coordinated patient care (Smith & Liehr, 2008). Effective communication is essential in the nursing field as it is the foundation of collaboration and teamwork. Autonomy refers to the ability to act according to one's judgement and knowledge in order to provide a competent care to...show more content... Although the patient's son questioned persistently about why his father's tracheostomy was being covered, the nurses never seriously addressed the sons' concern. When announcing the verdicts during the inquest, the council chairwoman professor Lee said it is unacceptable that "the nurses were simply following how the wound had been cared by other colleagues... it is always a nurse's responsibility to exercise his or her own independent clinical judgement" (Tsang, 2016, para. 10). Hence, if the nurses have slightly questioned why the son was so concerned, the patients' death could be easily avoided. Unfortunately, due to staff shortages, poor nurse–doctor interaction and heavy workload, it is arduous for nurses to utilize autonomy in such stressful environment (Weiland, 2014). Studies have shown that autonomy over patient care and unit operation can be augmented through continuing education and a climate of inquiry (Weston, 2008). Moreover, there should also be an emphasis on the nurses' freedom to make decisions upon clinical patient care that is based on the art and science of nursing. In conclusion, the core values of nursing are vital in clinical nursing practices. The mentioned medical blunder is the repercussion of overlooking the two core values, communication and autonomy. Workplace culture and environment are the main cause of these values being neglected. It is suggested that trainings that focuses on teamwork will amend communication issues between medical staffs. Furthermore, encouraging a common practice of inquiry as well as giving nurses the freedom to make decisions about patient care will enhance nurses' Get more content on HelpWriting.net

The discussion then incorporates theories of communication, leadership and organisational structure to compare and critically analyse the results of the simulations and determine the overall success of the team. Further the processes of interaction will be evaluated to determine its effectiveness,...show more content... This report will also explore the changes, instigated from the experiences of simulation one and how, if any of such changes impacted and influenced the actions of the second simulation. Further the processes of interaction will be examined to evaluate its effectiveness. Effectiveness in this report will be examined according to the degree of positive group experience; one's learning process as well as the group and individual goals. Conversely, negative team experiences will be used to analyse team dynamics that results from differing expectations, backgrounds and goals. Finally, the team results will also be used as an indication of the team's success, although success is not limited to the numerical value but in particular the learning process. It will also examine the validity of the team contract and its impact on the team's interaction. Therefore the report will analyse the results in conjunction with the actual experiences as a reflection of the overall success of the group's task. 1. Preparation for Simulation One The group experience began from the instant the group was formed, our first interaction was one of excitement and uncertainty with little knowledge and limited expectations of the actual simulation. A decentralized structure can be obviously seen in Siemens, because each division is independent from other divisions in terms of managerial and operational role although sharing a similar reporting structure towards headquarters (Davenport & Probst, 2002). At this point, the decentralized company structure and the independent division made me believe that Siemens is more likely to be in a stage of host country orientation. However, taking a careful look at its subsidiary company like Siemens (China) Ltd., it shows no clues that the executive structure in China are constituted based on nationalities. To be more specific, eight people in the executive managerial team, two of them came from Germany, one is a Taiwanese, and the rest are Chinese. To me, this executive structure is more like in the stage of geocentrism attitude. From the executive lists on the website of Siemens (China) Ltd. we can see, there is no such a phenomenon that only German executives leading Chinese executives, neither Siemens only empower local executives. • 10. Personal Self Reflection Assignment Self–Reflection Assignment INTRODUCTION: The purpose of this assignment is to self–reflect on what has been learnt in the topic this semester and how it is going to influence as a health professional in our chosen field. This assessment is made to encourage us to be able to identify the values and beliefs we have as individuals and how these impact on our ability to interact without others in a diverse society. This self–reflection will include the results from an Implicit Association Test to help gain a greater awareness of my own unconscious thoughts as well as evidence from reliable sources to help back up statements and give evidence to support this assessment. BACKGROUND AND CURRENT SITUATION: After doing a self–assessment on my background I believe in time I have changed my views on certain aspects of the diverse society in which we all live in. I strongly believe my background, the way I was brought up and my experiences influence majorly on my values and beliefs as well as my interaction in a diverse society. I have many different attitudes towards races, ethnicity, gender, social class, religion, sexual orientation and abilities and these are explored below. I have a very strong belief and attitude in valuing all races and nationalities as I believe we are all equal and we all deserve a chance and equal opportunity. I believe we do not necessarily need to be identified as different races, but instead I feel we should all be identified as individuals with our own Get more content on HelpWriting.net
