1. QUESTION 3:
WHAT KIND OF MEDIA INSTITUTION MIGHT
DISTRIBUTE YOUR MEDIA PRODUCT AND WHY?
Seeing as we did not film a complete product it is
difficult considering distribution. However, if we
did make the entire film it would not be distributed
by a big production company, due to being a
student film.
2. IF IT WAS A STUDENT FILM ...
Through the use of modern
technology we would be able to
distribute our film online. If we
were to be given a small budget
for the distribution of a full
product then we would be able
to show our film at film
festivals, such as the Bedford
Film Festival or at Rich Mix
(where the viewing of amateur
films are held).
3. IF IT WAS A HOLLYWOOD FILM ...
If we were a large film production company with all the
necessary funding with dominance in the film market
then the distribution of our product would be much
easier. Our product would then be distributed by
companies such as:
E1 entertainment
Twentieth century fox
Sony pictures
Universal pictures
Warner brothers
And many more
4. HOWEVER ...
When carrying out my research I found
crime/mystery films to be mainly
distributed by Warner Brothers or E1
Entertainment. Then after further
research I found that E1 Entertainment
was a major and a much more suitable
distributor for film within the crime and
mystery genre. Therefore, if we were to
film a complete product and had the
necessary budget our film would most
probably be distributed by E1
Entertainment.
