I am a loyal hard working individual who pays attention to detail.
I have worked in the waste industry for 32 years over which time I have built up a vast
knowledge of the legislative regulations governing the industry.
I have proven business acumen in operational management including Budget Setting and
Financial Controls, Environmental Compliance, Personnel and Health and Safety Management.
CareerDevelopment
Over the last 32 years I have progressed in my career development from a manual laboring role,
to supervisory level and now work at management level.
I started work at the age of 16 at City of York Council working for the Cleansing Department
where I worked for 16 years. I then moved to Yorwaste Ltd where I have now worked for 18
years where I am currently employed as a Recycling Manager, a role I am passionate about.
I worked as a transport manager for 7 years running the companies vehicle fleet, I then moved
over to work on the East Coast as a Transport and Transfer Station Manager.
I then became the East Coast General Manager running two active landfill sites, including
greenwaste composting and wood shredding operations, two household waste recycling centers,
and a fully automated material recycling facility ( MRF ).
Over the past 7 years I have worked as a Recycling and WEEE Compliance Manager running an
MRF and a fully licenced AATF, WEEE Recycling Plant in York. In my roll as WEEE
Compliance Manager I am responsible for the annual AATF licence application including full
compliance against the WEEE Directive Regulations part of which involves posting evidence
onto the WEEE Settlement Centre for Producer Compliance Schemes.
