2. The Client - The client was premium chain of hotels and resorts in India. Contact
point was a senior VP in HR for development of this program.
The Project –The project was about creating an online training program about
company’s vision, introduction of the management and their messages to the
global employees. This was supposed to be used for company’s global induction
programs.
The Team – The team was a small team of 10 – 20 shared resources from Content
Development, Graphic Design, Technical Experts and QA Testers. Since this was a
prestigious project for the company even the local leadership of TIS was
important stakeholders in this.
The Challenges – As a Project Manager of this project challenges were many but
to state them in short I may state the following –
1. Timely feedback from the client since the client SPOC was a very busy and
senior person.
2. High expectations set in the beginning as the stakeholders and focus of this
project was wide ranging.
3. High end design standards made it complicated for the design team.
4. Offsite reviewers often made the reviews late.
5. Varied Stakeholders Expectations and related challenges in stakeholder
management.
6. Ever changing requirements has made the project schedule, budget and
quality and customer satisfaction constraints swinging at different stages of
project.
The Win–The final product not only won high accolades from internal
stakeholders and the client but also from the participants of the APEX contest in
2009. Finally the award came to the India team with a big note of celebration.