  • 11. Personal And Social Identity Reflection Paper Reflection My family shaped my personal and social identity at a micro level by being the first set of influencers the moment I was born. My personal identity is significantly influenced by my family through the approach that my parents have taken to raise and nurture me. The results of my parents raising me is shown through the behaviour and beliefs that I embody. For example, because of my family I have always been aware that there is a God. In consequence, my compliant behaviour towards religion has already been constructed at a young age. Moreover, my social identity's structure was shaped by my family through they way they have socially interacted with me. My micro level interactions with my family throughout time has created a deeply rooted influence within me. The influence that my family has had on my social identity is demonstrated in the way that I respond in certain social situations. For example, through behavioural observation as a child I have learned not to speak back to my parents when they are lecturing me. Similar to my family's critical role in my personal and social identity's development, my ethnicity also contributes some of the most noticeable modifications of a social agents affect on an individual's personal and social identity. Ethnicity provides a sense of belonging to a group and or a place in a globalised society. • 12. Reflection Paper On Marketing At the beginning of this class, my main objective was to learn more about finance and learn about marketing. When I first review the class's syllabus, I thought this class would be mainly about marketing and investments, but I was glad to find out that the class was about more than just marketing. I would definitely say that I met my objectives and even more because I learned more than I was expecting. This class helped developed a security about a business idea that was on my mind for years which is having my own private investigations company. Before this class, the idea of owning a company about something that I am very passionate about was only just an idea and I never thought I could have been developed a possible marketing plan. Thanks to this class, I was able to work on a marketing plan for my dream company. Even though some assignments were difficult, I felt that no one could have taken the excitement I felt every single time I sat down to work on my own business marketing plan. It is important to mention that my feelings about this great experience are truthful. I understand that some people might say that most students are not truthful when given feedback about the class or the professor because they fear retaliation, but I am very happy to say this is not the case for me. I am a very truthful person and I say it how it is, I am not the type of student that would write something nice to make the professor feel better or to avoid a low grade, I just Get more content on HelpWriting.net
  • 13. Reflective Individual Reflection : Level 4 Reflective Individual Reflection: Level 4 Starting my journey through college again was a big decision for me. Being a single parent of two children, a homeowner, and holding a stressful, full–time job left me with little free time. However, I longed to reinvent myself and find a way to advance my career. Meeting personal goals to further my education outweighed the guilt I felt, as my children were not young any longer. I decided to make advancing my education a top priority. Discovering that when I have a goal my follow through is definite, but it is not always easy. What I overlooked as I headed down the path to fulfill my educational goal, was that stress has real health consequences. Stress is a natural way for a person to quickly react to an alarming situation. When the brain perceives a threat, it tells the body to react by releasing hormones, pushing it into overdrive until the threat has gone (Mayo Clinic Staff, 2014). Everyday stress in life, or acute stress, is the most common and has no long–term damaging side effects (Miller & Smith, 1994). Episodic acute stress is found in those who suffer from acute stress frequently (Miller & Smith, 1994). This type of stress is linked to personality types, ceaseless worriers or people who are very controlling are easily pushed into episodic acute stress cycles. The symptoms of episodic acute stress are persistent tension headaches, migraines, hypertension, chest pain and heart disease. Chronic stress comes Get more content on HelpWriting.net

Another Step of a Long Process: Studying English Academic writing is an art of expressing and transforming thoughts and ideas into physical form to deliver information logically and scientifically. This skill needs to be refined and practiced constantly regularly. After three months of taking ESL 273, I have accumulated various experiences in writing advanced sentences and organizing academic essays which are really necessary for me to perform well in the next English course, ESL 5, as well as other classes. Consequently, I did not have enough time to check and edit some minor errors existing in my essay "Society Built our Perception and Ability" like verb tense, punctuation, and word form. This also explains why I usually perform successfully in the grammar tests given by my teacher, but I still repeat those grammar mistakes again in my essays. Even though those errors do not affect readers' comprehensions but they might be distracted and thus the quality of my essay would be diminished. To help students combat this mistake, my teacher has applied an interesting teaching strategy which is collaborative learning. To do this, I work in pair with another friend and exchange our writing assignments in order to check other partner's errors. I feel that this method works really well in my case because checking my partner's mistakes has helped me to reinforce my proofreading skill. Besides, I find out a strategy to deal with the shortage of time of an in–class writing. To do this, I try to recheck and go over a sentence as I write to make sure it is free of grammar and punctuation mistakes. This new approach is very compatible and essential for me in order to be successful when I get into higher English classes like ESL 5 and EWRT 1A because I actually check my essay three or four times before I finish it. I will explain how ethics play a role in leadership and decision making. This week I encountered multiple dilemmas which affected my actions at work, home, and school; in this paper I will exploit those dilemmas and how they are considered weakness that I incorporated in my IDP. Using last week 's assignment to start an IDP, I came up with certain actions (part 3) to take to further advance myself as a leader. The reasoning behind these actions will show how proper ethical actions define a leader, and the influence it holds with the organization's culture. For the longest time this was me. As expressed by Urbany, Joel, Reynolds, and Phillips (2008), "Chief among these traps, especially regarding decisions that people later come to regret, is their failure to evaluate decisions in a comprehensive way that focuses on values trade–offs." I thought I was a great leader, and there was nothing else that I could learn as a person. It was through the assessments and this week's work reflection, I realized through regret there is so much work needs to be done. I have to acknowledge my downfalls willingly in order to correct them. I realized that my ambitions strive me to continually take on tasks. I felt overwhelmed this week because of these ambitions. I understand that my attitude at times can alter a situation because I have people looking at everything that I do. Even though I tried to hide my true feelings for the best of the organization, my thoughts reflected in my actions. Two other weaknesses are time–management and organization. These two goes hand in hand and I realized that I suffer tremendously from lack thereof and have found multiple solutions to help enhance these weaknesses as I expressed in the IDP. I feel these two will be challenging as well because I realize that organization at work is limited. It is much more of filling in the gaps and Get more content on HelpWriting.net

Working in a group can be very difficult at times. Different people with different views may not always agree which one another. Throughout the various task I played the communicator. I made sure everyone was on track on what we wanted to do. I also made sure people was okay and happy in the role they was playing in the group. My group worked together in collecting ideas from one another and making it into one. My feelings about the group process was a little mix at first but, at the end I felt like we actually brought it together. Beginning of the group member were all over the place and had no direction, when we were able to take a breather in just think ideas started to flow. I felt like that took the communicator to make it happen. By reinsuring the other group members that everything will go smoothly if we just don't overthink everything. The things I will have done differently in the group was to use my time wisely. I believe because we were on a time frame, I tended to rush things just to say okay where done. Also, more support and trust at a point of time I was kind of second guessing another idea. I feel that you have to have trust in your group member to make it effective. • 17. Reflective Essay On Group Work It's universally known that group assignments can be a headache to deal with. Working in a group can be very complicated whether they are at school or at work. However, group assignments do not have to be difficult. There are many ways one can make this situation more desirable. Through test and trials, many people have learned ways to deal with groups in ways that can lead to new and exciting relationships with your group members. The point of group work is to help you as an individual understand that in life you never go in alone. There will always be someone besides you whether you like them or not you should be able to work together to reach your goal. I was paired with a group for one of my courses and I learned through our interactions how to deal with my group and found that it becomes easier with these simple steps. First interaction: In my group's first interaction I immediately felt as though this was going to be difficult. I couldn't help but think of all the negative things about my group due to my past complications with groups. My frame of reference which consists of my perspective and view on things such as belief, value, gender, and attitude. I thought that since there were 5 boys in the group and I was the only girl it was going to be hard to communicate with them. Men and women tend to have a different way of communication to others. Women are more likely to try and maintain harmony in groups while men are more likely talk over others and conversate in a more competitive manner pg101. I felt as though because my group was mainly male–oriented my group members would unintentionally ignore my comments in our soon to come meetings. But the mere thought that this would be difficult simply because I was a girl is the issue, the gender expectations that women and men hold are what causes issues. Also, I was analyzing their body language, I assumed that this group was going to be a burden because half of the boys were either unprepared for the course or simply didn't care enough to try. So, to counteract that thought a good way to get a decent feel for each member's characteristics is through introductions. Introducing yourself Is a good start for getting to know your members, things you're Get more content on HelpWriting.net
  • 18. The Importance Of Reflection The aim of this essay is to highlight the importance of reflection. Initially by breaking down individual skills including curriculum vitae (CV) writing, book and journal evaluation and self–evaluation through sources such as the initial skills identification tasks and evaluation workbook (InSITE). Reflective practice is imperative in order to bridge a gap between theory and practice ensuring that one lends itself to the other and an understanding is creating rather than simply a motor pattern, (Jasper 2013). Through reflection it has become clear that a CV should follow a set foundation however be tailored to a specific job specification (Bright and Earl 2010). Monster (2017) describes a CV as a summary of one's career history, personal skills, hobbies and interests. A view supported by (Innes 2012) who also highlights the importance of presentation as well as content. Presentation is a key aspect of CV writing due to the limited time employers will spend deliberating over it, an argument confirmed by (Bright and Earl 2010). Whilst presentation is an important part of a CV it is vital that content is as meaningful as it is well presented. A CV is much an advertisement as it is an application, the sole purpose although to inform is to convince the reader of their suitability for the role (Bright and Earl 2010). Persuasive language therefore is as important as informative language. Schmidt and Kess (1986) describes the recipient of the persuasion as an important part of his own involvement in the persuasive process. With this in mind it can be concluded that whilst presentation is key within the first thirty seconds of receiving the CV (Innes 2012) and persuasive language is also useful it ultimately comes down to content. Collecting information from various sources during the CV evaluation eluded to the need to ensure that the sources were credible and reliable. The book which will be evaluated in this essay is Acute Cardiac Care: A Practical Guide for Nurses Kucia and Quinn (2010) (Appendix, A) alongside the journal Ventilator associated pneumonia (VAP) Hunter (2012) (Appendix, B). Phillipe and Dellavelade (2014) indicate the importance of information evaluation by stating that information which may be Get more content on HelpWriting.net
  • 19. Reflective Essay On Self Esteem Self–acceptance is an extremely prevalent issue that numerous people struggle with. It is one of the hardest to surmount, for it is something I still struggle with to this day. Overall, my journey is a working progress as it will perpetuate to have its downfalls to test me. Like many of my generation, social media has played an excessively paramount role in our lives, both negatively and positively. Sources of harmless entertainment have also unintentionally encouraged self–judgment. Be that as it may, my perspective has been widely opened unexpectedly through a speaker's presentation as she showed us how to recognize our self–worth. Confidence and self–esteem are hard to acquire for some, but it should not be a quantity you divest yourself of. Self–acceptance of all insecurities and doubts is paramount since every individual has a unique beauty that should be cherished in order to pursue a life full of love and jubilance. During my sophomore year in high school, we had a Career Day with several guest speakers. They had split us up by gender, the girls stayed on the right side of the school while the boys stayed on the left. We could not enter the opposite sides considering we had presentations concretely for each group. As the boys had speakers to discuss the development of a gentleman, we had speakers addressing topics relating to makeup and on how to be a lady. Towards the end of the day, my friends and I decided to choose our last presentation randomly. As we entered the room, there was this resplendent woman with a surprisingly cordial atmosphere. She addressed us as if we were her own children; you could sense the love she had for positivity before she even commenced to speak. She gave us a background story of her childhood during our age, for she too had struggled with accepting herself with all her insecurities. She described her several encounters with bullying and how it had impacted her self–esteem even though she appeared so vigorous and confident. I admired that about her the most, not once did she ever show the slightest bit of weakness, yet she too had relatable problems. Then she mandated us to indite down the worst thing someone had ever verbally expressed about us, even if it were of our own Get more content on HelpWriting.net
  • 20. Personal Reflection Paper On Working Throughout this essay, I reflect on the semester that I had whilst undertaking 2031HSV Working in Organisations. Topics are discussed such as, new areas I encountered, skills and knowledge I have that I was previously unaware of, as well as the challenges that I faced throughout the semester. Firstly within this essay, I would like to discuss areas that were new to me throughout this course. I believe that working in groups will be extremely beneficial throughout my future social work career. However, working within such a largegroup (group of 11 people) was an extremely different concept than what I was accustomed to. I found throughout my reflection upon the semester that working in large groups (in contrast to working individually) posed many positive and negative qualities. Beginning with the strengths I recognised and rejoiced in the fact that there was a variety of different people that I had the perfect opportunity to get to know better. As the semester advanced, I become familiarised to eachindividual's strengths and weaknesses within the group, as well as my own. As a group we were able to thrive of the different experiences and expertise that other member could bring to the group, as well as compensate for other group members skill limitations with an empathetic and non–judgmental attitude. Thus overall making the group that I was assigned to, a very enjoyable group of people. As stated previously large group work, is a new concept to me, therefore the Get more content on HelpWriting.net
